1. Stop the vehicle.(0-3km/h)
2. Depress the clutch pedal (manual transmission) or put the shift lever into "N" position (automatic trans- mission).
3. Select the 4L mode switch.
4L 2H
1. Stop the vehicle.(0 - 3km/h)
2. Depress the clutch pedal (manual transmission) or put the shift lever into "N" position (automatic trans- mission).
3. Select the 2H mode switch.
NOTE: If the transfer shift is switched into 2H mode, while the vehicle is mak- ing a sharp turn or performingabrupt maneuver, the 4H indicator light in the instrument panel will turn off.However, the vehicle will still be in 4H mode. This condition is normal. When the vehicle returns to normaldriving condition, the 4WD system will automatically transfer to the 2H mode.
4H 4L or 4L 4H

o The driving posture should be more
upright and closer to the wheel than usual; adjust the seat to a good position for easy steering and pedal operation.
o Be sure to wear the seat belt.
o Drive carefully when off the road
and avoid dangerous areas.
o 4WD has higher ground clearance and a narrower track to make them capable of performing in a widevariety of off road applications. Spe- cific design characteristics give them a higher center of gravity than ordi-nary cars. An advantage of the higher ground clearance is a better view of the road allowing you to anticipateproblems. They are not designed for cornering at the same speeds as conventional 2-wheel drive vehiclesany more than low-slung sports cars are designed to perform satisfacto- rily under off-road conditions. If at allpossible, avoid sharp turns or abrupt maneuvers. As with other vehicles of this type, failure to operate thisvehicle correctly may result in loss of control or vehicle rollover.

Raise the car high enough so that the fully inflated spare tire can be installed.To do this, you will need more ground clearance than is required to remove the flat tire. Using the jack handle, turn the release valve counterclockwise slow to lower the ram, and then take out the jack.Press the piston down all the way and turn the release valve clockwise as far as possible. CAUTION:
o Use only the jack included with the vehicle and use it only for changing a wheel.
o Position the jack on a hard level
surface.
o If the release valve is loosened
by turning it 2 or more times in the counterclockwise direction, the jack’s oil will leak and the jack cannot be used.
o This jack is hydraulic, and the ram is a two-stage type. Whenboth rams are raised and the stopmark(Green paint) of the upper

ram becomes visible, stop jack- ing immediately.Further extension of the ram may damage the jack.
o When the jack is used, be sure
that there is no one in or underthe vehicle.
o When jacking up the vehicle, do so only until the tires are slightlylifted from the ground. It is dan- gerous to jack up the vehiclemore than that much.
o It is very dangerous if the jack
somehow slips, so never leavethe vehicle in the jacked-up posi- tion, and never shake the vehicle while it is raised.
WARNING:
Do not get under the car when it is supported by the jack! This is very dangerous as the vehicle could falland cause serious injury or death. No one should stay in the car while the jack is being used.
