Features of your vehicle
When the steering mode button is
pressed, the selected steering mode
will appear on the cluster.
If the steering mode button is pressed
within 4 seconds, the steering mode
will change as shown above. If the
steering wheel mode button is not
pressed for about 4 seconds, the clus-
ter will change to the previous screen.
NORMAL mode
The NORMAL mode offers medium
steering effort.
SPORT mode
The steering effort becomes heavier.

This indicator displays which auto-
matic transaxle shift lever is selected.

Manual Transaxle Shift Indicator

This indicator displays the recom-
mended gear to change to, to save
fuel.

ECO indicator
(if equipped)
The ECO indicator is a system that
informs you to drive economically.
When ON, it is displayed when you
drive fuel efficiently.
• The ECO indicator (green) will turn
on when you are driving fuel effi-
ciently in the ECO ON mode.
If you don't want the indicator dis-
played, turn the ECO ON mode to
OFF mode by pressing the RESET
button of the trip computer for more
than 1 second.
• Fuel-efficiency can be altered by
the driver's driving habits and road
conditions.
• It does not function when in P
(Park), N (Neutral), R (Reverse) or
sports mode.
• Whilst the instant fuel consumption
mode is displayed on the LCD
screen, the ECO indicator turns off.
Immobiliser Indicator
Light (without smart
key) (if equipped)
This indicator light illuminates:
When the vehicle detects the immo-
biliser in your key whilst the ignition
switch is ON.
- At this time, you can start the
engine.
- The indicator light goes off after
starting the engine.
This indicator light blinks:
When there is a malfunction with the
immobiliser system.
In this case, we recommend that you
have the vehicle inspected by an
authorised HYUNDAI dealer.
ECOWARNING
Don't keep watching the indica-
tor whilst driving. It will distract
you whilst driving and cause an
accident that may result in
severe personal injury.

D (Drive)
This is the normal driving position.
The transaxle will automatically shift
through a 6-gear sequence, provid-
ing the best fuel economy and
power.
For extra power when passing anoth-
er vehicle or driving uphill, press the
accelerator fully. The transaxle will
automatically downshift to the next
lower gear (or gears, as appropri-
ate).
Sports mode
Whether the vehicle is stationary or
in motion, sports mode is selected by
pushing the shift lever from the D
(Drive) position into the manual gate.
To return to D (Drive) range opera-
tion, push the shift lever back into the
main gate.In Sports Mode, moving the shift
lever backwards and forwards will
allow you to select the desired range
of gears for the current driving condi-
tions.
+ (Up) : Push the lever forward once
to shift up one gear.
- (Down) : Pull the lever backwards
once to shift down one
gear.

Parking
Always come to a complete stop and
continue to press the brake pedal.
Move the shift lever into the P (Park)
position, apply the parking brake,
and place the ignition switch in the
LOCK/OFF position. Take the key
with you when exiting the vehicle.
Good driving practices
• Never move the shift lever from P
(Park) or N (Neutral) to any other
position with the accelerator pedal
depressed.
• Never move the shift lever into P
(Park) when the vehicle is in
motion.
Be sure the vehicle is completely
stopped before you attempt to shift
into R (Reverse) or D (Drive).
• Do not move the shift lever to N
(Neutral) when driving. Doing so
may result in an accident because
of a loss of engine braking and the
transaxle could be damaged.
• Do not drive with your foot resting
on the brake pedal. Even light, but
consistent pedal pressure can
result in the brakes overheating,
brake wear and possibly even
brake failure.
• When driving in sports mode, slow
down before shifting to a lower
gear. Otherwise, the lower gear
may not be engaged if the engine
rpms are outside of the allowable
range.• Always apply the parking brake
when leaving the vehicle. Do not
depend on placing the transmis-
sion in P (Park) to keep the vehicle
from moving.
• Exercise extreme caution when
driving on a slippery surface. Be
especially careful when braking,
accelerating or shifting gears. On a
slippery surface, an abrupt change
in vehicle speed can cause the
drive wheels to lose traction and
may cause loss of vehicle control
resulting in an accident
• Optimum vehicle performance and
economy is obtained by smoothly
pressing and releasing the acceler-
ator.
WARNING
When you stay in the vehicle
with the engine running, be
careful not to press the acceler-
ator pedal for a long period of
time. The engine or exhaust
system may overheat and start
a fire.
The exhaust petrol and the
exhaust system are very hot.
Keep away from the exhaust
system components.
Do not stop or park over flam-
mable materials, such as dry
grass, paper or leaves. They
may ignite and cause a fire.

Cruise control will be
cancelled when:
• Pressing the brake pedal.
• Pressing the CANCEL switch
located on the steering wheel.
• Pushing the CRUISE (ON/OFF)
button. Both the CRUISE indicator
and the SET indicator will turn
OFF.• Pressing the clutch pedal.
(for manual transaxle vehicle)
• Moving the shift lever into N
(Neutral).
(for automatic transaxle vehicle)
• Decreasing the vehicle speed
lower than the memory speed by
20 km/h.
• Decreasing the vehicle speed to
less than approximately 30 km/h.
• The ESC (Electronic Stability
Control) is operating (if equipped).
• Downshifting to the 2nd gear with
sports mode.
✽NOTICE
Each of the previous actions will
cancel cruise control operation (the
SET indicator light in the instru-
ment cluster will go off), but only
pressing the CRUISE (ON/OFF)
button will turn the system off. If
you wish to resume cruise control
operation, push the RES+ switch
located on your steering wheel. You
will return to your previously preset
speed, unless the system was turned
off using the CRUISE (ON/OFF)
button.
