Average Fuel Economy (2)
The average fuel economy is calcu-
lated by the total driving distance
and fuel consumption since the last
average fuel economy reset.
- Fuel economy range: 0.0 ~ 99.9MPG or L/100km
The average fuel economy can be reset both manually and automati-
cally.
Manual reset
To clear the average fuel economy
manually, press the OK button
(reset) on the steering wheel for
more than 1 second when the aver-
age fuel economy is displayed. Automatic reset
To make the average fuel economy
be reset automatically whenever
refueling, select the “Fuel economy
auto reset” mode in User Setting
menu of the LCD window (Refer to
“LCD window”).
Under “Fuel economy auto reset”
mode, the average fuel economy will
be cleared to zero (---) when the vehi-
cle speed exceeds 1 mph (1 km/h)
after refueling more than 2 gallons (6
liters).

NOTICE
The average fuel economy is not dis-
played for more accurate calculation
if the vehicle does not drive more
than 10 seconds or 0.03 miles (50
meters) since Engine Start/Stop but-
ton is turned to ON.
Instant Fuel Economy (3)
This mode displays the instant fuel
economy during the last few sec-
onds when the vehicle speed is
more than 4.9 mph (8 km/h).
- Fuel economy range: 0 ~ 50(MPG), 0 ~ 30 (km/L, L/100 km).
CAUTION - Low Fuel
Level
Level warning light on or withthe fuel level below “0 or E” cancause the engine to misfire anddamage the catalytic converter(if equipped).

On this mode, you can change set-
ting of the doors, lamps, and so on.Head-Up Display (HUD)

Convenience
Seat Easy Access (if equipped)
- None : The seat easy access func- tion will be deactivated.
- Normal/Enhanced : When you turn off the engine, the driver’s seat will
automatically move rear 3inches
(7.6cm) (Enhanced) for you to
enter or exit the vehicle more com-
fortably.
If you change the Engine
Start/Stop Button from OFF posi-
tion to the AC function, the driver’s
seat will return to the original posi-
tion.

Steering Easy Access
(if equipped)
- On (checked) : The steering wheel will automatically move forward or
rearward for the driver enter or exit
the vehicle comfortably.
- Off (unchecked) : The steering easy access function will be deac-

Wireless smart phone charging
system (if equipped) : If this item
checked, the Wireless smart
phone charging system will be acti-

Low Key Battery
(for smart key system)
This warning message illuminatesif the battery of the smart key is
discharged when the Engine
Start/Stop Button changes to the
OFF position.
Press START button while turning
wheel (for smart key system)
This warning message illuminates if the steering wheel does not
unlock normally when the Engine
Start/Stop Button is pressed.
It means that you should press the Engine Start/Stop Button while
turning the steering wheel right
and left. Press brake pedal to start engine
(for smart key system)
This warning message illuminates
if the Engine Start/Stop Button
changes to the ACC position twice
by pressing the button repeatedly
without depressing the brake pedal.
It means that you should depress the brake pedal to start the engine.
Key not in vehicle (for smart key system)
This warning message illuminates if the smart key is not in the vehicle
when you press the Engine
Start/Stop Button.
It means that you should always have the smart key with you. Key not detected (for smart key system)
This warning message illuminates
if the smart key is not detected
when you press the Engine
Start/Stop Button.
Vehicle is On(for smart key system)
If the driver’s door is opened with the engine start/stop button in the
ON position and shift lever in
P(Park) position, the message
above will appear.

Anti-lock Brake System
(ABS) Warning Light
This warning light illuminates:
Once you set the Engine Start/Stop Button to the ON posi-
tion.
- It illuminates for approximately 3seconds and then goes off.
When there is a malfunction with the ABS (The normal braking sys-
tem will still be operational without
the assistance of the anti-lock
brake system).
In this case, have your vehicle
inspected by an authorized Kia
dealer.
Electronic
Brake forceDistribution(EBD) SystemWarning Light
These two warning lights illuminate at
the same time while driving:
When the ABS and regular brake system may not work normally.

When the ABS Warning Light is on
or both ABS and Parking Brake &
Brake Fluid Warning Lights are on,
the speedometer, odometer, or trip-
meter may not work. Also, the EPS
Warning Light may illuminate and
the steering effort may increase or
decrease.
In this case, have your vehicle inspect-
ed by an authorized Kia dealer as
soon as possible.

Brake force Distribution
(EBD) System Warning Light
When both ABS and Parking
Brake & Brake Fluid Warning
Lights are on, the brake system
will not work normally and you
may experience an unexpected
and dangerous situation during
sudden braking thereby
increasing the risk of a crash
and injury. In this case, avoid
high speed driving and abrupt
braking. Have your vehicle
inspected by an authorized Kia
dealer as soon as possible.

Electronic PowerSteering (EPS) WarningLight
This warning light illuminates:
Once you set the Engine Start/Stop Button to the ON posi-
tion.
- It remains on until the engine isstarted.

This warning light illuminates:

CAUTION - Catalytic
Converter Damage
If the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminates, poten-tial catalytic converter damageis possible which could result inloss of engine power.
In this case, have your vehicleinspected by an authorized Kiadealer as soon as possible.

Battery saver function
The purpose of this feature is to
prevent the battery from being dis-
charged if the lights are left in the
ON position. The system automati-
cally shuts off the parking lights 30
seconds after the ignition key is
removed and the driver’s door is
opened and closed.
With this feature, the parking lights will turn off automatically if the driver
parks on the side of the road at night
and opens the driver’s side door.
If necessary, to keep the parking
lights on when the ignition key is
removed, perform the following:
1) Open the driver-side door.
2) Turn the parking lights OFF and ON again using the light switch
on the steering column.
Lighting control
The light switch has a Headlight and
a Parking light position.
To operate the lights, turn the knob at
the end of the control lever to one of
the following positions:
(1) OFF position
(2) Auto light position
(3) Parking & Tail light
(4) Headlight position
Parking & Tail light ( )
When the light switch is in the park-
ing light position, the tail, license and
instrument panel lights will turn ON.

Clock
Whenever the battery terminals or
related fuses are disconnected, you
must reset the time.
When the ignition switch is in the
ACC or ON position, the clock but-
tons operate as follows:

Type A
Hour (1)
Pressing the H button will advance
the time displayed by one hour.
Minute (2)
Pressing the M button will advance
the time displayed by one minute.
Display conversion
To change the 12 hour format to the
24 hour format, press the “H” and “M”
buttons at the same time for more
than 5 seconds.
For example, if the “H” and “M” but-
tons are pressed for more than 5
seconds while the time is 10:15 p.m.,
the display will change to 22:15.

You can set the clock by using the
AVN (Audio or Navigation).
For the details, refer to the AVN man-
ual.

Steering wheel audio controls
(if equipped)
The steering wheel may incorporate
audio control buttons.
VOLUME ( / ) (1)
Press the lever upward ( ) toincrease the volume.
Press the lever downward ( ) to decrease the volume.
SEEK/PRESET ( / ) (2)
The SEEK/PRESET lever has differ-
ent functions based on the system
mode. For the following functions the
lever should be pressed for 0.8 sec-
onds or more.
RADIO mode
It will function as the AUTO SEEK
select button.
CD/USB/ iPod
®mode
It will function as the FF/REW button.
If the SEEK/PRESET button is
pressed for less than 0.8 seconds, it
will work as follows in each mode. RADIO mode
It will function as the PRESET STA-
TION buttons.
CD/USB/ iPod
®mode
It will function as TRACK UP/DOWN
button.

putting a vehicle into D (Drive)
or R (Reverse).

When you intend to park or stop
the vehicle with the engine on,
be careful not to depress the
accelerator pedal for a long
period of time. It may overheat
the engine or exhaust system
and cause fire.WARNING- Loose objects
Securely store items in your
vehicle. When you make a sud-
den stop or turn the steering
wheel rapidly, loose objects
may drop on the floor and it
could interfere with the opera-
tion of the foot pedals, possibly
causing an accident.WARNING- Driving while intoxicated
Do not drive while intoxicated.
Drinking and driving is danger-
ous. Even a small amount of
alcohol will affect your reflexes,
perceptions and judgment.
Driving while under the influ-
ence of drugs is as dangerous
as or more dangerous than driv-
ing drunk.
