NOTE: The ignition must be in the "ON" position to turn on the headlights. Side light auto cut If you do not turn the side lights "OFF" after driving, the side lights will auto-matically shut "OFF" when the driver's door is opened. To turn them "ON" again you mustsimply turn the ignition key to the "ON" position. SB220D1-E HIGH AND LOW BEAM To turn on the headlight high beams, push the lever forward (away fromyou). For low beams, pull the lever back (toward you). The appropriate headlight beam indicator light will comeon at the same time. B340G01LZ-GAT Auto Light (Not all models) To operate the automatic lamp fea- ture, turn the barrel on the end of the multi-function switch. If you set themulti-function switch to "AUTO", the tail lamps and headlamps will be turned automatically on or off according toexternal illumination.
HGK2075-ENOTE: Switch on car lamp manually in foggy, cloudy and rainy conditions. NOTE:
o Never place anything over sen-
sor located on the instrument panel, this will ensure better auto lamp system control.
o Don't clean the sensor using a window cleaner.
o If your vehicle has window tint or other types of coating on the front windscreen, the AUTO lamp system may not work properly. B340G01GK-E

(2) B350B01O-EAT WINDSCREEN WASHER OPERATION To use the windscreen washer, pull the wiper/washer lever toward the steering wheel. When the washers are operated, the wipers automaticallymake two passes across the windscreen. The washer continues to operate until the lever is released.HGK2082-E
WINDSCREEN WIPER/ WASHER SWITCH
SB220E1-E HEADLIGHT FLASHER The headlight may be flashed by pull- ing the turn signal switch lever towards the steering wheel. The headlight willbe extinguished when the switch is released. B350A01A-EAT The windscreen wiper switch, depen- dent upon model, has three operatingpositions. 1. Intermittent wiper operation. 2. Low speed operation. 3. High speed operation. NOTE: To prevent damage to the wiper system, do not attempt to wipe away heavy accumulations of snow orice. Accumulated snow and ice should beremoved manually. If there is only alight layer of snow or ice, operate the heater in the defrost mode to melt the snow or ice before using the wiper.

Do not operate the wiper when the win- dow is dry; this can result in scratch-ing as well as premature wiper blade wear. B360A01Y-DAT Rear Fog Light Switch (Not all models) To turn on the rear fog lights, push the switch. They will light when the head-light switch is in the second position and the key is in the "ON" position.
B360B01A-EAT Front Fog Light Switch
To turn on the front fog lights, push the switch. They will light when the head- light switch is in the second position and the ignition key is in the "ON"position. Type A

SB290A1-F For the cigar lighter to work, the key must be in the "ACC" or the "ON"position. To use the cigar lighter, push the lighter all the way into its socket. When theelement is heated, the lighter will pop out into the "ready" position. Do not hold the cigar lighter at thedepressed position which may result in damage to the vehicle wiring or an electrical fire.If it is necessary to replace the cigar lighter, use only a genuine Hyundai replacement part. ZB190A1-A There are three control buttons for the digital clock. Their functions are: HOUR - Push "H" to advance the hour
indicated. MIN - Push "M" to advance the minute
indicated. RESET - Push "R" to reset minutes to

ASHTRAY
B430A01GK-AAT The front ashtray may be opened by pushing and releasing the ashtray door at its top edge.To remove the ashtray in order to clean it, the metal ash receptacle should be lifted out from the ashtray door. Donot attempt to remove the entire ash- tray door assembly or damage will result. To reinstall it, place it in theproper position and press it down in the ashtray door. HEADLIGHT LEVELING DE- VICE SYSTEM
SB320A2-F To adjust the headlight beam level according to the number of the pas- sengers and the loading weight in theluggage area, turn the beam leveling switch. The higher the number of the switchposition, the lower the headlight beam level. Always keep the headlight beam at theproper leveling position, or headlights may dazzle other road users. Listed below are the examples of rec-ommended switch settings. For loading conditions other than those listed below, adjust the switch positionso that the beam level may be the nearest as the condition obtained ac- cording to the list. HGK2151-E

B460E03GK-GAT Resetting the Sunroof System If the battery has been recharged, disconnected or if the sunroof is oper-ated with the hexagonal head wrench manually, you may need to reset the sunroof. To do this;
1. Turn the ignition switch "OFF".
2. With pressing " " "up" button at the
same time, turn the ignition switch"ON". The resetting is failed when the ignition key to the "OFF" within1.5 seconds.
3. If the sunroof is set like this, the sunroof is reset with tilting up/down automatically once for all.
CAUTION:
If the sunroof is not reset, it may not be operated properly.

MAP LIGHT

(1) Push in the map light switch to turn on the driver side light.
(2) In the "DOOR" position, the interior courtesy light comes on when any door is opened regardless of theignition key position. The light goes out gradually 6 seconds after the door is closed.
(3) Push in the map light switch to turn on the driver side light.(1)

SPECTACLE CASE
FB340B1-F (Not all models) The spectacle case is located on the front overhead console. Push the end of cover to open or closethe spectacle case.
WARNING:

PARKING BRAKE
SB290A01-E The parking brake must always be set when the vehicle is to be left unattended.When the parking brake is applied, and the ignition key is at the "ON" position, the parking brake warning lamp will beilluminated. Before driving the vehicle, the parking brake must be fully released and the warning lamp extinguished.
o To engage the parking brake, apply the foot brake and pull up the lever as far as possible.
o To release the parking brake, apply
the foot brake and pull up the park-ing brake lever slightly. Depress the button and lower the lever. HGK3019
B520B02O-GAT (Electric type) (If installed) The electric type day/night inside rear- view mirror automatically controls the glare of headlights of the car behindyou.
1. Pressing the button turns the
auto-dimming function OFF which is indicated by the green Status Indica- tor LED turning off.
2. Pressing the button again turns the auto-dimming function ON whichis indicated by the green Status Indi-cator LED turning on.
NOTE: The mirror defaults to the "ON" posi- tion each time the vehicle is started. HLZ2068-1

Fuel vapours are dangerous. Be- fore refuelling, turn off the engine and never allow sparks, lit ciga-rettes or open flames near the filler area. When releasing the filler cap, a small amount of residual pres-sure may generate a slight hissing sound which is not indicative of an abnormality. In the event of the fuelfiller cap requiring replacement, only a Genuine Hyundai replace- ment part should be used to pre-vent fuel leakage. HGK2018Q
SB440A1-E (Not all models) The fuel filler lid may be opened from inside the vehicle by pulling up on thefuel filler lid release. NOTE: If the fuel filler lid will not open because ice has formed around it, tap lightly or push on the lid to break the ice and release the lid. Donot lever the lid. If necessary, spray around the lid with an approved de- icer fluid (do not use radiator anti-freeze) or move the vehicle to a warm place and allow the ice to melt.REMOTE FUEL FILLER LID RELEASE

B660B01GK-GAT To Set the Cruise Speed
1. Push in the cruise control main
switch on the end of the barrel. The "CRUISE" indicator light in the in-strument cluster will be illuminated. This turns the system on.
2. Accelerate to the desired cruising speed above 25 mph (40 km/h).
3. Push the control switch downward
to "SET (COAST)" and release it.
4. Remove your foot from the accel- erator pedal and the desired speed will automatically be maintained.The "SET" indicator light in the in- strument cluster will illuminated. B660B01GK

5. To increase speed, depress the
accelerator pedal enough for the vehicle to exceed the preset speed. When you remove your foot from the accelerator pedal, the vehiclewill return to the speed you have set.
WARNING:
To avoid accidental cruise controlengagement, keep the cruise con- trol main switch off when not using the cruise control.B660C01GK-AAT To Cancel the Cruise Speed To disengage the cruise control sys- tem, Pull the control switch toward the steering wheel to "CANCEL" position.Additionally, the following actions will disengage the system:
o Depress the brake pedal.
o Depress the clutch pedal (Manual transaxle).
o Shift the selector lever in "N" posi- tion (Automatic transaxle).
o Decrease the vehicle speed lower than memorized speed by 9 mph(15 km/h). B660C01GK
