HEADLIGHT AIMING ADJUSTMENT
1. Keep all tires inflated to the correctpressure.
2. Place the vehicle on level ground and press the front bumper & rearbumper down several times. Placevehicle at a distance of 3m (118 in.) from the test wall.
3. See that the vehicle is unloaded (except for full levels of coolant, engine oil and fuel, and spare tire,jack, and tools).
4. Clean the head light lenses and
turn on the headlights.
5. Open the hood.
6. Draw the vertical line (through the center of each headlight beam pat- tern) and the horizontal line (through the center of each headlight beampattern) on the aiming screen.And then, draw a parallel line at 30mm (1.18 in.) under the horizontal line.
7. Adjust each cut-off line of the low beam to the parallel line with aphillips screwdriver - VERTICAL AIMING.
8. Adjust each cut-off line of the low
beam to each vertical line with aphillips screwdriver - HORIZON- TAL AIMING.
Before performing aiming adjustment,
make sure of the following.

Adjustment After Headlight As- sembly Replacement
If the vehicle has had front body repair and the headlight assembly has been replaced, the headlight aiming should be checked using an aiming screen asshown in the illustration. Turn on the headlight switch.
1. Adjust headlights so that main axis of light is parallel to center line of the body and is aligned with point"P" shown in the illustration.
2. Dotted lines in the illustration show the center of headlights. SPECIFICATION:

Low Beam: 690 mm (27.2 in.) High Beam: 674 mm (26.5 in.) "W" Distance between each headlight cen-

REPLACEMENT OF LIGHT BULBS

bulb, be sure the switch is turned to the "OFF" position.

reach the light bulbs so they may bechanged. Be sure to replace the burned- out bulb with one of the same number and wattage rating.

o Driving on worn-out tires is dan- gerous! Worn-out tires can cause loss of braking effectiveness, steer-ing control and traction. When re- placing tires, never mix radial and bias-ply tires on the same car. Ifyou replace radial tires with bias- ply tires, they must be installed in sets of four.
o Using tires and wheels of other than the recommended sizes maycause unusual handling charac- teristics that may cause death, serious injury or property dam-age.
o Tires degrade over time, even when
they are not being used. Regard- less of the remaining tread, it is recommended that tires generallybe replaced after six (6) years of normal service. Heat caused by hot climates or frequent high load-ing conditions can accelerate the aging process. Failure to follow this warning can result in suddentire failure, which could lead to a loss of control and an accident involving serious injury or death. I100A01FC-GAT

I090A02S-GAT When to Replace Tires The original tires on your car have tread wear indicators. The tread wear indicators appear when the tread depth is 1.6 mm (0.06 in.). The tireshould be replaced when these ap- pear as a solid bar across two or more grooves of the tread. Alwaysreplace your tires with those of the recommended size. If you change wheels, the new wheel's rim widthand offset must meet Hyundai speci- fications. HGK5015

Responsibilty For Maintenance
It is the responsibility of the vehicle owner/driver to ensure that all routine mainte- nance services are undertaken in line with the recommendations specified in Section 5 of this manual. In addition, in order to ensure continued validity of the new vehiclewarranty and safe operation of the vehicle, non scheduled maintenance/running repairs should be undertaken at the earliest available opportunity. Under severe operating conditions, more frequent maintenance is required. Detailsof the maintenance schedule for such conditions are also given in section 5. It is recommended that all maintenance operations and repairs are entrusted to a Hyundai authorised repairer to ensure that the latest repair methods, specialised toolingand genuine Hyundai parts are used to ensure the continued reliability and safety of the vehicle.

It is of the utmost importance that care is exercised when changing road wheels. Ensure that the parking brakeis set and that the gear shift lever is in reverse (P, if the vehicle has automatic transaxle).

The jack is located behind the right side of luggage trim. Remove the jack coverwith screwing the bolts. Turn the jack end counterclockwise to lower the jack height by using a screw driver or wrenchbar and remove it from the bracket.

Go around the wheel tightening every other nut until they are all tight. Thendouble-check each nut for tightness. After changing wheels, have a techni- cian tighten the wheel nuts to theirproper torque as soon as possible. Wheel nut tightening torque Steel wheel & aluminium alloy wheel: 90-110 Nm. (65-80 lb.ft)
SD070K1-E AFTER CHANGING WHEELS The pressure of the spare tyre should be checked at the first available oppor-tunity. If any doubt exists as to the tyre pressure, the vehicle should be driven slowly to the nearest service stationand the tyre pressure checked and adjusted as required. If the valve cap is lost from any of thevalves, a replacement should be ob- tained and fitted at the first available opportunity. The valve cap preventsthe ingress of dirt which may cause the valve to stick and therefore leak and is part of the valve sealing function. Ensure that the spare wheel, jack and wheel nut wrench as well tools are correctly located in the boot of the vehicle to prevent damage and noise. OGK036605
IF YOUR VEHICLE MUST BE TOWED
D080A01O-EAT If your vehicle has to be towed, it should be done by your Hyundai authorised repairer or a commercial tow truck ser- vice. This will help assure that yourvehicle is not damaged in towing. Also, professionals are generally aware of local laws governing towing. In anycase, rather than risk damage to your car, it is suggested that you show this information to the tow truck operator.Be sure that a safety chain system is used and that all local laws are ob- served.It is recommended that your vehicle be towed with a wheel lift and dollies or flatbed equipment with all the wheelsoff the ground.
! CAUTION:
o Your vehicle can be damaged if towed incorrectly!
o Be sure the transaxle is in neu- tral.
o When the engine will not start, be
sure the steering is unlocked by placing the key in the "ACC" po- sition.

It is the responsibility of the vehicle owner to ensure that the maintenance schedules shown in both this OwnersManual and the Warranty and Service Passport are adhered to. The new vehicle warranty may be invalidated if the routine maintenance operations are not performed in line with the recommendations outlined andthe safety and durability of the vehicle adversely affected. It is recommended that all mainte- nance operations with the exception of the daily operating checks are en-trusted to a Hyundai authorised re- pairer to ensure that the latest repair and maintenance procedures andspecialised servicing tools are em- ployed. In addition, the use of genuine Hyundai replacement parts will ensurethat the vehicle safety and perfor- mance will not be compromised. NOTE:
The inspection and testing of cer-
tain electronic fuel injection/enginemanagement and automatic trans- mission control systems requirespecialised electronic equipment specifically designed for Hyundai vehicles. The use of general pur-pose electrical test equipment may result in damage to the control unit microprocessors. SF020C2-E
Specified Scheduled Procedures
The Specified scheduled procedures
are listed in the maintenance charts beginning at page 5-4. The operations specified must be performed at thetime or mileage intervals shown irre- spective of whether the mileage inter- val has been reached before the speci-fied time interval.
Certain lubricants and components
degrade with both time and mileage (e.g. engine oil and brake fluid) and therefore it is not permissable to basethe maintenance schedule upon mile- age alone. It is strongly recommended that the maintenance operations areperformed by the factory-trained or distributor-trained technicians at your Hyundai authorised repairer becauseof the need for specialised knowledge and tooling and to ensure that no possibility of invalidating the manufac-turers warranty exists. The maintenance schedules relate to
vehicles operated under normal condi-tions, vehicles which are operated under adverse conditions will require more frequent maintenance which isdescribed at page 5-7.
