WARNING!
²It is extremely dangerous to ride in a cargo area,
inside or outside of a vehicle. In a collision,
people riding in these areas are more likely to be
seriously injured or killed.
²Do not allow people to ride in any area of your
vehicle that is not equipped with seats and seat
belts.
²Be sure everyone in your vehicle is in a seat and
using a seat belt properly.
Head Restraints
Head restraints can reduce the risk of whiplash injury in
the event of impact from the rear. Adjustable head
restraints should be adjusted so that the upper edge is as
high as practical. The head restraints have a locking
button which must be pushed in to lower the headrestraint to all positions, except the full-down position.
To lower the head restraint to the full-down position, the
button does not have to be pushed in. The restraints may
be raised without pushing in the button.

To fold the 60/40 rear seat perform the following
steps:
1. Use the pull straps available on each seat cushion
section; pull the strap forward and pivot the cushion
forward flush with the front seatback.
2. Remove the headrests from the rear seatback. Press the
button and pull the headrest from the seatback.The headrest posts can be fitted into the openings pro-
vided in the folded seat cushion for storage.
3. Locate the seatback release handle on the outboard top
side of each rear seatback; lift up on the handle, and
rotate the lever forward until the seatback releases. Fold
the seatback completely forward.

NOTE:When lifting up on the release handle, the
seatback will release easier if you do not pull forward on
the seatback; only lift up on the release handle until the
seatback disengages, then fold the seat forward.To restore the 60/40 rear seat to the upright
position perform the following steps:
Raise the seatback and lock it into place. If interference
from the cargo area prevents the seatback from fully
locking, you will have difficulty returning the seat cush-
ion to its proper position. Remove the headrests from the
cushion panel storage position and reinstall into the rear
seat back.
WARNING!
Be certain that the seatback is securely locked into
position. If the seatback in not securely locked into
position the seat will not provide the proper stability
for child seats and/or passengers. An improperly
latched seat could cause serious injury.
Rotate the seat cushion rearward until it is latched into
place.
