Odometer
The odometer indicates the total dis-
tance the vehicle has been driven.
You will also find the odometer useful to
determine when periodic maintenance
should be performed.

NOTICE
It is forbidden to alter of the odometer
of any vehicle with the intent to change
the mileage registered on the odometer.
The alteration may void your warranty
coverage.
Tripmeter
The tripmeter indicates the distance of
individual trip selected by the driver.
Tripmeter can be reset to 0 by pressing
the RESET button for 1 second or more. ECO ON/OFF mode (if equipped)
You can turn the ECO indicator on/off on
the instrument cluster in this mode.
If you push the RESET button more than
1 second in the ECO ON mode, ECO
OFF is displayed in the screen and the
ECO indicator turns off while driving.
If you want to display the ECO indicator
again, press the RESET button more
than 1 second in the ECO OFF mode
and then ECO ON mode is displayed in
the screen.
When you press the TRIP button less
than 1 second in the ECO mode, the
mode is changed to tripmeter.

BRAKE FLUID

Checking the brake fluid level
Check the fluid level in the reservoir peri-
odically. The fluid level should be
between MAX and MIN marks on the
side of the reservoir. Before removing the reservoir cap and
adding brake fluid, clean the area around
the reservoir cap thoroughly to prevent
brake fluid contamination.
If the level is low, add fluid to the MAX
level. The level will fall with accumulated
mileage. This is a normal condition asso-
ciated with the wear of the brake linings.
If the fluid level is excessively low, have
the brake system checked by an author-
ized HYUNDAI dealer.
Use only the specified brake fluid. (Refer
to “Recommended lubricants and capac-ities” in section 8.)
Never mix different types of fluid.
WARNING - Brake fluid
When changing and adding brake
fluid, handle it carefully. Do not let it
come in contact with your eyes. If
brake fluid should come in contact
with your eyes, immediately flush
them with a large quantity of fresh
tap water. Have your eyes examined
by a doctor as soon as possible.
WARNING - Loss of brake
fluid
In the event the brake system
requires frequent additions of fluid,
the vehicle should be inspected by
an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
CAUTION
Do not allow brake fluid to contactthe vehicle's body paint, as paint damage will result. Brake fluid,which has been exposed to open air for an extended time should neverbe used as its quality cannot beguaranteed. It should be disposed of properly. Don't put in the wrongkind of fluid. A few drops of miner-al-based oil, such as engine oil, in your brake system can damagebrake system parts.
