21. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) Activation/
Malfunction Indicator Light — If EquippedThe “ESC Activation/Malfunction Indicator
Light” in the instrument cluster will come on
when the ignition switch is turned to the
ON/RUN position. It should go out with the
engine running. If the “ESC Activation/Malfunction In-
dicator Light” comes on continuously with the engine
running, a malfunction has been detected in the ESC
system. If this light remains on after several ignition
cycles, and the vehicle has been driven several miles
(kilometers) at speeds greater than 30 mph (48 km/h), see
your authorized dealer as soon as possible to have the
problem diagnosed and corrected. NOTE:
•The “ESC Off Indicator Light” and the “ESC
Activation/Malfunction Indicator Light” come on
momentarily each time the ignition switch is turned
to ON/RUN.
• Each time the ignition is turned to ON/RUN, the
ESC system will be ON, even if it was turned off
previously.
• The ESC system will make buzzing or clicking
sounds when it is active. This is normal; the sounds
will stop when ESC becomes inactive following the
maneuver that caused the ESC activation.
22. Park/Headlight ON Indicator — If Equipped
This indicator will illuminate when the park
lights or headlights are turned on.

Oil Life Reset
Your vehicle is equipped with an engine oil change
indicator system. The “Oil Change Required” message
will flash in the EVIC display for approximately 10 sec-
onds after a single chime has sounded, to indicate the
next scheduled oil change interval. The engine oil change
indicator system is duty cycle based, which means the
engine oil change interval may fluctuate, dependent
upon your personal driving style.
Vehicles Equipped With Passive Entry
1. Without pressing the brake pedal, press the ENGINESTART/STOP button and cycle the ignition to the
ON/RUN position (do not start the engine.)
2. Press and release the DOWNarrow button to scroll
downward through the main menu to “Vehicle Info”.
3. Press and release the RIGHTarrow button to access
the ”Oil Life” screen. 4. Press and hold the
RIGHTarrow button for one
second to access the ”Oil Life Reset” screen.
5. Press and release the DOWNarrow button to select
“Yes”, then press and release the Right arrow button to
select reset of the Oil Life.
6. Press and release the Uparrow button to exit the EVIC
screen.
Vehicles Not Equipped With Passive Entry
1. Without pressing the brake pedal, cycle the ignition to the ON/RUN position (do not start the engine.)
2. Press and release the DOWNarrow button to scroll
downward through the main menu to “ Vehicle Info”.

The Reconfigurable Telltales section is divided into the
white telltales area on the right, amber telltales in the
middle, and red telltales on the left.

•Transmission Temperature Warning Telltale
This telltale indicates that the transmission
fluid temperature is running hot. This may
occur with severe usage, such as trailer towing.
If this telltale turns on, safely pull over and
stop the vehicle. Then, shift the transmission into NEU-
TRAL and run the engine at idle or faster until the light
turns off.
CAUTION!
Continuous driving with the Transmission Tempera-
ture Warning Light illuminated will eventually cause
severe transmission damage or transmission failure.
WARNING!
If you continue operating the vehicle when the
Transmission Temperature Warning Light is illumi-
nated you could cause the fluid to boil over, come in
contact with hot engine or exhaust components and
cause a fire.
EVIC Red Telltales
This area will show reconfigurable red telltales. These
telltales include:
• Door Ajar
This light will turn on to indicate that one or
more doors may be ajar.

•Oil Pressure Warning Light
This telltale indicates low engine oil pressure. If
the light turns on while driving, stop the vehicle and shut
off the engine as soon as possible. A chime will sound for
four minutes when this light turns on.
Do not operate the vehicle until the cause is corrected.
This light does not show how much oil is in the engine.
The engine oil level must be checked under the hood.
• Oil Temperature Warning Light
This telltale indicates engine oil temperature is
high. If the light turns on while driving, stop
the vehicle and shut off the engine as soon as
possible. •
Charging System Light
This light shows the status of the electrical charging
system. If the light stays on or comes on while
driving, turn off some of the vehicle’s non-essential elec-
trical devices or increase engine speed (if at idle). If the
charging system light remains on, it means that the vehicle
is experiencing a problem with the charging system. Obtain
SERVICE IMMEDIATELY. See an authorized dealer.
If jump starting is required, refer to “Jump Starting Proce-
dures” in “What To Do In Emergencies”.
• Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Light
This light informs you of a problem with the
Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) system. The
light will come on when the ignition is first
turned ON and remain on briefly as a bulb
check. If the light does not come on during starting, have
the system checked by an authorized dealer.

If a problem is detected, the light will come on while the
engine is running. Cycle the ignition key when the
vehicle has completely stopped and the shift lever is
placed in the PARK position. The light should turn off.
If the light remains lit with the engine running, your
vehicle will usually be drivable. However, see an autho-
rized dealer for service as soon as possible. If the light is
flashing when the engine is running, immediate service is
required. You may experience reduced performance, an
elevated/rough idle or engine stall and your vehicle may
require towing.
•Engine Temperature Warning Light
This light warns of an overheated engine condi-
tion. As temperatures rise and the gauge ap-
proaches H,this indicator will illuminate and a single
chime will sound after reaching a set threshold. Further overheating will cause the temperature gauge to pass
H,
the indicator will continuously flash and a continuous
chime will occur until the engine is allowed to cool.
If the light turns on while driving, safely pull over and
stop the vehicle. If the A/C system is on, turn it off. Also,
shift the transmission into NEUTRAL and idle the ve-
hicle. If the temperature reading does not return to
normal, turn the engine off immediately and call for
service. Refer to “If Your Engine Overheats” in “What To
Do In Emergencies” for more information.
• Electric Power Steering Malfunction – If Equipped
This telltale is on when the Electric Power
Steering is not operating and needs service.

Press and release the UP or DOWN arrow button until
“Tire Pressure” is highlighted in the EVIC.If tire pressure is OK for all tires a vehicle ICON is
displayed with tire pressure values in each corner of the
ICON.
If one or more tires have low pressure, “Inflate Tire To
XX” is displayed with the vehicle ICON and the tire
pressure values in each corner of the ICON with the
pressure value of the low tire displayed in a different
color than the other tire pressure value.
If the Tire Pressure system requires service, “Service Tire
Pressure System” is displayed.
Tire PSI is an information only function and cannot be
reset. Press and release the LEFT arrow button to return
to the main menu.
Refer to “Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)”
under “Starting and Operating” for further information.

Launch Mode – If Equipped
This system maximizes acceleration traction for straight
line racing.
1. Bring vehicle to complete stop on a level track surfacewith the engine running.
2. Set the steering wheel for straight ahead driving.
3. Fully press the brake pedal.
4. Press and release the “LAUNCH” Button.
5. Press the accelerator pedal to the floor.
NOTE: If the cluster launch EVIC message indicates all
conditions are correct for launch and the throttle is
pressed to the floor quickly (within approximately
1/2 second) the system will hold the engine speed to a
preset speed (below the engine rev limiter speed).
6. Release the brake pedal. Pressing the launch control button when launch control is
active will deactivate launch control.
NOTE:
•
Launch Mode brings the engine to optimum RPM and
waits for the driver to release the brake. Launch Mode
then uses engine throttle only to achieve controlled
wheelslip for maximum acceleration through first
gear.
• Launch Mode can be initiated in any of the Select Trac
Modes.
• Launch Mode is not available until the 500 mile
break-in has been achieved.

Soft-Keys
Soft-Keys are accessible on the Uconnect® display.
Customer Programmable Features —
Uconnect® 5.0/8.4 Settings
Uconnect® 5.0 — Press the SETTINGS hard-key to dis-
play the menu setting screen. Uconnect® 8.4 — Touch the
“Apps” soft-key, then touch the “Settings” soft-key to
display the menu setting screen. In this mode the
Uconnect® system allows you to access programmable
features that may be equipped such as Display, Clock,
Safety/Assistance, Lights, Doors & Locks, Auto-On
Comfort & Remote Start, Engine Off Operation, Compass
Settings, Audio, Phone/Bluetooth® and SiriusXM Setup.
NOTE:Only one touchscreen area may be selected at a
time. When making a selection, touch the soft-key to enter the
desired mode. Once in the desired mode, touch and
release the preferred setting until a check-mark appears
next to the setting, showing that setting has been se-
lected. Once the setting is complete, either touch the back
arrow soft-key or the Back hard-key to return to the
previous menu or touch the “X” soft-key to close out of
the settings screen. Touching the Up or Down Arrow
soft-keys on the right side of the screen will allow you to
toggle up or down through the available settings.
Display
After pressing the “Display” soft-key the following set-
tings will be available:
•
Display Mode
When in this display you may select one of the auto
display settings. To change Mode status, touch and
release the “Day,” “Night” or “Auto” soft-key. Then
touch the back arrow soft-key.
