To activate RDS category search
with the interf ace dial, push the
AUDIO button to display the FM
radio inf ormation on the screen.
Push the interf ace selector down,
and turn the interf ace dial to select
RDS search. Press ENTER on the
interf ace selector. The screen shows
youtheRDScategorylist.Turn the interface dial to the desired
RDS category. The scan f unction samples all
stations with strong signals on the
selected RDS category one by one.
You will also see the selected RDS
category name blinking in the
display while scanning it. When the
system f inds one, it will stop and play
that station for about 10 seconds.
If you do nothing, the system will
scan f or the next strong station and
play it f or 10 seconds. When it plays
a station that you want to listen to,
press the SCAN button again.
If the system does not find a station,

Turn the interface dial to the desired
RDS category.While the RDS category is selected,
move the interface selector to the
lef t or the right to select SCAN.
Then press ENTER to activate the
RDS SCAN.
This f unction displays the radio text
inf ormation of the selected RDS
station.
If the selected RDS station has the
radio text inf ormation, you will see
the text indicator on the screen.

FADER are each adjustable. You can
also adjust the strength of the sound
coming from the center and
subwoof er speakers. In addition, you
can set the Dolby PL (ProLogic) II
and Speed-sensitive volume
compensation (SVC).
Theseadjustmentscanbemadewith
the TUNE/SOUND knob or the
interf ace dial.To adjust the sound, press the
AUDIO button, push the interf ace
selector down, and turn the interf ace
dial to Sound Setup. Then press
ENTER on the interf ace selector. Selectthemodeyouwanttoadjust
by turning the interf ace dial then
press ENTER.
You can also adjust the sound by
turning the TUNE/SOUND knob.

µIn some audio playing modes
(XM,AUX),whenDPLIIison,the
music coming f rom the rear
speakers may sound distorted. This
is due to compression of the music,
and it does not indicate a problem
with the setting.
The SVC mode controls the volume
based on vehicle speed. The f aster
you go, the louder the audio volume
becomes. As you slow down, the
audio volume decreases.
The SVC has f our modes: SVC OFF,
SVC LOW, SVC MID, and SVC
HIGH. To change the SVC mode,
select SVC, then press ENTER on
the interf ace selector. The current
setting is shown on the screen. Turn
the interface knob to the desired
level, and enter your selection by
pressing ENTER on the interf ace
selector. If you f eel the sound is too
loud, choose low. If you f eel the
sound is too quiet, choose high.
Dolby
PL (ProLogic) II signal processing
creates multi-channel surround
sound f rom 2 channel stereo audio
sources. Dolby ProLogic II can only
be activated when listening to DISC
(CD-DA, MP3/WMA), XM Radio,

XM Radio receives signals f rom two
satellites to produce clear, high-
quality digital reception. It of f ers
many channels in several categories.
Along with a large selection of
dif f erent types of music, XM Radio
also allows you to view channel and
category selections in the audio
display. To listen to XM Radio, turn the
ignition switch to the ACCESSORY
(I) or ON (II) position. Push the
power/volume knob to turn on the
audio system, and press the
button. The last channel you
listened to will show in the display.
Adjust the volume by turning the
power/volume knob. Each time you push the interface
selector up, the band will change to
XM1 or XM2. Push the AUDIO
button to display XM inf ormation on
the screen. You can operate the XM
radio system with the interf ace dial.

To switch between the
category mode and channel mode,
push the interf ace selector down to
display AUDIO MENU, then turn
the interf ace dial to select Mode, and
press ENTER on the interf ace
selector.
Turn the interf ace dial to select CH
or CAT, then press ENTER on the
interface selector. Move the
interfaceselectoruptogoback.
You can also switch the mode by
pressing the TITLE button for 3seconds.
In the category mode, such as Jazz,
Rock, Classical, etc., you can
navigate through all of the channels
within that category. In the channel
mode, you can select all of the
available channels. Each time you press and release the
TITLE button, the center display
changes in the f ollowing sequence:
CATEGORY, NAME (artist name),
TITLE (music title), and CHANNEL
NAME (channel name).

XM1 or XM2 will be shown on the
display.
To store a channel: Youcanstoreupto12
preset channels using the six preset
buttons. Each button stores one
channel f rom the XM1 band and one
channel f rom the XM2 band.
This
f unction samples the stations in the
selected category. Push down the
interf ace selector to select AUDIO
MENU,thenturntheinterfacedial
to select Category Scan and press
ENTER on the interf ace selector.
The scan f unction gives
you a sampling of all channels while
in the channel mode. In the category
mode, only the channels within that
category are scanned. To activate
scan, press the SCAN button. The
system plays each channel in
numerical order f or a f ew seconds,
then selects the next channel. When
you hear a channel you want to
continue listening to, press the
button again.
This f unction
samples all channels. Push down the
interf ace selector to select AUDIO
MENU,thenturntheinterfacedial
to select Channel Scan and press
ENTER on the interf ace selector.

Once a channel is stored, press
and release the proper preset
button to tune to it.
Press the button or scroll
up again. The other XM band will
be shown. Store the next six
channels using steps 2 and 3.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 to store the
f irst six channels.
Pick the preset button you want
f or that channel. Press and hold
the preset button until you hear a
beep. You can also pick the
number with the interf ace dial.
Select your desired number and
press and hold ENTER on the
interf ace selector.
In category mode, only channels
within that category can be
selected. In channel mode, all
channels can be selected.
Use the tune, list, or scan f unction
to tune to a desired channel.
The selected
channel has no artist or title
inf ormation at this time.
There is
a problem with the XM antenna.
Please consult your dealer.
The signal is
currently too weak. Move the vehicle
to an area away from tall buildings,
and with an unobstructed view of the
southern horizon. XM is loading the
audio or program inf ormation. The channel
currently selected is no longer
broadcasting.
The
encryption code is being updated.
Wait until the encryption code is
f ully updated. Channels 0 and 1
should still work normally. The selected
channel number does not exist, is
not part of your subscription, or this
channel has no artist or title
inf ormation at this time.
