WINDSHIELD WIPER AND WASHER SWITCH
B350B01O-GAT Windshield Washer Operation To use the windshield washer, pull the wiper/washer lever toward the steer- ing wheel. When the washer lever isoperated, the wipers automatically make two passes across the wind- shield. The washer continues to oper-ate until the lever is released. NOTE:
o Do not operate the washer more
than 15 seconds at a time or when the fluid reservoir is empty.
o In icy or freezing weather, be
sure the wiper blades are notfrozen to the glass prior to oper- ating the wipers.
B350A01A-AAT The windshield wiper switch has three positions:
1. Intermittent wiper operation
2. Low-speed operation
3. High-speed operation NOTE: To prevent damage to the wiper system, do not attempt to wipe awayheavy accumulations of snow or ice. Accumulated snow and ice should be removed manually. Ifthere is only a light layer of snow or ice, operate the heater in the de- frost mode to melt the snow or icebefore using the wiper.

B350C01O-AAT Adjustable Intermittent Wiper Operation To use the intermittent wiper feature, place the wiper switch in the "INT" position. With the switch in this posi- tion, the interval between wipes can bevaried from approximately 1 to 18 sec- onds by turning the interval adjuster barrel. This is also varied automati-cally depending on your road speed. B390A01E-AAT Rear Window Wiper and Washer Switch
1. : The rear window wiper starts
to operate three times after the washer fluid sprays onto the rear window.
2.OFF 3.INT: The interval between wipes op- erates every 5 seconds inter- mittently.
4.ON : The rear window wiper starts
to operate continuously.
5. : The washer fluid will be sprayed
onto the rear window and the wiper operates while the rear window wiper barrel is placedin this position.
HHP2102
HHP2108
NOTE: Do not operate the washer continu- ously for more than 15 seconds or when the fluid reservoir is empty;this could damage the system. Do not operate the wiper when the win- dow is dry; this can result in scratch-ing as well as premature wiper blade wear. For the same reason, do not oper-ate the washer when the washer fluid reservoir is empty.

NOTE: In winter conditions where screen washer icing occurs, a winter screen wash additive containing an anti-freeze component may be used. Only fluids specifically intended for this purpose should be used. En-sure that undiluted additive is not spilt upon the vehicle paintwork and that engine coolant anti-freezeis not used for this purpose or dam- age to the paintwork may occur.

The hazard warning system should be used whenever it becomes necessary to stop the car in a hazardous location. The hazard warning system is oper-ated by depressing the switch at which time all turn signal lights will flash simultaneously and the turn signalwarning lights located within the instru- ment cluster will flash simultaneously. The hazard warning system may beturned off by depressing the switch again.HAZARD WARNING SYSTEM

Do not operate the wiper when the win- dow is dry; this can result in scratch-ing as well as premature wiper blade wear. For the reason stated above,do notoperate the washer when the washer fluid reservoir is empty.
To operate the heated front/rear window depress the switch shown. The heated front/rear window will automatically turn off after 20 minutes or when the ignitionis turned off. The system may be turned off manu- ally by depressing the switch again.

YC170C1-E Anti-freeze/Corrosion inhibitor The cooling system must always con- tain an Ethylene-Glycol based anti-freeze solution. The system is filled during manufacture with solution of the correct strength which should bechecked before the onset of winter and adjusted or changed as required. NOTE: The anti-freeze solution contains a corrosion inhibitor to prevent deg- radation of the aluminium castingscontained within the engine. There- fore, never, drain the system and refill with water only. In addition, anti-freeze solution must ALWAYS be used in vehicles fittedwith air conditioning, to prevent the heater matrix from freezing and sub- sequently bursting with the refrigera-tion system in use. ZC170D1-E Door Locks Should the door lock mechanism be- come frozen, a proprietary lock de-icershould be used. Alternatively, warm- ing the door key may thaw the door lock. However, the key should behandled carefully to avoid burning the fingers. Never attempt to thaw a frozen doorlock using hot water, since the water will eventually freeze and compound the problem. NOTE: The proper temperature for using the immobilizer key is from -40°F to176°F (-40°C to 80°C). If you heat the immobilizer key over 176°F (80°C) to open the frozen lock, it may causedamage to the transponder in its head.
ZC170E1-E Windscreen Washers & Wipers The windscreen washer bottle should be filled with a solution of water and a proprietary winter screen wash addi- tive. The windscreen wipers shouldnot be used if the blades are frozen to the windscreen or if they are covered with snow, before this is removed. NOTE: Never allow undiluted screen washer fluid additive to spill uponthe paintwork or use engine cool- ant anti-freeze since damage to the paintwork may result.
o When driving in extreme condi-
tions, the windscreen wiper blades may fail to clear the screen properly due to the formation of ice upon the blade edge. It willtherefore be necessary to peri- odically remove such ice to re- store their efficiency.
o If the power operated door mir- rors become frozen, attempts toadjust these may damage themechanism.

Recommended Oil
1. Petrol Engine
(1) Select engine oil of the proper SAE
viscosity number according to the atmospheric temperature.Recommended viscosity is givenin the following illustration.
(2) A multi grade oil having a specifi- cation which meets A.P.I. specifi-cation of SG, SH or ABOVE isrecommended.DAILY OPERATING CHECKS
SG020B1-E The following items should be checked on a daily basis or whenever the vehicle is refuelled, whichever occurssooner.
o Engine oil level.
o Coolant level.
o Power steering fluid level.
o Brake fluid level.
o Windscreen washer fluid level.
o Battery condition.
o Tyre condition and pressures.
o Operation and cleanliness of all lighting equipment.
o Windscreen wiper and washer op-
eration.
o Horn operation.
o Warning light operation.
o Adjustment and cleanliness of mir- rors.
o Seat and seat belt adjustment and operation.
o Fluid leakage. The vehicle must not be driven if the daily operating checks indicate that any item of equipment related to the safety or roadworthiness of the ve-hicle is not functioning correctly.ENGINE OIL
G030A01FC-EAT The correct engine oil level is of para-
mount importance. An excessively high or low oil level may result inirreparable damage being sustained by the engine. The engine oil level must be checked on a daily basis, whenever the vehicle is refuelled or before starting a long trip, whichever occurs sooner.
In addition, it is imperative that only
an approved grade and specificationof oil is used to avoid the possibility ofserious engine damage and prema- ture wear. The use of "budget price" oil is a false economy that must beavoided if the maximum reliability and useful life is to be obtained from the vehicle.

The level of windscreen washer fluid available should be checked on a daily basis. The level of fluid will be visiblethrough the side of the reservoir. When the fluid is to be replenished, only a proprietary screen wash additive shouldbe used and in the concentration rec- ommended by the manufacturer. The windscreen washer reservoir has atotal capacity of 4.5 litres.
