2FUEL RECOMMENDATIONS
B010A02MC-GAT Use Unleaded Gasoline If leaded gasoline is used, it will cause the catalytic converter to become inef-fective and the emission control sys- tem to malfunction. This can also result in increased maintenance expense. Toavoid accidental use of leaded fuel, the large nozzle used with leaded gasoline at service stations can not be insertedinto fuel tank opening of Hyundai ve- hicle. NOTE:
o For some countries, Hyundai ve-
hicles are designed to use leaded gasoline. When you are going touse leaded gasoline, ask to Hyundai dealer whether leaded gasoline in your vehicle is avail-able or not.
o Octane Rating of leaded gasoline
is same with unleaded one.
For Europe
– For the optimal vehicle
performance, we recommend you to use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of RON (Research Octane Num-ber) 95 /AKI (Anti Knock Index) 91 or higher. You may use unleaded gasoline with anoctane rating of RON 91~94/AKI 87~90 but it may result in slight performance reduction of the vehicle. Except Europe – Unleaded gasoline
with a Pump Octane Rating of 87 (Re- search Octane Number 91) or higher must be used in Hyundai vehicle. B010A01MC
Use Diesel Diesel fuel Diesel engine must be operated only on commercially available diesel fuel that complies with EN 590 or comparablestandard. (EN stands for "European Norm"). Do not use marine diesel fuel, heatingoils, or non-approved fuel additives, as this will increase wear and cause dam- age to the engine and fuel system. Theuse of non-approved fuels and / or fuel additives will result in a limitation of your warranty rights.Diesel fuel of above cetane 52 is used in Hyundai vehicle. If two types of diesel fuel are available, use summer orwinter fuel properly according to the following temperature conditions.
o Above -5°C (23°F) ... Summer type
diesel fuel.
o Below -5°C (23°F) ... Winter type diesel fuel.
Watch the fuel level in the tank very carefully : If the engine stops through fuel failure, the circuits must be com- pletely purged to permit restarting.

CAUTION:
o Do not let any gasoline or water enter the tank. This would make it necessary to drain it out and to bleed the lines to avoid jamming the injection pump and damagingthe engine.
o In winter, in order to cut down
incidents due to freezing, paraffinoil may be added to the fuel if the temperature drops to below -10°C. Never use more than 20% paraffinoil.
! Biodiesel Commercially supplied biodiesel blends of no more than 5% biodiesel, com-monly known as "B5 biodiesel" may be used in your vehicle if it meets EN 14214 or equivalent specifications. (ENstands for "European Norm"). The use of biofuels made from rapeseed methyl ester (RME), fatty acid methyl ester(FAME), vegetable oil methyl ester (VME) etc. or mixing diesel with biodiesel will cause increased wear ordamage to the engine and fuel system. Repair or replacement of worn or dam- aged components due to the use of nonapproved fuels will not be covered by the manufactures warranty. A020202AUN Biodiesel (for New Zealand) Commercially supplied biodiesel blends of no more than 5% biodiesel, com-monly known as "B5 biodiesel" may be used in your vehicle if it meets EN 14214 or equivalent specifications. !CAUTION:
If the oil pressure warning light stays on while the engine is running, seri- ous engine damage may result. Theoil pressure warning light comes on whenever there is insufficient oil pres- sure. In normal operation, it shouldcome on when the ignition switch is turned on, then go out when the en- gine is started. If the oil pressurewarning light stays on while the en- gine is running, there may be a seri- ous malfunction.If this happens, stop the car as soon
as it is safe to do so, turn off the
engine and check the oil level. If the oil level is low, fill the engine oil to the proper level and start the engine again. If the light stays on with theengine running, turn the engine off immediately. In any instance where the oil light stays on when the engineis running, the engine should be checked by an authorized Hyundai dealer before the car is driven again. WARNING:
If you suspect brake trouble, have your brakes checked by a Hyundai dealer as soon as possible. Drivingyour car with a problem in either the brake electrical system or brake hy- draulic system is dangerous, andcould result in a serious injury or death.

The high beam indicator light comes on whenever the headlights are switchedto the high beam or flash position.

Applying the parking brake To engage the parking brake, first apply the foot brake and then without press-ing the release button in, pull the park-
ing brake lever up as far as possible. In addition it is recommended that whenparking the vehicle on a gradient, the shift lever should be positioned in the appropriate low gear on manual transaxlevehicles or in the P (Park) position on automatic transaxle vehicles.
CAUTION:
Driving with the parking brake ap-plied will cause excessive brake pad (or lining) and brake rotor wear.

!WARNING:
Whenever leaving vehicle or parking always set the parking brake as far as possible and fully engage the vehicle's transaxle into the park po-sition. Vehicles not fully engaged in park with the parking brake set are at risk for moving inadvertently andinjuring yourself or others.
Releasing the parking brake To release the parking brake, first apply the foot brake and pull up the parkingbrake lever slightly. Secondly, depress the release button and lower the parking brake lever while holding the button.
HIGH-MOUNTED REAR STOP LIGHT

Avoid eye injury. DO NOT over- stretch. The luggage net ALWAYS keep your face and body out of its recoil path. DO NOT use when thestrap has visible signs of wear or damage.
When loading objects in the luggage compartment, use the four rings lo-cated in the luggage compartment to attach the luggage net as shown illus- tration. This will help prevent the ob-jects from sliding.

o Don't put an additional floor mat

When not in use, place your discs in
their individual cases and store them in
a cool place away from the sun, heat,
and dust.Do not grip or pull out the disc with your
hand while the disc is being pulled into
the unit by the self loading mechanism.
Keep Your Discs Clean

Proper Handling
Handle your disc as shown. Do not drop
the disc. Hold the disc so you will not leave fingerprints on the surface. If the
surface is scratched, it may cause the
pickup to skip signal tracks. Do not
affix tape, paper, or gummed labels on the disc. Do not write on the disc.
Damaged Disc
Do not attempt to play damaged, warped or cracked discs. These could severely
damage the playback mechanism. Fingerprints, dust, or soil on the surface
of a disc could cause the pickup to skip
signal tracks. Wipe the surface clean
with a clean soft cloth.If the surface is heavily soiled, dampena clean soft cloth in a solution of mild
neutral detergent to wipe it clean.

Proper care of your cassette tapes will extend the tape life and increase yourlistening enjoyment. Always protect
your tapes and cassette cases from
direct sunlight, severely cold and dusty
conditions.
When not in use, cassettes shouldalways be stored in the original protec-
tive cassette case. When the vehicle is
very hot or cold, allow the interior tem-
perature to become more comfortable before listening to your cassettes.
oNever leave a cassette inserted in the player when not being played.
This could damage the tape player

oThe playback head, capstan andpinch rollers will develop a coating of
tape residue that can result in dete-
rioration of sound quality, such as a
wavering sound. They should be
cleaned monthly using a commer- cially available head cleaning tape or
special solution available from audio
specialty shops. Follow the supplier's directions carefully and never oil any
part of the tape player unit.
oAlways be sure that the tape is tightly
wound on its reel before inserting inthe player. Rotate a pencil in the drive sprockets to wind up any slack.
oBe sure that the cassette label is not loose or peeling off or tape ejection
may be difficult.
oNever touch or soil the actual audio tape surfaces.
oKeep all magnetized objects, such
as electric motors, speakers or trans-
formers away from your cassette tapes and tape player unit.
oStore cassettes in a cool, dry place
with the open side facing down toprevent dust from setting in the cas-
sette body.
oWe strongly recommend against the
use of tapes longer than C-60 (60
minutes total). Tapes such as C-120
or C-180 are very thin and do not
perform as well in the automotive
environment. oAvoid repeated fast / reverse usage
to replay one given tune or tape
section. This can cause poor tape
winding to occur, and eventually cause excessive internal drag and
poor audio quality in the cassette. If
this occurs, it can sometimes be
corrected by fast winding the tape
from end to end several times. If this does not correct the problem, do not
continue to use the tape in your
vehicle.
