If the oil pressure light illuminates when the engine is running, an in-sufficient oil pressure level for con-tinued safe operation of the engine exists. Continued operation of the engine in this condition may resultin serious engine damage. Under normal circumstances, the light will illuminate when the igni- tion is turned "on" and will be extin- guished when the engine is started.If the oil pressure warning light illu-minates whilst the engine is run-ning, stop the engine immediatelyand check the engine oil level. If the level is insufficient, add the required amount of oil as indicated by theengine oil dipstick. If the light fails to extinguish when the engine is re-started, do not continue to operatethe vehicle.If the oil pressure light illuminatesduring normal operation and the cause is not an insufficient oil level, or the light fails to illuminate whenthe ignition is turned "on", contactthe nearest Hyundai dealer beforefurther operating the vehicle.
Warning light operation The parking brake/brake fluid level warn- ing light will be illuminated wheneverthe ignition switch is turned to the "ON"position irrespective of whether or notthe parking brake is applied and must be extinguished when the engine starts and the parking brake released.If the warning light fails to extinguish orilluminates at any other time, the ve-hicle must be brought to rest in a safelocation and the level of brake fluid in the reservoir checked. If the fluid level is incorrect, fluid conforming to DOT 3or DOT 4 specifications should be added.If, after correcting the brake fluid level,the warning light continues to be illumi-nated, the advice of the nearest Hyundai dealer must be sought before the ve- hicle is driven again.

The charging system warning light should illuminate when the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position and should be extinguished when theengine is started. LOW FUEL LEVEL WARNING LIGHT
The low fuel warning light serves to warn the driver that the remaining fuelquantity is approximately 9 litres andthat the vehicle should be refuelled. Ifthe vehicle is driven for an extendedperiod with the low fuel warning light illuminated there exists a possibility that misfiring due to fuel shortage mayoccur. This situation must be avoidedto prevent damage to the catalyst oc-curring.

The indicator light illuminates amber when the ignition switch is placed atthe "ON" position. The engine can bestarted after the pre-heat indicator lightgoes off. The illuminating time varieswith the water temperature, air tem- perature and battery condition. NOTE: If the engine were not started 10 seconds after the preheating is com-pleted, turn the ignition key oncemore to the "LOCK" position, andthen to the "ON" position, in order to preheat again.

This indicator light comes on for some seconds after the ignition key is turnedto the "ON" position. At this time, you can start the engine. The light goes out after the engine is running. In case thislight goes out before you start the en-gine, you must turn to the "LOCK"position and restart the engine. In casethis light blinks for five seconds when the ignition key is turned to "ON" posi- tion, this indicates that the immobilizersystem is out of order. At this time,consult to the Hyundai dealer.

SB210S1-E BRAKE PAD WEAR INDICATOR The front brake disc pads are fitted with an audible wear indicator which willcause a high pitched noise to be emit-ted when the remaining amount of fric-tion lining is below the specified value. When the wear indicator is heard, the brake pads should be replaced withoutdelay to avoid damage occurring to thebrake discs and a severe reduction inbraking efficiency.
B900A01A-EAT ACOUSTIC WARNING SOUND (Not all models) The acoustic warning chime sounds when the tail lights are on and the doorin driver side is open. o Calculation Method SB220A1-E MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH Turn Signal Operation To signal an intention to turn right, the switch lever should be pressed down. To signal an intention to turn left, theswitch lever should be pushed upwards.In both instances, the turn signal lightson one side of the car will flash and thewarning light located in the instrument cluster will flash in sympathy. Upon completion of the manoeuvre, the leverwill, under normal circumstances, re-turn to the "Off" position. However, ifthe manoeuvre involved only a small movement of the steering wheel, the signal may need to be cancelled manu-ally. If either turn signal indicator flashesmore rapidly than normal or refuses toflash at all, a malfunction of the turnsignal system may exist. SB220B1-E Lane Change Signal To indicate an intention to change lanes, moving the lever slightly towards thedirection of the relevant turn signal will cause the turn signal lights to flash. When the lever is released, it will returnto the "off" position.

B340C01FC-EAT LIGHTING SWITCH
The vehicle sidelights and headlights are operated by rotating the end of theturn signal switch barrel. To operate the parking lights, rotating the switch to the first detent with ignition switch at the"OFF" position will cause the lights toilluminate. To operate the headlights,the turn signal switch barrel should berotated to the second detent. The head- lights will only operate when the ignition switch is at the "On" position. If theignition switch is turned to the "Off"position, only the parking lights willfunction. Parking light auto cut (Not all models) If you do not turn the parking lights "OFF" after driving, the parking light willautomatically shut "OFF" when thedriver's door is opened.To turn them "ON" again you must simply turn the ignition key to the "ON" position. SB220D1-E HIGH AND LOW BEAM To turn on the headlight high beams, push the lever forward (away from you). For low beams, pull the lever back (toward you). The appropriate headlightbeam indicator light will come on at thesame time.
SB220E1-E HEADLIGHT FLASH The headlights may be flashed by pull- ing the turn signal switch lever towardsthe steering wheel. The headlights will be extinguished when the switch is released.

SB230A1-E WINDSCREEN WIPER/ WASHER SWITCH The windscreen wiper switch, depen- dent upon model, has three operatingpositions.
1. Intermittent wiper operation.
(Not all models)
2. Low speed operation.
3. High speed operation. NOTE: To prevent damage to the wiper sys- tem, do not attempt to wipe awayheavy accumulations of snow or ice.Accumulated snow and ice should be removed manually. If there is onlya light layer of snow or ice, operatethe heater in the defrost mode to meltthe snow or ice before using thewiper.
NOTE:
o Do not operate the washer more
than 15 seconds at a time or when the fluid reservoir is empty.
o In icy or freezing weather, be sure the wiper blades are not frozen tothe glass prior to operating the wipers.
o In areas where water freezes in winter, use windscreen washer antifreeze.
Mist Wiper Operation

To use the windscreen washer, pull the wiper/washer lever toward the steeringwheel. When the washer lever is oper-ated, the wipers automatically make two passes across the windscreen. The washer continues to operate untilthe lever is released.

SB240A1-E HAZARD WARNING SYSTEM The hazard warning system should be used whenever it becomes necessaryto stop the car in a hazardous location. The hazard warning system is operated by depressing the switch at which timeall turn signal lights will flash simulta-neously and the turn signal warninglights located within the instrument clus-ter will flash simultaneously. SB250A1-E HEATED REAR WINDOW To operate the heated rear window de- press the switch shown. The heatedrear window will automatically turn offafter 20 minutes or when the ignition isturned off. The system may be turned off manually by depressing the switch again. HTB039CAUTION:
The inside of the rear windscreen should never be cleaned with a hard or sharp implement since damage tothe heating element may occur. Theglass should only be cleaned with asoft cloth or chamois leather with theuse only of a mild detergent or pro- prietary glass cleaner where neces- sary. Only horizontal movement ofthe cloth should be made when clean-ing the glass and care should beexercised to ensure that the heatingelements are not damaged by rings or jewellery whilst the glass is being cleaned. NOTE: The engine must be running for the heated rear window to operate.
