B420A02A-AAT CIGARETTE LIGHTER (If Installed) For the cigarette lighter to work, the key must be in the "ACC" position or the"ON" position. To use the cigarette lighter, push it all the way into its socket. When the ele-ment has heated, the lighter will pop out to the "ready" position. Do not hold the cigarette lighter pressedin. This can damage the heating ele- ment and create a fire hazard. If it is necessary to replace the ciga-rette lighter, use only a genuine Hyundai replacement or its approved equivalent. HHR2098A

B340G01S-GAT HEADLIGHT LEVELING DEVICE SYSTEM (If Installed) To adjust the headlight beam level ac- cording to the number of the passen- gers and the loading weight in the lug-gage area, turn the beam leveling switch. The higher the number of the switch position, the lower the headlight beamlevel. Always keep the headlight beam at the proper leveling position, or head- lights may dazzle other road users.Listed below are the examples of proper switch settings. For loading conditions other than those listed below, adjustthe switch position so that the beam level may be the nearest as the condi- tion obtained according to the list. B460B02GK-GAT Opening the Sunroof System The sunroof can be electrically opened or closed with the ignition key in the "ON" position. The sunroof is moved toits fully open position by pushing the "Open" switch, and to stop at the de- sired position, push in any switches(Open, Close, Up, Down). To close, press and hold the "CLOSE" button. Release the button when the sunroofreaches the desired position. HFC2021
WARNING:
o Do not close a sunroof if anyone’s hands, arms or body are between the sliding glass and the sunroofsash, as this could result in in- jury.
o Do not place your head or arms
out of the sunroof opening at anytime.
o While the vehicle is moving, al-
ways keep the head, hands andother parts of the body of all occu- pants away from the roof opening. Otherwise, you could be seriously injured if the vehicle stops sud-denly or if the vehicle is involved in an accident.
CAUTION:
o Do not open the sunroof in se- verely cold temperature or when it is covered with ice or snow.
o Periodically remove any dirt that may have accumulated on theguide rails.!

B460E02TB-GAT Resetting the Sunroof System If the battery has been recharged, dis- connected, or if the sunroof operation is stopped by that ignition key is turned tothe "OFF" position while it is moving, you may need to reset the sunroof. To do this;
1. Turn the ignition switch "OFF".
2. With pressing "open" "up" button at
the same time, turn the ignition switch "ON".
3. If the sunroof is set like this, the sunroof is reset with tilting up/downautomatically once for all.
! CAUTION:
If the sunroof is not reset, it may not be operated properly.

B480A01E-AAT FRONT INTERIOR LIGHT Map Light The two map light switches are located on both sides of the front overhead console. Push in the map light switch toturn the light on or off. This light pro- duces a spot beam for convenient use as a map light at night or as a personallight for the driver and the passenger.

B460C01GK-GAT Tilting the Sunroof System The sunroof is moved to its fully tilt up position by pushing the "UP" switch, and to stop at the desired position,push in any switches (Open, Close, Up, Down). To tilt down, press and hold the"DOWN" button. Release the button when the sunroof reaches the desired position. NOTE: After washing the car or after there is rain, be sure to wipe off any water that is on the sunroof before oper-ating it.

The interior courtesy light has a button of three positions. The three positionsare:
oDR Type A In the "DR" position, the interior cour- tesy light comes on when any door is opened regardless of the ignition keyposition. The light goes out when the door is closed.

B491A01TB-GAT SPECTACLE CASE (If Installed) The spectacle case is located on the driver side of roof trim.Pull the end of the cover to open the spectacle case.
Type B In the "DR" position, the interior cour- tesy light comes on when any door isopened regardless of the ignition key position. The light goes out gradually 6 seconds after the door is closed.
oON In the "ON" position, the light stays on at all times.
o OFF In the "OFF" position, the light stays off at all times even though a door is open.

HEATER (If Installed) The outside rearview mirror heater is actuated in connection with the rear window defroster. To heat the outsiderearview mirror glass, push in the switch for the rear window defroster. The rearview mirror glass will be heated fordefrosting or defogging and will give you improved rear vision in inclement weather conditions. Push the switchagain to turn the heater off. The out- side rearview mirror heater automati- cally turns itself off after 20 minutes. B510C01A-AAT FOLDING THE OUTSIDE REAR- VIEW MIRRORS To fold the outside rearview mirrors, push them towards the rear. The outside rearview mirrors can befolded rearward for parking in narrow areas.

Always engage the parking brake be- fore leaving the car. This also turns on the parking brake indicator light whenthe key is in the "ON" or "START" position. Before driving away, be sure that the parking brake is fully releasedand the indicator light is off.

Driving with the parking brake ap- plied will cause excessive brake pad (or lining) and brake rotor wear.! Releasing the parking brake To release the parking brake, first apply the foot brake and pull up the parkingbrake lever slightly. Secondly, depress the release button and lower the parking brake lever while holding the button.
WARNING:
Whenever leaving vehicle or parkingalways set the parking brake as far aspossible and fully engage the vehicle's transaxle into the park po- sition. Vehicles not fully engaged inpark with the parking brake set are at risk for moving inadvertently and injuring yourself or others.
Applying the parking brake To engage the parking brake, first apply the foot brake and then without press-ing the release button in, pull the park- ing brake lever up as far as possible. In addition it is recommended that whenparking the vehicle on a gradient, the shift lever should be positioned in the appropriate low gear on manual transaxlevehicles or in the P (Park) position on automatic transaxle vehicles.

WARNING:
o Always double check to be sure that the hood is firmly latched before driving away. If it is not latched, the hood could fly open while the vehicle is being driven,causing a total loss of visibility, which might result in an acci- dent.
o The support rod must be inserted completely into the hole providedin the hood whenever you in-spect the engine compartment. This will prevent the hood from falling and possibly injuring you.
o Do not move the vehicle with the hood in the raised position, asvision is obstructed and the hoodcould fall or be damaged.
Before closing the hood, return the support rod to its clip to prevent it from rattling. Lower the hood until it is about30 cm (1 ft.) above the closed position and let it drop. Make sure that it locks into place.

Make sure that the support rod has been released prior to closing thehood.
B560A02A-AAT REMOTE FUEL-FILLER LID RE- LEASE The fuel-filler lid may be opened from inside the vehicle by pulling up on thefuel-filler lid opener located on the front floor area on the left side of the car. NOTE: If the fuel-filler lid will not open be- cause ice has formed around it, tap lightly or push on the lid to break theice and release the lid. Do not pry on the lid. If necessary, spray around the lid with an approved de-icer fluid(do not use radiator anti-freeze) or move the vehicle to a warm place and allow the ice to melt. HTB115

o Automotive fuels are flammable/
explosive materials. When refuel- ing, please note the following guidelines carefully.
o Before touching the fuel nozzle or
fuel filler cap, have one's hands incontact with metal parts away from the filler neck to discharge staticelectricity.
o Do not get back in the vehicle
while refueling. Do not operateanything that can produce static electricity. Static electricity dis- charge can ignite fuel vapors re- sulting in explosion.
o When using a portable fuel con-
tainer be sure to place the con-tainer on the ground while refuel- ing. Static electricity dischargefrom the container can ignite fuel vapors causing a fire. While start- ing refueling contact should bemaintained until the filling is com- plete.
o Do not use cellular phones around
a gas station. The electric currentor electronic interference from cellular phones can ignite fuelvapors causing a fire.

o Gasoline vapors are dangerous. Before refueling, always stop the engine and never allow sparks or open flames near the filler area. If you need to replace the filler cap,use a genuine Hyundai replace- ment part. If you open the fuel filler cap dur-ing high ambient temperatures, a slight "pressure sound" may be heard. This is normal and not acause for concern. Whenever you open the fuel filler cap, turn it slowly.
o When refueling always shut the engine off. Sparks by electrical equipment of the engine can ig- nite fuel vapors causing a fire. After refueling, check to make surethe fuel filler cap is securely closed, and then start the engine.
o Do not smoke or try to light ciga- rettes around a gas station. Auto-motive fuels are flammable.
