Safe Driving (P 35)
Airbags (P52)
●Your vehicle is fitted with airbags to help protect you and
your passengers during a moderate-to-severe collision.
Child Safety (P68)
●All children 12 and younger should be seated in the rear seat.●Smaller children should be properly restrained in a forward-facing child seat.●Infants must be properly restrained in a rear-facing child seat.
Exhaust Gas Hazard (P81)
●Your vehicle emits dangerous exhaust gases that contain
carbon monoxide. Do not run the engine in confined spaces
where carbon monoxide gas can accumulate.
Before Driving Checklist (P40)
●Before driving, check that the front seats, head
restraints, steering wheel, and mirrors have been
properly adjusted.
Seat Belts (P42)
●Fasten your seat belt and sit upright well
back in the seat.
●Check that your passengers are wearing
their seat belts correctly.
Fasten your lap belt as
low as possible.

●Check engine oil, engine coolant, and windshield washer
fluid. Add when necessary.
●Check brake fluid.●Check the battery condition monthly.
aPull the hood release handle under the corner of the
dashboard.
bLocate the hood latch lever, push it to the side, and then
raise the hood. Once you have raised the hood slightly,
you can release the lever.
cWhen finished, close the hood and make sure it is firmly
locked in place.

●Inspect all lights regularly.
Wiper Blades (P555)
●Replace blades if they leave streaks
across the windshield or become noisy.
Tires (P559)
●Inspect tires and wheels regularly.●Check tire pressures regularly.●Install snow tires for winter driving.

●Check for a blown fuse if an electrical

Airbag System Indicators
If a problem occurs in the airbag system , the SRS indicator will come on and a
message appears on the multi-information display*.
■When the ignition sw itch is turned to
ON
(w*1
The indicator comes on for a few seconds,
then goes off. This tells you the system is
working properly.
If the indicator comes on at any other time, or
does not come on at all, have the system
checked by a dealer as s oon as possible. If you
don’t, your airbags and seat belt tensioners
may not work properly when they are needed.

■Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Indicator

3WARNING
Ignoring the SRS indicator can result in
serious injury or death if the airbag systems
or tensioners do not work properly.
Have your vehicle checked by a dealer as
soon as possible if th e SRS indicator alerts
you to a possible problem.
