60POWER OUTLETCIGAR LIGHTER
SB290A02-F For the cigar lighter to work, the key must be in the "ACC" or the "ON"position. To use the cigar lighter, push the lighter all the way into its socket. When the element is heated, the lighterwill pop out into the "ready" position. Do not hold the cigar lighter at the depressed position which may result indamage to the vehicle wiring or an electrical fire. If it is necessary to re- place the cigarette lighter, use only agenuine Hyundai replacement part.

! CAUTION:
Do not use electric accessories or equipment other than the Hyundai genuine parts in the socket. B500D01FC-EAT (Not all models)
These supply 12V electric power to operate electric accessories or equip- ment only when the key is in the "ON"position.
! CAUTION:
o Use the power outlet only when the engine is running and remove the plug from the power outletafter using the electric device. Using when the engine stops or keeping the electric device withplugged in for many hours may cause the battery to discharge.
o Do not use the power outlet to connect electric accessories orequipment that are not designed to operate on 12 volts.
o Some electronic devices can cause electronic interference whenplugged into the power outlet. These devices may cause exces- sive audio noise and malfunctions in other electronic systems or de-vices in your vehicle.

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY
5
!
!
!WARNING:
Whilst the engine is running, keep hands and clothing away from mov- ing parts such as the fan and drive belts to prevent injury. 5. If the water pump drive belt is broken
or coolant is leaking out, stop theengine immediately and call the near- est Hyundai authorised repairer for assistance.
WARNING (Diesel only):
Never work on injection system with engine running or within 30 seconds after shutting off engine. High pres-sure pump, rail, injectors and high pressure pipes are subject to high pressure even after the enginestopped. The fuel jet produced by fuel leaks may cause serious injury, if it touches the body. People usingpacemakers should not move closer than 30cm etc. to the ECU or wiring harness within the engine roomwhilst engine is running, since the high currents in the Common Rail system produce considerable mag-netic fields.
!
WARNING:
Do not remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot since steam and boiling water may be ejected fromthe radiator resulting in burns or scalding.
6. If the cause of the overheating can- not be found, wait until the engine temperature has returned to normal. Then, if coolant has been lost, care-fully remove the radiator cap and add water to bring the fluid level in the reservoir up to the base of the radia-tor fill opening. Fill the coolant ex- pansion tank to the halfway mark. To ensure the correct water to cool-ant mix is obtained after top up, testing by an authorised repairer is required. 7. Proceed with caution until it is estab-
lished that the engine is operatingnormally. If the engine overheats repeatedly, the advice of a Hyundai authorised repairer should be sought.
CAUTION:
Serious loss of coolant indicatesthere is a leak in the cooling systemand this should be checked as soon as possible by a Hyundai authorised repairer.

VEHICLE MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS
7EXPLANATION OF SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE ITEMS
!
6ZF060M1-A
o Engine Oil and Filter
The engine oil and filter should be changed at the intervals specified in the maintenance schedule. If the car is being driven in severe conditions, more frequent oil and filter changes are required. 6ZF060B1-A
o Drive Belts
Inspect all drive belts for evidence of cuts, cracks, excessive wear or oil contamination and replace if neces- sary. Drive belts should be checkedperiodically for proper tension and ad- justed as necessary. 6ZF060C1-A
o Fuel Filter A clogged filter can limit the speed at which the vehicle may be driven, dam- age the emission system and cause hard starting. If an excessive amountof foreign matter accumulates in the fuel tank, the filter may require re- placement more frequently. After installing a new filter, run theengine for several minutes, and checkfor leaks at the connections.
WARNING (Diesel only):
Never work on injection system with engine running or within 30 sec- onds after shutting off engine. Highpressure pump, rail, injectors and high pressure pipes are subject to high pressure even after the enginestopped. The fuel jet produced by fuel leaks may cause serious injury, if it contacts the body. People usingpacemakers should ensure that they keep a distance of 30cm from the ECU or wiring harness within theengine room whilst engine is run- ning, since the high currents in the Common Rail system produce con-siderable magnetic fields.
6ZF060D2-A
o Fuel lines, Fuel Hoses and
Connections
Check the fuel lines, fuel hoses and connections for leakage and damage. Replace any damaged or leaking parts immediately.

3. Confirm that the fluid level is in
“HOT” range on the level gauge. If the fluid level is lower, add the specified fluid from the fill hole. If the fluid level is higher, drain thefluid from the drain hole.
4. If the fluid level is checked in cold condition (fluid temperature 20~30°C (68~86°F)) add the fluid to “COLD” line and then recheck the fluid levelaccording to the above step 2. WARNING:
The cooling fan is controlled by engine coolant temperature and may sometimes operate even when theengine is not running. Use extreme caution when working near the blades of the cooling fan so thatyou are not injured by a rotating fan blade. As the engine coolant tem- perature decreases, the fan will au-tomatically shut off. This is a nor- mal condition.

Fluid level should be within this range

CHECKING AND REPLACING FUSES
SG200A1-E
Fusible Links
The fusible link prevents damage to
the wiring harness in the event of an electrical system malfunction. Failure of a fusiblelink is indicative of a seri- ous overload condition having occurredand therefore the electrical system should be checked by a Hyundai authorised repairer before a replace-ment link is fitted. WARNING:
Under no circumstances should a fusible link be replaced with any- thing other than a new link of thesame rating. The use of higher rated links or other means of connecting the circuit will create a potential firehazard.

At the scheduled maintenance inspec-
tion, belts should be examined for cracks, wear, fraying or other evi- dence of deterioration and replaced if necessary.
Belt routing should also be checked to
be sure there is no interference be-tween the belts and other parts of theengine.
