time the ignition switch is placed in the ON
position as long as the low tire pressure warning
light remains illuminated. If this warning appears,
stop the vehicle and adjust the tire pressures of
all four tires to the recommended COLD tire
pressure shown on the Tire and Loading Informa-
tion label. For additional information, refer to
“Low tire pressure warning light” in this section
and “Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)”
in the “Starting and driving” section of this
manual.
TPMS Error: See Owner’s Manual
This warning appears when there is an error with
your TPMS. If this warning comes on, it is recom-
mended that you visit an INFINITI retailer.
Parking Sensor Error: See Owner’s
Manual (if so equipped)
This warning illuminates when there is an error
with the system. For additional information, refer
to “Front and rear sonar system” in the “Starting
and driving” section of this manual.
Loose Fuel Cap
This warning appears when the fuel-filler cap is
not tightened correctly after the vehicle has been
refueled. For additional information, refer to
“Fuel-filler cap” in the “Pre-driving checks and
adjustments” section of this manual.Push brake and start button to drive
This indicator appears when the shift lever is in
the P (Park) position.
This indicator also appears when the vehicle has
been started with the remote start function (if so
equipped) .
This indicator means that the engine will start by
pushing the ignition switch with the brake pedal
depressed. You can start the engine from any
position of the ignition switch.
High Coolant Temp: See Owner’s Manual
This warning appears when the temperature of
the engine coolant is too high. Stop the vehicle in
a safe location as soon as possible. Avoid quick
starting or abrupt acceleration. When the warn-
ing turns off, the vehicle can be driven.
If the warning appears again soon after it turns
off, it is recommended that you visit an INFINITI
retailer.
Hybrid System Overheated
This warning appears when the temperature of
the hybrid system is too high. Stop the vehicle in
a safe location as soon as possible. Avoid quick
starting or abrupt acceleration. When the warn-
ing turns off, the vehicle can be driven.
If the warning appears again soon after it turns
off, have the system checked. It is recommended
that you visit an INFINITI retailer for this service.
Do not drive the vehicle with the warning
on. Doing so could cause a Hybrid System
malfunction.
WARNING
If you continue to drive the vehicle while
the warning is displayed, the hybrid sys-
tem may become temporarily inoperative
and the system cannot provide power to
the wheels. This can result in reduced or
zero vehicle speed. The reduced speed or
zero speed may be lower than other traf-
fic, which could increase the chance of a
collision. If the vehicle cannot maintain a
safe driving speed, pull to the side of the
road in a safe area. If this occurs, place the
shift lever in the P (Park) position and the
ignition in the READY to drive position
with the vehicle stopped until the display
turns off. The Hybrid System Overheated
warning and the SHIFT “P” warning mes-
sages will be alternately displayed. For
additional information, refer to the “Shift
to Park” warning in this section.

I-Key System Error: See Owner’s Manual
After the ignition switch is pushed to the ON
position, this light comes on for about 2 seconds
and then turns off.
The I-Key System Error message warns of a
malfunction with the Intelligent Key system. If the
light comes on while the engine is stopped, it may
be impossible to start the engine.
If the light comes on while the engine is running,
you can drive the vehicle. However in these
cases, it is recommended you contact an
INFINITI retailer for repair as soon as possible.
Cruise control indicator (if so equipped)
This indicator shows the cruise control system
status.
For additional information, refer to “Cruise con-
trol” in the “Starting and driving” section of this
manual.
Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) indicators
(if so equipped)
These indicators show the Intelligent Cruise
Control (ICC) system status. The status is shown
by the color. For additional information, refer to
“Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) System” in the
“Starting and driving” section of this manual.INFINITI drive mode selector indicators
These indicators show the current drive mode of
the vehicle.
For additional information, refer to “INFINITI drive
mode selector” in the “Starting and driving” sec-
tion of this manual.
Malfunction: See Owner’s Manual (if so
equipped)
This warning appears when one or more of the
following systems (if so equipped) is not func-
tioning properly:
● Forward Emergency Braking (FEB)
● Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
● Blind Spot Warning (BSW)
If one or more of these warning appears, have the
system checked. It is recommended you visit an
INFINITI retailer for this service.
AWD Error: See Owner’s Manual (if so
equipped)
This warning appears when the all-wheel drive
system is not functioning properly while the en-
gine is running. AWD High Temp. Stop Vehicle (if so
equipped)
This warning may appear while trying to free a
stuck vehicle due to increased oil temperature.
The driving mode may change to 2-Wheel Drive
(2WD) . If this warning is displayed, stop the
vehicle with the engine idling, as soon as it is safe
to do so. Then if the warning turns off, you can
continue driving.
Tire Size Incorrect: See Owner’s Manual
(if so equipped)
This warning may appear if there is a large differ-
ence between the diameters of the front and rear
wheels. Pull off the road in a safe area, with the
engine idling. Check that all the tire sizes are the
same, that the tire pressure is correct and that the
tires are not excessively worn.
Unavailable: Road is slippery (if so
equipped)
This message appears when the Distance Con-
trol Assist (DCA) system becomes unavailable
because the road is slippery. For additional infor-
mation, refer to “Distance Control Assist (DCA)”
in the “Starting and driving” section of this
manual.

monitor elevated seat temperatures or
have an inability to feel pain in body parts
that contact the seat. Use of the seat
heater by such people could result in seri-
ous injury.

heater is operated while the engine is
not running. ●
Do not use the seat heater for extended
periods or when no one is using the
seat.
● Do not put anything on the seat which
insulates heat, such as a blanket, cush-

object. This may result in damage to the

automatically turning the heater on and off.
The indicator light will remain on as long as
the switch is on.
3. When the seat is warmed or before you leave the vehicle, be sure to turn the switch
off.

climate controlled seat does not oper-
ate, turn the switch off and have the
system checked. It is recommended you
visit an INFINITI retailer for this service. The climate controlled seat warms up or cools
down the front seat by blowing warm or cool air
from under the surface of the seat. The climate
control switch is located on the center console.
The climate controlled seat can be operated as
follows:
1. Start the hybrid system.
2. Turn the control knob

or the cool side2. The indicator lightBon
the control knob will illuminate.
3. Adjust the desired amount of air using the control knob. The climate controlled seat
blower remains on low speed for approxi-
mately 60 seconds after turning the switch
on or selecting the desired temperature.
4. When the vehicle’s interior is warmed or cooled, or before you leave the vehicle, be
sure to turn the control knob to the Off
(center) position. The indicator light

the control knob goes off with the switch in
the off (center) position.

the meter illuminates in yellow. It warns of a malfunction with the Intelligent
Key system.It is recommended that you visit an INFINITI

Thebutton will be on the INFINITI Intelli-
gent Key if the vehicle has remote engine start.
This feature allows the engine to start from out-
side the vehicle.
The following features may be affected when the
remote start feature is used:
● Vehicles with an automatic climate control
system will default to either a heating or
cooling mode depending on the outside
temperature.
● Vehicles without automatic climate control
will default to the last used heating or cool-
ing mode. ●
Vehicles equipped with heated seats may
have this feature come on during a remote
start. For additional information, refer to
“Heated front seats” in the “Instruments and
controls” section of this manual.
Laws in some local communities may restrict the
use of remote starters. For example, some laws
require a person using remote start to have the
vehicle in view. Check local regulations for any
requirements.
Other conditions may affect the function of the
Remote Engine Start feature. For additional infor-
mation, refer to “Conditions the remote start will
not work” in this section.
Other conditions can affect the performance of
the Intelligent Key transmitter. For additional in-
formation, refer to “INFINITI Intelligent Key Sys-
tem” in this section.
REMOTE ENGINE START
OPERATING RANGE
The remote engine start function can only be
used when the Intelligent Key is within the speci-
fied operating range from the vehicle.
When the Intelligent Key battery is discharged or
other strong radio waves sources are present
near the operating location, the Intelligent Key operating range becomes narrower, and the In-
telligent Key may not function properly.
The remote engine start operating range is ap-
proximately 197 ft (60 m) from the vehicle.
REMOTE STARTING THE VEHICLE
To use the remote start feature to start the engine
perform the following:
1. Aim the Intelligent Key at the vehicle.
2. Press the
LOCK button to lock all
doors.
3. Within 5 seconds press and hold the
remote start button until the turn signal lights
flash and the tail lamps turn on. If the vehicle
is not within view press and hold the
remote start button for at least 2 seconds.
The following events will occur when the engine
starts:
● The parking lights will turn on and remain on
as long as the engine is running.
● The doors will be locked and the climate
control system may come on.

●The engine will continue to run for 10 min-
utes. Repeat the steps to extend the time for
an additional 10 minutes. For additional in-
formation, refer to “Extending engine run
time” in this section.
Depress and hold the brake then press the push-
button ignition switch to the ON position before
driving. For additional information, refer to “Driv-
ing the vehicle” in the “Starting and driving” sec-
tion of this manual.
EXTENDING ENGINE RUN TIME
The remote start feature can be extended one
time by performing the steps listed in “Remote
starting the vehicle” in this section. Run time will
be calculated as follows:
● The first 10 minute run time will start when
the remote start function is performed.
● The second 10 minutes will start immedi-
ately when the remote start function is per-
formed again. For example, if the engine has
been running for 5 minutes, and 10 minutes
are added, the engine will run for a total of
15 minutes.
● Extending engine run time will bring you to
the two remote start limit. A maximum of two remote starts, or a single start
with an extension, are allowed between ignition
cycles.
The ignition switch must be cycled to the ON
position and then back to the OFF position before
the remote start procedure can be used again.
CANCELING A REMOTE START
To cancel a remote start, perform one of the
following:
● Aim the Intelligent Key at the vehicle and
press
until the parking lights turn off.
● Turn on the hazard warning flashers.
● Cycle the ignition switch ON and then OFF.
● The extended engine run time has expired.
● The first 10 minute timer has expired.
● The engine hood has been opened.
● The shift lever is moved out of park.
● The alarm sounds due to illegal entry into the
vehicle.
● The ignition switch is pushed without an
Intelligent Key in the vehicle.
● The ignition switch is pushed with an Intelli-
gent Key in the vehicle but the brake pedal is
not depressed.
CONDITIONS THE REMOTE START
WILL NOT WORK
The remote start will not operate if any of the
following conditions are present:
● The ignition switch is placed in the ON po-
sition.
● The hood is not securely closed.
● The hazard indicator lights are on.
● The engine is still running. The engine must
be completely stopped. Wait at least 6 sec-
onds if the engine goes from running to off.
This is not applicable when extending en-
gine run time.
● The remote start button
is not pressed
and held for at least 2 seconds.
● The remote start button
is not pressed
and held within 5 seconds of pressing the
lock button.
● The brake is pressed.
● The doors are not closed and locked.
● The liftgate is open.
● The I–Key indicator message is displayed in
the vehicle information display.

●The alarm sounds due to illegal entry into the
vehicle.
● Two remote vehicle starts, or a single remote
start with an extension, have already been
used.
● The vehicle is not in P (Park) .
● There is a detected registered key already
inside of the vehicle.
● The remote start function has been switched
to the OFF position in Vehicle Settings of the
vehicle information display. For additional
information, refer to “Vehicle information dis-
play” in the “Instruments and controls” sec-
tion of this manual.
The remote engine start may display a warning or
indicator in the vehicle information display. For
additional information, refer to “Vehicle informa-
tion display” in the “Instruments and controls”
section of this manual.
1Pull the hood lock release handle located
below the driver side instrument panel. The
hood will spring up slightly.
2Push the lever at the front of the hood to the
side as illustrated with your fingertips and
raise the hood.
When closing the hood, lower it slowly and make
sure it locks into place.
WARNING
● Make sure the hood is completely
closed and latched before driving. Fail-
ure to do so could cause the hood to fly
open and result in an accident.
● If you see steam or smoke coming from
the engine compartment, to avoid injury
do not open the hood.

The liftgate will open to the selected position
setting. To change the position of the liftgate,
repeat Steps 1-3 for setting the position of the
liftgate.
OPENING THE FUEL-FILLER DOOR
The fuel-filler door automatically unlocks when
the driver’s door is unlocked.1. Unlock the fuel-filler door using one of the following operations:
● Unlock the driver’s door with the key fob.
● Unlock the driver’s door with the key.
● Push the power door lock switch to the
unlock position.
● Push the door handle request switch
(with the key fob in range) . 2. To open the fuel-filler door, push the right
side of the fuel-filler door to release.
To lock, close the fuel-filler door securely and
lock the doors.
FUEL-FILLER CAP
WARNING
● Gasoline is extremely flammable and
highly explosive under certain condi-
tions. You could be burned or seriously
injured if it is misused or mishandled.
Always stop the engine and do not
smoke or allow open flames or sparks
near the vehicle when refueling.
● Do not attempt to top off the fuel tank
after the fuel pump nozzle shuts off
automatically. Continued refueling may
cause fuel overflow, resulting in fuel
spray and possibly a fire.
● Use only an original equipment type
fuel-filler cap as a replacement. It has a
built-in safety valve needed for proper
operation of the fuel system and emis-
sion control system. An incorrect cap
can result in a serious malfunction and
possible injury. It could also cause
the
Malfunction Indicator Light
(MIL) to come on.
