WARNING
If an air bag deploys, there
may be a loud noise followed
by a fine dust released in the
vehicle. These conditions are
normal and are not hazardous
- the air bags are packed in this
fine powder. The dust generat-
ed during air bag deployment
may cause skin or eye irrita-
tion as well as aggravate asth-
ma for some persons. Always
wash all exposed skin areas
thoroughly with lukewarm
water and a mild soap after an
accident in which the air bags
were deployed.

The SRS can function onlywhen the ignition switch is in
the ON position. If the SRS air
bag warning light " " does
not illuminate, or continuous-
ly remains on after illuminat-
ing for about 6 seconds when
the ignition switch is turned to
the ON position, or after the
engine is started, comes on
while driving, the SRS is not
working properly. If this
occurs, have your vehicle
immediately inspected by an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Before you replace a fuse or disconnect a battery terminal,
turn the ignition switch to the
LOCK position and remove
the ignition key. Never remove
or replace the air bag related
fuse(s) when the ignition
switch is in the ON position.
Failure to heed this warning
will cause the SRS “AIR BAG”
warning light to illuminate.(Continued)
When installing a container ofliquid air freshener inside the
vehicle, do not place it near
the instrument cluster nor on
the instrument panel surface.
It may become a dangerous
projectile and cause injury if the
passenger's air bag inflates.

CAUTION
To prevent possible damageto the power window system,do not open or close two win-dows or more at the sametime. This will also ensure thelongevity of the fuse.
Never try to operate the main switch on the driver's doorand the individual door win-dow switch in opposing direc-tions at the same time. If thisis done, the window will stopand cannot be opened orclosed.
WARNING - Windows
Never leave the keys in your vehicle with unsupervised
children, when the Engine is
running.
NEVER leave any child unat- tended in the vehicle. Even
very young children may inad-
vertently cause the vehicle to
move, entangle themselves in
the windows, or otherwise
injure themselves or others.
Always double check to make sure all arms, hands, head
and other obstructions are
safely out of the way before
closing a window.
Do not allow children to play with the power windows. Keep
the driver’s door power win-
dow lock switch in the LOCK
position (depressed). Serious
injury can result from uninten-
tional window operation by
the child.
Do not extend a face or arms outside through the window
opening while driving.

Sunshade
The sunshade will automatically
open with the glass panel when the
glass panel moves. Close it manually
if you want it closed.
Resetting the sunroof
Sunroof needs to be reset if (in the
followings)
- Battery is discharged or discon-
nected or the related fuse has been
replaced or disconnected
- The one-touch sliding function of the sunroof does not normally oper-
ate
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Close the sunroof completely.
3. Release the sunroof control switch.
4. Pull and hold the sunroof control switch downward until the sunroof
has returned to the original posi-
tion of tilt after it is raised a little
higher than the maximum tilt posi-
tion. Then, release the switch.
CAUTION
The sunroof is made to slidetogether with the sunshade. Donot leave the sunshade closedwhile the sunroof is open.

WARNING - Sunroof
Be careful that no heads, hands and body parts are
obstructing a closing sunroof.
Do not extend the face, neck, arms or body outside the sun-
roof while driving.
Make sure your hands and head are safely out of the way
before closing a sunroof.
CAUTION
Periodically remove any dirt that may accumulate on theguide rail.
If you try to open the sunroof when the temperature isbelow freezing or when thesunroof is covered with snowor ice, the glass or the motorcould be damaged.
While using sunroof for a long time, a dust between sunroofand roof panel can make anoise. Open the sunroof andregularly remove the dustusing clean cloth.

5. Pull and hold the sunroof controlswitch downward until the sunroof
is operated as follows;
TILT DOWN → SLIDE OPEN →
SLIDE CLOSE
Then, release the switch.
When this is complete, the sunroof
system is reset.

Power steering uses energy from the
engine to assist you in steering the
vehicle. If the engine is off or if the
power steering system becomes
inoperative, the vehicle may still be
steered, but it will require increased
steering effort.
Should you notice any change in the
effort required to steer during normal
vehicle operation, have the power
steering checked by an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer.

NOTICE
If the power steering drive belt
breaks or if the power steering
pump malfunctions, the steering
effort will greatly increase.
✽ ✽NOTICE
If the vehicle is parked for extended
periods outside in cold weather
(below -14°F/10°C), the power steer-
ing may require increased effort
when the engine is first started. This
is caused by increased fluid viscosity
due to the cold weather and does not
indicate a malfunction.
When this happens, increase the
engine RPM by depressing accelera-
tor until the RPM reaches 1,500 rpm
then release or let the engine idle for
two or three minutes to warm up the
fluid.
CAUTION
Never hold the steering wheel
against a stop (extreme right orleft turn) for more than 5 sec-onds with the engine running.Holding the steering wheel formore than 5 seconds in eitherposition may cause damage tothe power steering pump.CAUTION
If the sunroof is not reset whenthe vehicle battery is discon-nected or discharged, or relatedfuse is blown, the sunroof mayoperate improperly.

driver to turn on the fuse switch in
the instrument panel under the steer-
ing wheel.

engine (for auto transmission)
If you try to start the engine with the
shift lever not in the P(Park) or
N(Neutral) position, the warning illu-
minates for about 10 seconds on the
LCD display.
You can also start the engine with
the shift lever in the N(Neutral) posi-
tion, but for your safety start the
engine with the shift lever in the
P(Park) position.
When the stop lamp switch fuse is
disconnected, the warning illumi-
nates for 10 seconds on the LCD dis-
play.
Replace the fuse with a new one. If
that is not possible you can start the
engine by pressing the engine
start/stop button for 10 seconds in
ACC.Low tire pressure (if equipped)
The low tire pressure position telltale
will appear when one or more of your
tires are under-inflated. It will indicate
the corresponding under-inflated tire.

section 6.

Power outlet
The power outlet is designed to pro-
vide power for mobile telephones or
other devices designed to operate
with vehicle electrical systems. The
devices should draw less than 10
amps with the engine running.
Digital clock
Whenever the battery terminals or
related fuses are disconnected, you
must reset the time.
WARNING
Do not adjust the clock while
driving. You may lose your
steering control and cause an
accident that results in severe
personal injury or death.

CAUTION
Use the power outlet only when
the engine is running andremove the accessory plugafter use. Using the accessoryplug for prolonged periods oftime with the engine off couldcause the battery to discharge.

Adjust the air-conditioner or heater to the lowest operatinglevel when using the poweroutlet.
Close the cover when not in use.

Do not put a finger or foreign
elements (pin, etc.) into a power
outlet and do not touch with a
wet hand. You may get an elec-

• If the battery is weak or the smart
key does not work correctly, you
can start the engine by inserting
the smart key into the smart key
holder. Push the cover to open the
cover. To eject the smart key from
the smart key holder, press the
smart key inward past the detent
and then pull the key outward.
When you don’t use the smart key

• When the stop lamp fuse is blown
on automatic transmission vehi-
cles, you can't start the engine
normally. Replace the fuse with a
new one. If you are not able to
replace the fuse, you can start the
engine by pressing the engine
start/stop button for 10 seconds
with the engine start/stop button
in the ACC.
CAUTION
Do not press the engine
start/stop button for morethan 5 seconds except whenthe stop lamp fuse is blown.
When you eject the smart key from the smart key holder, pressthe smart key inward and pull itout. If you pull out the smart keyforcibly without pushing thesmart key, the smart key holdermay be damaged and will notoperate normally.
