TRUNK
Opening the trunk
1. Make sure the shift lever is in P andset the parking brake.
2. Then do one of the following: - Press the Remote key or SmartKey Trunk Unlock button for
more than one second.
- Press the button on the trunk it‐ self with the Smart Key in your
possession.
- Use the mechanical key.

WARNING

Make certain that you close thetrunk before driving your vehicle.Possible damage may occur to theattached hardware if the trunk isnot closed prior to driving.
Closing the trunk
To close, lower the trunk lid, then press
down on it until it locks. To be sure the trunk lid is securely fastened, always
check by trying to pull it up again.
WARNING
The trunk lid should always be keptcompletely closed while the vehicle isin motion. If it is left open or ajar,poisonous exhaust gases may enter

If you drive with the trunk open, youwill draw dangerous exhaust fumesinto your vehicle which can cause se‐rious injury or death to vehicle occu‐pants.If you must drive with the trunkopen, keep the air vents and all win‐dows open so that additional outsideair comes into the vehicle.
WARNING
nRear cargo area
Occupants should never ride in therear cargo area where no restraintsare available. To avoid injury in theevent of an accident or suddenstops, occupants should always beproperly restrained.
Emergency trunk safety release
(if equipped)
Your vehicle is equipped with an emer‐
gency trunk release lever located inside the trunk. If someone is inadvertently
locked in the trunk, moving the handle
in the direction of the arrow will release the trunk latch mechanism and open
the trunk.

HOOD
Opening the hood

1. Pull the release lever to unlatch thehood. The hood should pop open
slightly.

Open the hood after turning off theengine on a flat surface, shifting theshift lever to the P (Park) positionfor automatic transaxle/dual clutchtransmission and to the 1st (First)gear or R (Reverse) for manual

2. Go to the front of the vehicle, raise the hood slightly, push the secon‐
dary latch (1) left side and lift the
hood (2).
3. Raise the hood. It will completely rise by itself after it has been
raised about halfway.
Closing the hood
1. Before closing the hood, check the following: • All filler caps in the engine com‐
partment must be correctly in‐ stalled.
• Gloves, rags or any other com‐ bustible material must be re‐
moved from the engine compart‐ment.
2. Lower the hood halfway and push down to securely lock in place.
WARNING
•Before closing the hood, ensurethat all obstructions are removedfrom the hood opening. Closing thehood with an obstruction presentin the hood opening may result inproperty damage or severe per‐sonal injury.
•Do not leave gloves, rags or anyother combustible material in theengine compartment. Doing somay cause a heat-induced fire.

•Always double check to be surethat the hood is firmly latched be‐fore driving away. If it is not latch‐ed, the hood could open while thevehicle is being driven, causing to‐tal loss of visibility, which mightresult in an accident.

Wait until the fuel tank is depressur‐
ized. The message is displayed when the fuel filler lid opens after the fuel
tank is depressurized.
NOTICE
•It may take up to 20 seconds to
open fuel filler door.
•When the fuel filler door is frozen
and does not open after 20 sec‐
onds at freezing temperature,
slightly tap the fuel filler door and
then attempt to open it.

1. Stop the engine. 2. To open the fuel filler lid, push the
fuel filler lid opener button.
3. Pull open the fuel filler lid (1).
4. To remove the cap, turn the fuel filler cap (2) counterclockwise (3).
5. Refuel as needed.
WARNING
•Add fuel into the fuel tank within20 minutes after opening the fuelfiller lid. After 20 minutes, the fueltank may shut off, causing fuel tooverflow. In this case, re-press thefuel filler lid opening button.
•Do not leave the fuel filler dooropened for an extended period oftime. It may discharge the battery.
•Close the fuel filler lid after fuelingthe vehicle. If you start the vehiclewith the fuel filler lid opened, themessage L

Emergency fuel filler lid release
If the fuel filler lid does not open using
the remote fuel filler lid release, you can open it manually. Remove the panel
in the cargo area. Pull the handle out
slightly.
In this case, slowly open the fuel tank cap, because the fuel tank may be
highly pressurized. If fuel leaks out, or
if air hisses out, wait until it disappears, open the fuel tank cap, and slowly re‐
fuel the vehicle. If you quickly pour fuel
into the fuel tank, the fuel may over‐ flow out of the fuel tank.
CAUTION
Do not pull the handle excessively,otherwise the luggage compartmentarea trim or release handle may bedamaged.
WARNING
nRefueling dangers
Automotive fuels are flammable ma‐terials. When refueling, please notethe following guidelines carefully.Failure to follow these guidelinesmay result in severe personal injury,severe burns or death by fire or ex‐plosion.•Read and follow all warnings pos‐ted at the gas station facility.
•Before refueling note the locationof the Emergency Gasoline Shut-Off, if available, at the gas stationfacility.

•Before touching the fuel nozzle,you should eliminate potentiallydangerous static electricity dis‐charge by touching another metalpart of the vehicle, a safe distanceaway from the fuel filler neck,nozzle, or other gas source.
•Do not get back into a vehicle onceyou have begun refueling since youcan generate static electricity bytouching, rubbing or sliding againstany item or fabric (polyester, sat‐in, nylon, etc.) capable of produc‐ing static electricity. Static elec‐tricity discharge can ignite fuel va‐pors resulting in rapid burning. Ifyou must reenter the vehicle, youshould once again eliminate poten‐tially dangerous static electricitydischarge by touching a metal partof the vehicle, away from the fuelfiller neck, nozzle or other gasolinesource.

PANORAMA SUNROOF (IF EQUIPPED)

If your vehicle is equipped with a sun‐
roof, you can slide or tilt your sunroof with the sunroof control lever located
on the overhead console.
The sunroof can be operated for ap‐
proximately 30 seconds when the en‐ gine start/stop button is in the ON po‐
sition. However, if the front doors are
opened, the sunroof cannot be opened even within the 30 seconds period. • In cold and wet climates, the sunroof may not work properly due to freez‐
ing conditions.
• After the vehicle is washed or in a rainstorm, be sure to wipe off any
water that is on the sunroof before operating it.
CAUTION
nSunroof control lever
Do not continue to move the sunroofcontrol lever after the sunroof isfully opened, closed, or tilted. Dam‐age to the motor or system compo‐nents could occur.
CAUTION
Make sure the sunroof is fully closedwhen leaving your vehicle. If thesunroof is opened, rain or snow mayleak through the sunroof and wetthe interior as well as cause theft.
WARNING
nSunroof break
The sunroof, which is made of glass,may break if a sufficient impact isapplied. In this case, in an accident,any improperly belted occupant maybe tossed out of the vehicle through

the sunroof, possibly resulting intoinjury. To minimize all the possibleaccident risks, all occupants must beproperly belted and, in case of achild, be fastened in a proper childrestraint.
Sunroof open warning

If the driver turns off the engine when
the sunroof is not fully closed, the warning chime will sound for approxi‐
mately 7 seconds and a message will
appear on the LCD display.

•Never adjust the sunroof or sun‐shade while driving. This could re‐sult in loss of control and an acci‐dent that may cause death, seri‐ous injury, or property damage.
•If you would like to carry items onthe roof using a cross bar, do notoperate the sunroof.
•When carrying cargo on the roof,do not load heavy items above thesunroof or glass roof.
•Do not allow children to operatethe sunroof.
CAUTION
Do not extend any luggage outsidethe sunroof while driving.
Sunshade

To open the sunshade
Pull the sunroof control lever backward to the 1st detent position.
To close the sunshade when thesunroof glass is closed
Push the sunroof control lever forward
or pull it down to the 1st detent posi‐
tion.
To stop the sliding at any point, press the sunshade control switch momen‐
tarily.
NOTICE
Wrinkles formed on the sunshade as
material characteristic are normal.
CAUTION
•Do not pull or push the sunshadeby hand. It could cause sunshadefailure.
•Close the sunroof when drivingthrough dusty roads. Dust maycause a malfunction of the vehiclesystem.
