Your Owner's Manual will introduce you to the features and operation of your new Hyundai. It is suggested that you read it carefully because the information it contains can contribute greatly to the satisfaction you receive from your new car. The manufacturer also recommends that all service and maintenance on your car be performed by an authorized Hyundai dealer. Hyundai dealers are prepared to provide high-quality service, maintenance and any other assistance that may be required.

Severe engine and transmission damage may result from the use of poor quality fuels and lubricants that do not meet Hyundai specifications. You must always use high quality fuels and lubricants that meet the specifications listed on Page 9-4 in the Vehicle Specifications section of the Owner's Manual.

1.What are Hyundai Genuine Parts?Hyundai Genuine Parts are the same parts used by Hyundai Motor Com- pany to manufacture vehicles. They are designed and tested for theoptimum safety, performance, and reliability to our customers.
2. Why should you use genuine parts? Hyundai Genuine Parts are engi- neered and built to meet rigid manu-facturing requirements. Using imi- tation, counterfeit or used salvage parts are not covered under the Hyundai New Vehicle Limited War-ranty or any other Hyundai war- ranty. In addition, any damage to or failure of Genuine Hyundai Partscaused by the installation or failure of an imitation, counterfeit or used salvage part is not covered byHyundai Motor Company.
3. How can you tell if you purchasing Hyundai Genuine Parts? Look for the Hyundai Genuine Parts Logo on the package (see below). The export specifications are writ- ten in English only. Hyundai Genuine Parts are onlysold through authorized Hyundai Dealership and Service Center.

B010A02CM-GAT Use Unleaded Gasoline For Europe
– For the optimal vehicle
performance, we recommend you to use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of RON (Research Octane Num- ber) 95 /AKI (Anti Knock Index) 91 orhigher. You may use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of RON 91~94/AKI 87~90but it may result in slight performance reduction of the vehicle. Except Europe – Unleaded gasoline
with a Pump Octane Rating of 87 (Re- search Octane Number 91) or highermust be used in Hyundai vehicle. If leaded gasoline is used, it will cause the catalytic converter to become inef- fective and the emission control sys- tem to malfunction.This can also result in increased main- tenance expense. To avoid accidental use of leaded fuel, the large nozzleused with leaded gasoline at service stations can not be inserted into fuel tank opening of Hyundai vehicle. NOTE:
o For some countries, Hyundai ve-
hicles are designed to use leaded gasoline. When you are going touse leaded gasoline, ask to Hyundai dealer whether leaded gasoline in your vehicle is avail-able or not.
o Octane rating of leaded gasoline
is same with unleaded one.
Use Diesel Diesel fuel Diesel engine must be operated only on commercially available diesel fuel thatcomplies with EN 590 or comparable standard. (EN stands for "European Norm"). Do not use marine diesel fuel,heating oils, or non-approved fuel addi- tives, as this will increase wear and cause damage to the engine and fuelsystem. The use of non-approved fuels and / or fuel additives will result in a limitation of your warranty rights.Diesel fuel of 52 to 54 cetane is used in Hyundai vehicle. If two types of diesel fuel are available, use summer or winterfuel properly according to the following temperature conditions. CAUTION:
Do not let any gasoline or water enterthe tank. This would make it neces- sary to drain it out and to bleed thelines to avoid jamming the injection pump and damaging the engine.

FUEL RECOMMENDATIONS
o Above -5°C (23°F) ... Summer typediesel fuel.
o Below -5°C (23°F) ... Winter type diesel fuel.
Watch the fuel level in the tank very carefully : If the engine stops through fuel failure, the circuits must be com-pletely purged to permit restarting.

B030A01P-GAT BEFORE OPERATION PRECAUTIONS FOR NEWVEHICLE The performance and life of a vehicle depend largely on how the vehicle is handled when new.To maintain the parts smoothly and sustain high performance for a long time to come, be sure to observe thefollowing points. Make sure that your vehicle does not miss the first 5,000 km inspec- tions. After the first 5,000 km of driving, take your vehicle to your nearest service shop for inspection. B055A02P-GAT LOADING YOUR VEHICLE Never load the luggage and people to exceed GVWR(MLW) and GAWR ofyour vehicle. You can find the GVWR(MLW) and GAWR -maximum loading capacities-on the VIN plate. The GVWR(Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) or MLW(Maximum LoadedWeight) means total weight of the ve- hicle, all occupants, fuel and cargo. And GAWR means the maximumweights that the front and rear axles can endure the weights including ve- hicle itself weight.
WARNING:
Improperly loading your car canseriously affect its steering and braking performance causing a crash in which you may be seri-ously injured or killed. NOTE: Your warranty does not cover parts or components that fail because of overloading.

B070A01P-GAT MAINTENANCE It is necessary to maintain your vehicle in top operating condition in order to enjoy safe and pleasant driving.Some maintenance items can be done by the owner (Consumer information), while others should be done only by anauthorized dealer (periodic inspection and maintenance). For the maintenance items to be doneby the owner, prepare the appropriate materials and tools and follow the pro- cedures given in the "Consumer infor- mation" section of this manual. However, the periodic inspection andmaintenance should not be attempted by the owner, but should be done by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.Correct performance of the periodic inspection and maintenance items re- quires specialized knowledge andequipment. Having these items performed by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer with thelatest technology and equipment will ensure that your vehicle is maintained for optimum performance, economy,and safety. In addition, having all periodic inspec-tion and maintenance done by an au-thorized HYUNDAI dealer is a prereq- uisite for validity of the warranty on your vehicle in the event of a claim.Refer to the separate "Service Book- let" for the periodic inspection and maintenance items and intervals. The airbag modules are located both in the center of the steering wheel and inthe front passenger's panel above the glove box. When the SRSCM detects a considerable impact to the front of thevehicle, it will automatically deploy the airbags. Upon deployment, tear seams molded directly into the pad covers will sepa- rate under pressure from the expan-sion of the airbags. Further opening of the covers then allows full inflation of the airbags. A fully inflated airbag in combination with a properly worn seat belt slowsthe driver's or the passenger's forward motion, thus reducing the risk of head or chest injury. After complete inflation, the airbag immediately starts deflating, enablingthe driver to maintain forward visibility.
The SRS service reminder indicator (SRI) on the instrument panel will blink for about 6 seconds after the ignitionkey is turned to the "ON" position or after the engine is started, after which the SRI should go out.B240B02L

B240B02P-AAT SRS Components and Functions The SRS consists of the following com- ponents:
- Driver's Side Airbag Module
- Passenger's Side Airbag Module
- SRS Service Reminder Indicator(SRI)
- SRS Control Module (SRSCM)
The SRSCM continually monitors allelements while the ignition is "ON" todetermine if a frontal or near-frontal impact is severe enough to require airbag deployment. B240B01L

o For cleaning the airbag pad cov-
ers, use only a soft, dry cloth or one which has been moistened with plain water. Solvents orcleaners could adversely affect the airbag covers and proper deployment of the system.
o No objects should be placed over or near the airbag modules onthe steering wheel, instrumentpanel, and the front passenger's panel above the glove box, be- cause any such object couldcause harm if the vehicle is in a crash severe enough to cause the airbags to inflate.
o If the airbags inflate, they must be replaced by an authorizedHyundai dealer.
o Do not tamper with or discon- nect SRS wiring, or other com-ponents of the SRS system. Do-ing so could result in injury, due to accidental inflation of the airbags or by rendering the SRSinoperative.
!WARNING:
o Extreme Hazard! Do not use a rearward facing child restraint on a seat protected by an airbag in front of it!
o Modification to SRS components
or wiring, including the additionof any kind of badges to the pad covers or modifications to thebody structure, can adversely affect SRS performance and lead to possible injury. B240C01HP
B240C01HP-GAT SRS Care The SRS is virtually maintenance-free and so there are no parts you cansafely service by yourself. The entire SRS system must be inspected by an authorized Hyundai dealer 10 yearsafter the date that the vehicle was manufactured. Any work on the SRS system, such as removing, installing, repairing, or any work on the steering wheel must beperformed by a qualified Hyundai tech- nician. Improper handling of the SRS system may result in serious personalinjury.
