This warning appears when the Intelligent Key is
left outside the vehicle with the ignition switch in
the ON or ACC position. Make sure the Intelli-
gent Key is inside the vehicle.
Key ID Incorrect
The warning appears when the ignition switch is
turned from the OFF position and the Intelligent
Key is not recognized by the system. You cannot
start the engine with an unregistered key.
For additional information, refer to “INFINITI Intel-
ligent Key System” in “Pre-driving checks and
adjustments.”
Shift to Park
This will be displayed in the following conditions:
● When the shift lever is in any position expect
P (Park) and the push button ignition switch
has been placed in the “OFF” position from
the “ON” position.
● When the shift lever is operated while the
READY to driver indicator light is flashing.
● The driver’s door is opened with the shift
lever in N, D or R.
● When the vehicle cannot be driven because
the hybrid system temperature has become
too high. ●
The Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery drops be-
cause the shift lever is in the N position.
● When the engine stops due to sudden de-
celeration on a cold winter day.
● If a malfunction occurs in a situation other
than those described above and the engine
cannot start automatically.
When this warning appears, place the shift
lever in the P (Park) position.
When the shift “P” warning appears, a
buzzer will sound.
This will turn off in the following conditions:
● When the shift selector has been placed in
the P (Park) position.
● When the push button ignition switch has
been pushed to “ON”.
Push ignition to OFF
After the Push ignition to OFF warning illumi-
nates, the warning will illuminate if the ignition
switch is placed in the ACC position when the
shift lever is moved to the P (Park) position.
To turn off the Push warning, place the ignition
switch in the ON position and then in the LOCK
position.

ways secure your vehicle even if parking for a
brief period. Never leave your Intelligent Key in
the vehicle, and always lock the vehicle when
unattended. Be aware of your surroundings, and
park in secure, well-lit areas whenever possible.
Many devices offering additional protection, such
as component locks, identification markers, and
tracking systems, are available at auto supply
stores and specialty shops. Your INFINITI retailer
may also offer such equipment. Check with your
insurance company to see if you may be eligible
for discounts for various theft protection features.
How to arm the vehicle security
system
1. Close all windows and the moonroof.The
system can be armed even if the win-
dows and moonroof are open.
2. Remove the Intelligent Key from the vehicle.
3. Close all doors, hood and liftgate. Lock all doors. The doors can be locked with the
Intelligent Key, door handle request switch
or power door lock switch.
Key fob operation:
4. Confirm that the
indicator light comes
on. The
indicator stays illuminated for
a period of time indicating that the system is
in the pre-armed phase. The
indicator light will blink every
3 seconds once the security system is
armed.
If during the pre-armed phase one of the
following occurs, the system will not arm:
● Any door is unlocked with the mechanical
key
● A door is opened with the release button
with the Intelligent Key on your person
● The doors are unlocked using the unlock
button on the Intelligent Key
● The ignition switch is placed in the ACC
or ON position
● Even when the driver and/or passen-
gers are in the vehicle, the system will
activate when all the doors, hood and
liftgate are locked with the ignition
switch placed in the LOCK position.
When placing the ignition switch in the
ACC or ON position, the system will be
released.
Vehicle security system activation
The vehicle security system will give the following
alarm:
● The turn signals blink and the horn sounds
intermittently. ●
The alarm automatically turns off after a pe-
riod of time. However, the alarm reactivates if
the vehicle is tampered with again. The alarm
can be shut off by unlocking the driver’s door
or liftgate with the key, or by pressing
the
button on the Intelligent Key.
The alarm is activated by: ● opening the door or liftgate without using the
key or Intelligent Key (even if the door is
unlocked by releasing the door inside lock
switch) .
How to stop an activated alarm
The alarm stops only by unlocking the driver’s
door or the liftgate with the key, pressing
the
button on the Intelligent Key, or press-
ing the request switch on the driver’s or passen-
ger’s door with the Intelligent Key in range of the
door handle.
INFINITI VEHICLE IMMOBILIZER
SYSTEM
The INFINITI Vehicle Immobilizer System will not
allow the engine to start without the use of a
registered INFINITI Vehicle Immobilizer System
key.

●The engine will continue to run for 10 min-
utes. Repeat the steps to extend the time for
an additional ten minutes. For additional in-
formation, refer to “Extending engine run
time” in this section.
Depress and hold the brake then press the push-
button ignition switch to the ON position before
driving. For additional information, refer to “Driv-
ing the vehicle” in the “Starting and driving” sec-
tion of this manual.
EXTENDING ENGINE RUN TIME
The remote start feature can be extended one
time by performing the steps listed in “Remote
starting the vehicle” in this section. Run time will
be calculated as follows: ● The first 10 minute run time will start when
the remote start function is performed.
● The second 10 minutes will start immedi-
ately when the remote start function is per-
formed again. For example, if the engine has
been running for 5 minutes, and 10 minutes
are added, the engine will run for a total of
15 minutes.
● Extending engine run time will bring you to
the 2 remote start limit. A maximum of 2 remote starts, or a single start
with an extension, are allowed between ignition
cycles.
The ignition switch must be cycled to the ON
position and then back to the OFF position be-
fore the remote start procedure can be used
again.
CANCELING A REMOTE START
To cancel a remote start, perform one of the
following:
● Aim the Intelligent Key at the vehicle and
press
until the parking lights turn off.
● Turn on the hazard warning flashers.
● Cycle the ignition switch ON and then OFF.
● The extended engine run time has expired.
● The first 10 minute timer has expired.
● The engine hood has been opened.
● The shift lever is moved out of park.
● The alarm sounds due to illegal entry into the
vehicle.
● The ignition switch is pushed without an
Intelligent Key in the vehicle. ●
The ignition switch is pushed with an Intelli-
gent Key in the vehicle but the brake pedal is
not depressed.
CONDITIONS THE REMOTE START
WILL NOT WORK
The remote start will not operate if any of the
following conditions are present:
● The ignition switch is placed in the ON po-
sition.
● The hood is not securely closed.
● The hazard warning lights are on.
● The engine is still running. The engine must
be completely stopped. Wait at least 6 sec-
onds if the engine goes from running to off.
This is not applicable when extending en-
gine run time.
● The remote start button
is not pressed
and held for at least 2 seconds.
● The remote start button
is not pressed
and held within 5 seconds of pressing the
lock button.
● The brake is pressed.
● The doors are not closed and locked.
● The trunk or back door is open.

The driver’s seat and steering wheel will return to
the previous position:● When the driver’s door is closed with the
ignition switch placed in the LOCK position.
● When the ignition switch is turned from
ACC to ON while the shift lever is in the P
(Park) position.
The entry/exit function can be adjusted or can-
celed through the Vehicle Settings in the vehicle
information display by performing the following: ● Switch the Exit Seat Slide from ON to OFF.
● Switch the Exit Steering UP from ON to
OFF.
Restarting the entry/exit function
If the battery cable is disconnected or if the fuse
opens, the entry/exit function will be disabled.
Drive the vehicle over 25 MPH (40 km/h) to
restart the entry/exit function. You can also restart
the entry/exit function using the following proce-
dure.
1. Connect the battery cable or replace the fuse.
2. Open and close the driver’s door more than two times with the ignition switch in the
LOCK position.
The entry/exit function should now work properly.
SETTING MEMORY FUNCTION
The position of the following settings can be
linked to the Intelligent Key and the memorized
settings can be available for each Intelligent Key.
● Climate control system
● Navigation system (if so equipped)
● Audio system
To use the memory function, set the climate,
navigation and audio systems to the driver’s pre-
ferred settings. Lock the doors with the Intelligent
Key. Each Intelligent Key may be set with the
driver’s individual preferences. When a new In-
telligent Key is used, “Connection with the key
has been done” will be displayed on the screen
and the memorized settings are available.
To engage the memorized settings, perform the
following: 1. Carry the Intelligent Key that is linked to the memorized settings.
2. Unlock the doors by pushing the driver’s door handle request switch or the
UNLOCK
button on the Intelligent
Key.
3. Place the ignition switch in the “ON” posi- tion. The settings linked to the Intelligent Key
will start. For additional information on using the Climate
control system refer to “Heater and air condi-
tioner (automatic)” in the “Monitor, climate, audio,
phone and voice recognition systems” section of
this manual.
For additional information on using the Naviga-
tion System, refer to the separate Navigation
System Owner’s Manual.
For additional information on using the Audio
system, refer to “Audio system” in the “Monitor,
climate, audio, phone and voice recognition sys-
tems” section of this manual.
SYSTEM OPERATION
The automatic drive positioner system will not
work or will stop operating under the following
conditions:
● When the vehicle speed is above 4 MPH
(7 km/h).
● When any of the memory switches are
pushed while the automatic drive positioner
is operating.
● When the adjusting switch for the driver’s
seat and steering column is turned on while
the automatic drive positioner is operating.
● When the seat has already been moved to
the memorized position.

The operation screen will be turned on when the
DISC-AUX button is pressed while a DVD is
playing. The operation screen will turn off auto-
matically after a period of time. To turn it on again,
press the DISC-AUX button.
DVD operation keys
When the DVD is playing without the operation
screen being shown, you may use the touch-
screen to select items from the displayed video.
You may also use the INFINITI controller to select
an item from the displayed video. When the op-
eration screen is being shown, use the INFINITI
controller or the touch-screen to select an item
from the displayed menus.
PAUSE
Select the
key to pause the DVD. To re-
sume playing the DVD, use the
key.
PLAY
Select the
key to start playing the DVD or
resume playing the DVD after it has been paused.
STOP
Select the
key to stop playing the DVD.
NEXT/PREVIOUS
CHAPTER
Select the
key to skip the chapter(s) of the
disc forward. Select the
key to skip the
chapter(s) of the disc backward. The chapters
will advance forward or backward the number of
times the respective key is touched or selected
with the INFINITI controller.
CM SKIP
This function is only for DVD-VIDEO and DVD-
VR. Select the
orkey to fast forward
or rewind a set interval of time based on the CM
settings. For additional information, refer to “DVD
settings” in this section.
Top Menu
When the “Top Menu” key is selected while the
DVD is playing, the top menu specific to each
disc will be displayed. For additional information,
refer to the instructions attached to the disc.
DVD settings
Select the “Settings” key to adjust the following
settings:
● Key (DVD-VIDEO)
Displays the operation keys for the specific
DVD menu. – Select the directional keys to move the
cursor on the DVD menu.
– Select the “Enter” key to fix the selected menu item.
– Select the “Move” key to move the loca- tion of the operation keys on the screen.
– Select the “Back” key to return to the previous menu screen.
– Select the “Hide” key to hide the opera- tion keys.
● Title Menu (DVD-VIDEO)
Some menus specific to each disc will be
shown. For additional information, refer to
the instructions attached to the disc.
● Title Search (DVD-VIDEO, DVD-VR)
The scene with the specified title will be
displayed the number of times the “+” or “-”
side is selected.
● Group Search (VIDEO CD)
The scene with the specified group will be
displayed the number of times the “+” or “-”
side is selected.

Movie file operation
Park the vehicle in a safe location for the
front seat occupants to operate the USB
memory while watching the images.
DISC-AUX button
When the DISC-AUX button is pushed with the
system off and the USB memory inserted, the
system will turn on. If another audio source is
playing and the USB memory is inserted, press
the DISC-AUX button repeatedly until the center
display changes to the USB memory mode.Operation keys
To operate the USB memory, select the desired
key displayed on the display screen.

Pause
Select the
key to pause the movie file.
To resume playing the movie file, use
the
key.
●
Play
Select the
key to start playing the
movie file or resume the movie file if it has
been paused.

Stop
Select the
key to stop playing the
movie file.

Next Chapter/Fast Forward
Select the

of the disc forward. The chapters will ad-

lected. Press and hold the key to fast for-

of the disc backward. The chapters will go
back the number of times the key is selected.
Press and hold the key to rewind the chap-
ter.
List
Select the “List” key on the movie file operation
screen to display the file list.

●To avoid draining the vehicle battery, do
not operate the system for more than
15 minutes without starting the engine.
The front display is designed not to show
the images while driving, as the driver’s
attention must be given to vehicle opera-
tion for safety. Sounds are available. To
show the images in the front display, stop
the vehicle in a safe location, move the shift
lever to the P (Park) position and apply the
parking brake.
SYSTEM COMPONENTS
Rear displays
CAUTION
● The glass screen on the liquid crystal
display may break if hit with a hard or
sharp object. If the glass breaks, do not
touch the liquid crystalline material. In
case of contact with skin, wash immedi-
ately with soap and water.
● Use soft, damp cloth when cleaning the
Dual Head Restraint/Headrest DVD
System components. Do not use sol-
vents or cleaning solutions. The rear displays are located on the back of the
front head restraints/headrests.
Use the remote control to operate the rear display
screen.
Press the preferred side (L or R) of the power
ON/OFF button on the remote control to activate
the rear display.
The rear screens can also be activated using the
INFINITI controller. For additional information, re-
fer to “Rear display settings” in this section.
Do not block the range of the wireless remote
control receiver and wireless headphones trans-
mitter
1.The angle of the rear display screen can be
adjusted for optimal viewing.
Gently apply pressure to the base of the screen
where indicated until the screen reached the
desired position. When the screen is released, it
will remain in the current position. To return to the
screen to the flat position, press the base of the
screen in all the way until it clicks and retracts.

PAUSE
Select this key and press the ENTER button to
pause the DVD. To resume playing the DVD, use
the “PLAY” key.
To pause the DVD, it is also possible to push the
pause button on the keypad of the remote con-
trol.
PLAY
Select this key and press the ENTER button to
start playing the DVD, for example, after pausing
the DVD.
To start playing the DVD, it is also possible to
press the play button on the keypad of the remote
control.
STOP
Select this key and press the ENTER button to
stop playing the DVD.
To stop playing the DVD, it is also possible to
press the stop button on the keypad of the re-
mote control.
SKIP (FORWARD)
Select this key and press the ENTER button to
skip the chapter(s) of the disc forward. The chap-
ters will advance the number of times the ENTER
button is pressed.
To skip the chapter(s) forward, it is also possible
to press the corresponding button on the keypad
of the remote control.
SKIP (REWIND)
Select this key and press the ENTER button to
skip the chapter(s) of the disc backward. The
chapters will go back the number of times the
ENTER button is pressed.
To skip the chapter(s) backward, it is also pos-
sible to press the corresponding button on the
keypad of the remote control.
Commercial Skip
This function is only for DVD-VIDEO and DVD-
VR.
Select this key to skip forward or backwards by
the set amount as defined in the DVD settings
menu.
To skip forward or backward, it is also possible to
press the corresponding button on the keypad of
the remote control.

●Accelerating quickly, sharp steering
maneuvers or sudden braking may
cause loss of control.
● If at all possible, avoid sharp turning
maneuvers, particularly at high speeds.
Your INFINITI vehicle has a higher cen-
ter of gravity than a passenger car. The
vehicle is not designed for cornering at
the same speeds as passenger cars.
Failure to operate this vehicle correctly
could result in loss of control and/or a
rollover accident.
● Always use tires of the same type, size,
brand, construction (bias, bias-belted,
or radial) , and tread pattern on all four
wheels. Install tire chains on the front
wheels when driving on slippery roads
and drive carefully.
● Be sure to check the brakes immedi-
ately after driving in mud or water. For
additional information, refer to “Brake
system” in this section for “Wet
brakes”.
● Avoid parking your vehicle on steep
hills. If you get out of the vehicle and it
rolls forward, backward or sideways,
you could be injured. ●
Whenever you drive off-road through
sand, mud or water as deep as the
wheel hub, more frequent maintenance
may be required. For additional infor-
mation, refer to “Periodic maintenance”
in the “INFINITI Service and Mainte-
nance Guide.”WARNING
Do not operate the push-button ignition
switch while driving the vehicle except in
an emergency. The INFINITI Direct Re-
sponse Hybrid® System will stop when
the ignition switch is pushed 3 consecu-
tive times or the ignition switch is pushed
and held for more than 2 seconds. If the
hybrid system is turned off while the ve-
hicle is being driven, this could lead to a
crash and serious injury.

After starting the engine, fully depress the brake
pedal, push and press the shift lever button and
move the shift lever from the P (Park) position to
any of the desired shift positions.
WARNING
Apply the parking brake if the shift lever is
in any position while the engine is not
running. Failure to do so could cause the
vehicle to move unexpectedly or roll away
and result in serious personal injury or
property damage.
CAUTION
Use the P (Park) or R (Reverse) position
only when the vehicle is completely
stopped.
P (Park)
CAUTION
To prevent transmission damage, use the
P (Park) position only when the vehicle is
completely stopped
Use the P (Park) shift lever position when the
vehicle is parked or when starting the engine.
Make sure the vehicle is completely stopped.
The brake pedal must be depressed and
the shift lever button pushed in to move the
shift lever from N (Neutral) or any drive
position to P (Park) . Apply the parking brake.
When parking on a hill, apply the parking brake
first, then move the shift lever into the P (Park)
position. R (Reverse)
CAUTION
To prevent transmission damage, use the
R (Reverse) position only when the vehicle
is completely stopped.
Use the R (Reverse) position to back up. Make
sure the vehicle is completely stopped before
selecting the R (Reverse) position. The brake
pedal must be depressed and the shift lever
button pushed in to move the shift lever
from P (Park) , N (Neutral) or any drive po-
sition to R (Reverse) .
N (Neutral)
Neither forward nor reverse gear is engaged. The
engine can be started in this position. You may
shift to N (Neutral) and restart a stalled engine
while the vehicle is moving.
D (Drive)
Use this position for all normal forward driving.
Manual shift mode
When the shift lever is in the manual shift gate,
the transmission is ready for the manual shift
mode. Shift ranges can be selected manually by
moving the shift lever up or down. To cancel
