B170A04A-AAT Height Adjustable Front Seat Shoulder Belt (If installed)
WARNING:
o The height adjuster must be in the locked position when the vehicle is moving.
o The misadjustment of height of
the shoulder belt could reduce theeffectiveness of the seat belt in a crash.

You can adjust the height of the shoul-der belt anchor to one of the 4 positionsfor maximum comfort and safety. If the height of the adjusting seat belt is too near your neck, you will not begetting the most effective protection. The shoulder portion should be ad- justed so that it lies across your chestand midway over your shoulder nearest the door and not your neck. To adjust the height of the seat beltanchor, lower or raise the height ad- juster into an appropriate position. To raise the height adjuster, pull it up. Tolower it, push it down while pressing the height adjuster button. Release the button to lock the anchor into position. Try sliding the height ad-juster to make sure that it has locked into the position.B180A02A-GAT SEAT BELTS-Driver's and Passenger's 3-Point System withWebbing Clamp Locking Retrac-tor (If Installed)To Fasten Your Belt To fasten your seat belt, pull it out of the retractor and insert the metal tab intothe buckle. There will be an audible "click" when the tab locks into the buckle.The seat belt automatically adjusts to the proper length only after the lap belt is adjusted manually so that it fitssnugly around your hips. If you lean forward in a slow, easy motion, the belt will extend and let you move around.

B200A01S-GAT Adjusting Your Seat Belt You should place the belt as low as possible on your hips, not on your waist. If the belt is located too high onyour body, you could slide under it in case of accident or a sudden stop. This could result of death, seriousinjury or property damage. Both arms should not be under or over the belt. Rather, one should be over and theother under, as shown in the illustra- tion. Never wear the seat belt under the armnearest the door. B200A01NFIf there is a sudden stop or impact, however, the belt will lock into position.It will also lock if you try to lean forward too quickly. B180A02Y-GAT SEAT BELTS-3-Point System with Emergency Locking Retrac- tor (If Installed) To Fasten Your Belt
The seat belt automatically adjusts to the proper length only after the lap beltis adjusted manually so that it fits snugly around your hips. If you lean forward in a slow, easy motion, the beltwill extend and let you move around. If there is a sudden stop or impact, how- ever, the belt will lock into position. Itwill also lock if you try to lean forward too quickly. Check to make sure that the belt is properly locked and that thebelt is not twisted.

On each side of the rear seat, between the cushion and backrest, are located a pair of ISOFIX anchorage points together with a top tether mounting onthe luggage compartment. During the installing, the seat has to be engaged at the anchorage-points in a way youcan hear it clicking (check by pulling!) and has to be fixed with the Top Tether- belt on the belonging point in the lug-gage-compartment. The installing and the use of a child-seat has to be done according to the installing-manual,which is added to the ISOFIX-seat. B230D02GK

ISOFIX Anchor Position Indicator
An ISOFIX-seat can only be installed if it has vehicle-specific approval in ac-cordance with the requirements of ECE-R44. For your Hyundai, the Hyundai ISOFIX GR1 / Hyundai Duo /Römer ISOFIX GR1 and the Römer Duo ISOFIX / Britax Duo ISOFIX is approved according to the requirementECE-R44. This seat has been tested extensively by Hyundai and is recom- mended for your Hyundai. NOTE: At present, this seat is the only one complying with that provision. In case that other manufacturers willfurnish proof of a respective certifi- cation, Hyundai is going to evalu- ate this seat carefully and will givea recommendation provided that seat complies to the law. Please ask your Hyundai dealer in this respect.B230D01GK-GAT Securing a Child Restraint Sys- tem with "ISOFIX" System and"Tether Anchorage" System
ISOFIX is a standardised method of fitting child seats that eliminates the need to use the standard adult seat belt to secure the seat in the vehicle.This enables a much more secure and positive location with the added benefit of easier and quicker installation. B230F01GK

!WARNING:
o Extreme Hazard! Do not use a rear- ward facing child restraint on a seat protected by an airbag in front of it!
o Do not install a child restraint sys- tem in the front passenger seatposition. A child restraint system must never be placed in the frontseat. The infant or child could be severely injured by an airbag de- ployment in case of an accident. o Modification to SRS components
or wiring, including the addition of any kind of badges to the pad covers or modifications to the bodystructure, can adversely affect SRS performance and lead to possible injury.
o For cleaning the airbag pad cov- ers, use only a soft, dry cloth orone which has been moistenedwith plain water. Solvents or clean- ers could adversely affect the airbag covers and proper deploy-ment of the system.
o No objects should be placed over
or near the airbag modules on thesteering wheel, instrument panel, and the front passenger's panel above the glove box, because anysuch object could cause harm if the vehicle is in a crash severe enough to cause the airbags toinflate.
o If the airbags inflate, they must be
replaced by an authorized Hyundaidealer.
o Do not tamper with or disconnect SRS wiring, or other components of the SRS system. Doing so couldresult in injury, due to accidental firing of the airbags or by render- ing the SRS inoperative.
o If components of the airbag sys- tem must be discarded, or if thevehicle must be scrapped, certainsafety precautions must be ob- served. Your Hyundai dealer knows these precautions and cangive you the necessary informa- tion. Failure to follow these pre- cautions and procedures couldincrease the risk of personal in- jury.
o If you sell your vehicle, make cer- tain that this manual is transferredto the new owner.
o If your car was flooded and has soaked carpeting or water on floor-ing, you shouldn't try to start en- gine; have the car towed to autho-rized Hyundai dealer.

The system automatically turns off the small light when the driver re-moves the ignition key and opens the driver- side door.
o With this feature, the parklight will be
turned off automatically if the driverparks on the side of road at night.
If necessary, to keep the lights on whenthe ignition key is removed, perform the following :
1) Open the driver-side door.
2) Turn the parklights OFF and ON again using the light switch on the steering column.
B340F01A-GAT Daytime Running Lights (If Installed) Your Hyundai is equipped with daytime running lights. The daytime running lightsare used to improve visibility for oncom- ing traffic. Your vehicle daytime running lights are designed to remain on continu-ously when the engine is operating even though the headlight switch is in the "OFF" position. However, the daytimerunning lights will be off while the parking brake is applied. B340D01A-AAT High-beam Switch To turn on the headlight high beams, push the lever forward (away fromyou). The high beam indicator light will come on at the same time. For low beams, pull the lever back toward you. B340G01LZ-GAT Auto Light (If installed) To operate the automatic light feature, turn the barrel on the end of the multi-function switch. If you set the multi- function switch to "AUTO", the tail lights and headlights will be turnedautomatically on or off according to external illumination.

o Never place anything over sen-
sor located on the instrument panel, this will ensure better auto light system control.
o Don't clean the sensor using a window cleaner.

B350B01O-AAT Windshield Washer Operation To use the windshield washer, pull the wiper/washer lever toward the steer-ing wheel. When the washer lever is operated, the wipers automatically make two passes across the wind-shield. The washer continues to oper- ate until the lever is released. OGK047048
WINDSHIELD WIPER AND WASHER SWITCH
B340E01A-AAT Headlight Flasher To flash the headlights, pull the switch lever toward you, then release it. The headlights can be flashed even thoughthe headlight switch is in the "OFF" position. B350A01A-AAT The windshield wiper switch has three positions:
(1) Intermittent wiper operation
(2) Low-speed operation
(3) High-speed operation NOTE: To prevent damage to the wiper system, do not attempt to wipe away heavy accumulations of snow or ice. Accumulated snow and iceshould be removed manually. If there is only a light layer of snowor ice, operate the heater in thedefrost mode to melt the snow or ice before using the wiper.

B460D03GK-AAT Manual Operation of Sunroof If the sunroof does not electrically op- erate:
1. Remove the cap located in the rear roof panel by using a coin or screw driver. 2. Insert the hexagonal head wrench
provided with the vehicle into the socket. This wrench can be found in the vehicle's trunk or glove box.
3. Push and turn the wrench clockwise
to close or counterclockwise to openthe sunroof.

OGK046021 B460E03GK-GAT Resetting the Sunroof System If the battery has been recharged, disconnected or if the sunroof is oper-ated with the hexagonal head wrench manually, you may need to reset the sunroof. To do this;
1. Turn the ignition switch "OFF".
2. With pressing " " "up" button at the
same time, turn the ignition switch"ON". The resetting is failed when the ignition key to the "OFF" within1.5 seconds.
3. If the sunroof is set like this, the sunroof is reset with tilting up/down automatically once for all.
CAUTION:
If the sunroof is not reset, it may not be operated properly.
