POWER STEERING FLUID
Checking the power steering fluid
level
With the vehicle on level ground, check
the fluid level in the power steering reser-
voir periodically. The fluid should be
between MAX and MIN marks on the
side of the gauge at the normal tempera-
ture.
Before adding power steering fluid, thor- oughly clean the area around the reser-
voir cap to prevent power steering fluidcontamination.
If the level is low, add fluid to the MAX
level.
✽✽ NOTICE - (if equipped)
Check that the fluid level is in the "HOT" range on the gauge. If the fluidis cold, check that it is in the "COLD"range.
In the event the power steering system
requires frequent additions of fluid, werecommend that the system be inspect-
ed by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Use only the specified power steering fluid. (Refer to "Recommended lubricants
or capacities" in section 8.)
Checking the power steering hose
Check the connections for oil leaks, dam-
age and twists in the power steering
hose before driving.
CAUTION
To avoid damage to the power steering pump, do not operate the
vehicle for prolonged periods with a low power steering fluidlevel.
Never start the engine when the reservoir tank is empty.
When adding fluid, be careful that dirt does not get into the tank.
Too little fluid can result in increased steering effort and/ornoise from the power steering
system.
The use of the non-specified fluid could reduce the effectiveness ofthe power steering system andcause damage to it.

Tire replacement
If the tire is worn evenly, a tread wear indicator will appear as a solid band
across the tread. This shows there isless than 1.6 mm (1/16 inch) of tread
left on the tire. Replace the tire when
this happens.
Do not wait for the band to appear
across the entire tread before replac-
ing the tire.Because your vehicle is equipped
with the asymmetric tire, when you
replace the tire, set the inside and
outside of the tire.
The mark INSIDE(1) and OUT-
SIDE(2) is inscribed on the side of
the tire.
The mark INSIDE(1) should be
inside of the vehicle and the markOUTSIDE(2) should be outside of
the vehicle.

- Replacing
tires
To reduce the chance or serious
or fatal injuries from an acci-
dent caused by tire failure or
loss of vehicle control:
Replace tires that are worn, show uneven wear, or are
damaged. Worn tires can
cause loss of braking effec-
tiveness, steering control, andtraction.
Do not drive your vehicle with too little or too much pressure
in your tires. This can lead to
uneven wear and tire failure.
When replacing tires, never mix radial and bias-ply tires
on the same car. You must
replace all tires (including the
spare) if moving from radial to
bias-ply tires.

✽✽NOTICE
If the headlight aiming adjustment is
necessary after the headlight assembly is
reinstalled, we recommend that you con-
sult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
❋❋ Traffic Change (For Europe)
The low beam light distribution is asym-
metric.
If you go abroad to a country with oppo-
site traffic direction, this asymmetric part
will dazzle oncoming car driver. To pre-
vent dazzle, these headlamps are
designed not to dazzle opposite drivers.
So, you need not change your head-
lamps in a country with opposite trafficdirection.
Turn signal light bulb replacement
8. Remove the socket from the assembly by turning the socket counter clock-
wise until the tabs on the socket align
with the slots on the assembly.
9. Remove the bulb from the socket by pressing it in and rotating it until the
tabs on the bulb align with the slots in
the socket. Pull the bulb out of the
socket.
10. Insert a new bulb by inserting it into the socket and rotating it until it locks
into place.
11. Install the socket into the assembly by aligning the tabs on the socket
with the slots in the assembly. Push
the socket into the assembly and turn
the socket clockwise.
Front fog light bulb replacement
1. Turn the steering wheel fully. (If youwant to replace driver side fog lamp,
turn the steering wheel to the front
passenger side.)
2. Open the hood.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Loosen the retaining bolt on the serv- ice cover. And then pull down the serv-
ice cover.
