2FUEL RECOMMENDATIONS
B010A03A-GAT Use Unleaded Gasoline For Europe – For the optimal vehicle
performance, we recommend you to use unleaded gasoline with an octanerating of RON (Research Octane Num- ber) 95 /AKI (Anti Knock Index) 91 or higher.You may use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of RON 91~94/AKI 87~90 but it may result in slight performancereduction of the vehicle. Except Europe – Unleaded gasoline
with a Pump Octane Rating of 87 (Re- search Octane Number 91) or higher must be used in Hyundai vehicle. If leaded gasoline is used, it will causethe catalytic converter to become inef-fective and the emission control sys- tem to malfunction. This can also result in increased main-tenance expense. To avoid accidental use of leaded fuel, the large nozzle used with leaded gasoline at servicestations can not be inserted into fuel tank opening of Hyundai vehicle. NOTE:
o For some countries, Hyundai
vehicles are designed to use leaded gasoline. When you are going to use leaded gasoline,ask to Hyundai dealer whether leaded gasoline in your vehicle is available or not.
o Octane Rating of leaded gaso- line is same with unleaded one. B010B01A-AAT What About Gasohol? Gasohol (a mixture of 90% unleaded gasoline and 10% ethanol or grainalcohol) may be used in your Hyundai. However, if your engine develops driveability problems, the use of 100%unleaded gasoline is recommended. Fuels with unspecified quantities of alcohol, or alcohols other than ethanol,should not be used.
B010D01S-AAT Do not Use Methanol Fuels containing methanol (wood al- cohol) should not be used in your Hyundai. This type of fuel can reducevehicle performance and damage com- ponents of the fuel system.
CAUTION:
Your Hyundai's New Vehicle Lim- ited Warranty may not cover dam-age to the fuel system and perfor- mance problems that are caused by the use of methanol or fuels con-taining methanol.

32SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT (AIRBAG) SYSTEM (SRS)
o Improper handling of the pre-
tensioner seat belt assemblies, and failure to heed the warnings to not strike, modify, inspect, re-place, service or repair the pre- tensioner seat belt assemblies may lead to improper operationor inadvertent activation and se- rious injury.
o Always wear seat belts when driv- ing or riding in a motor vehicle. B240A01GK-GAT (If Installed) Your Hyundai is equipped with a Supple- mental Restraint (Airbag) System. The indications of the system's presenceare the letters "SRS AIR BAG" em- bossed on the ornament in the steering wheel and the passenger's side frontpanel pad above the glove box. The Hyundai SRS consists of airbags installed under the pad covers in the center of the steering wheel and the passenger's side front panel above theglove box. The purpose of the SRS is to provide the vehicle's driver and/or the front passenger with additional pro-tection than that offered by the seat beltDriver's Airbag

!WARNING:
o Pre-tensioners are designed to operate only one time. After acti- vation, pre-tensioner seat belts must be replaced. All seat belts, of any type, should always bereplaced after they have been worn during a collision.
o The pre-tensioner seat belt as- sembly mechanisms become hotduring activation. Do not touch the pre-tensioner seat belt as-semblies for several minutes af- ter they have been activated.
o Do not attempt to inspect or re- place the pre-tensioner seat beltsyourself. This must be done by an authorized Hyundai dealer.
o Do not strike the pre-tensioner seat belt assemblies.
o Do not attempt to service or re- pair the pre-tensioner seat belt system in any manner.

injury or death in the event of a crash. Do not sit or lean unneces- sarily close to the airbag while the vehicle is in motion.
o The SRS airbag system must deploy very rapidly to provideprotection in a crash. If an occu-pant is out of position because of not wearing a seat belt, the airbag may forcefully contact theoccupant causing serious or fa- tal injuries. B240B02GK-GAT SRS Components and Functions The SRS consists of the following com- ponents: - Driver's Airbag Module - Passenger's Airbag Module - SRS Service Reminder Indicator (SRI)- SRS Control Module (SRSCM) The SRSCM continually monitors all elements while the ignition is "ON" to determine if a frontal or near-frontal impact is severe enough to requireairbag deployment.B240B01Lo Do not tamper with or disconnect
SRS wiring, or other components of the SRS system. Doing socould result in injury, due to acci- dental firing of the airbags or by rendering the SRS inoperative.
o Do not install a child restraint sys- tem in the front passenger seatposition. A child restraint systemmust never be placed in the front seat. The infant or child could be severely injured or killed by anairbag deployment in case of an accident.
o Do not allow children to ride in
the front passenger seat. If olderchildren (teenagers and older) must ride in the front seat, makesure they are always properly belted and that the seat is moved back as far as possible.
o For maximum safety protection in all types of crashes, all occu-pants including the driver shouldalways wear their seat belts whether or not an airbag is also provided at their seating posi-tion to minimize the risk of severe

The SRS service reminder indicator (SRI) on the instrument panel will comeon for about 6 seconds after the igni- tion key is turned to the "ON" position or after the engine is started, afterwhich the SRI should go out. The airbag modules are located both in the center of the steering wheel and in the front passenger's panel above the glove box. When the SRSCM detects aconsiderable impact to the front of the vehicle, it will automatically deploy the airbags. B240B02LPassenger's Airbag
Upon deployment, tear seams molded directly into the pad covers will sepa-rate under pressure from the expan- sion of the airbags. Further opening of the covers then allows full inflation ofthe airbags. A fully inflated airbag in combination with a properly worn seat belt slows the driver's or the passenger's forward motion, thus reducing the risk of headand chest injury. After complete inflation, the airbag immediately starts deflating, enabling the driver to maintain forward visibility. B240B03L

CAUTION:
Do not install or place any accesso- ries (drink holder, cassette holder, sticker, etc) on the front passenger's panel above the glove box in a ve-hicle with a passenger's air bag. Such objects may become danger- ous projectiles and cause injury ifthe passenger's air bag inflates.

!WARNING:
o Extreme Hazard! Do not use a rearward facing child restraint on a seat protected by an airbag in front of it.
o Modification to SRS components or wiring, including the additionof any kind of badges to the pad covers or modifications to thebody structure, can adversely af- fect SRS performance and lead to possible injury. o For cleaning the airbag pad cov-
ers, use only a soft, dry cloth or one which has been moistened with plain water. Solvents orcleaners could adversely affect the airbag covers and proper de- ployment of the system.
o No objects should be placed over or near the airbag modules onthe steering wheel, instrumentpanel, and the front passenger's panel above the glove box, be- cause any such object couldcause harm if the vehicle is in a crash severe enough to cause the airbags to inflate.
o If the airbags inflate, they must be replaced by an authorizedHyundai dealer.
o Do not tamper with or discon- nect SRS wiring, or other com-ponents of the SRS system. Do-ing so could result in injury, due to accidental firing of the airbags or by rendering the SRS inopera-tive.
B240C01Y-GAT SRS Care The SRS is virtually maintenance-free and there are no parts you can safelyservice by yourself. The entire SRS system must be inspected by an au- thorized Hyundai dealer 10 years afterthe date that the vehicle was manufac- tured. Any work on the SRS system, such as removing, installing, repairing, or any work on the steering wheel must beperformed by a qualified Hyundai technician. Improper handling of the SRS system may result in seriouspersonal injury.

WARNING AND INDICATOR LIGHTS

The blinking green arrows on the in- strument panel show the direction indi-cated by the turn signals. If the arrow comes on but does not blink, blinks more rapidly than normal, or does notilluminate at all, a malfunction in the turn signal system is indicated. Your dealer should be consulted for repairs. B260P02Y-GAT ABS Service Reminder Indicator (SRI)(If installed)
When the key is turned to the "ON" position, the Anti-Lock Brake System will come on and then go off in a few seconds. If the ABS SRI remains on,comes on while driving, or does not come on when the key is turned to the "ON" position, this indicates that theremay be a problem with the ABS. If this occurs, have your vehiclechecked by your Hyundai dealer assoon as possible. The normal braking system will still be operational, but without the assistance of the anti-lockbrake system.
WARNING:
If the both ABS SRI and ParkingBrake/Brake fluid level warning lights remain "ON" or come on while driving, there may be a problem with E.B.D (Electronic brake force distribution).If this occurs, avoid sudden stops and have your vehicle checked by your Hyundai dealer as soon aspossible.B260F01A-AAT High Beam Indicator Light
The high beam indicator light comes on whenever the headlights areswitched to the high beam or flash position.
CAUTION:
If the oil pressure warning light stays on while the engine is run- ning, serious engine damage may result. The oil pressure warninglight comes on whenever there is insufficient oil pressure. In normal operation, it should come on whenthe ignition switch is turned on, then go out when the engine is started. If the oil pressure warninglight stays on while the engine is running, there may be a serious malfunction.
