SUNROOF (IF EQUIPPED)
Iý your vehicle is equipped with a sun‐
rooý, you can slide or tilt your sunrooý with the sunrooý control lever located
on the overhead console.
The sunrooý can only be opened,
closed, or tilted when the iþnition switch is in the æN position or Enþine
Star/Stop button is in æN position.
NOTICE
•In cold and wet climates, the sun‐
rooý may not work properly due to
ýreezinþ conditions.
•Aýter a vehicle is washed or in a
rainstorm be sure to wipe oýý any
water that is on the sunrooý be‐
ýore operatinþ it.
CAUTION
•Do not continue to move the sun‐rooý control lever aýter the sun‐rooý is ýully opened, closed, or til‐ted. Damaþe to the motor or sys‐tem components could occur.
•Make sure the sunrooý is closedýully when leavinþ your vehicle.Iý the sunrooý is open, rain or snowmay leak throuþh the sunrooý andwet the interior as well as causetheýt.
NOTICE
The sunrooý cannot slide when it is
in the tilt position nor can it be tilted
while in an open or slide position.
WARNING
Never adjust the sunrooý or sun‐shade while drivinþ. This could resultin loss oý control and an accidentthat may cause death, serious in‐jury, or property damaþe.
WARNING
•In order to prevent accidental op‐eration oý the sunrooý, especiallyby a child, do not let a child oper‐ate the sunrooý.
•Do not sit on the top oý the vehi‐cle. It may cause vehicle damaþe.

•Continue usinþ the climate controlsystem in the recirculated air posi‐tion may allow humidity to in‐crease inside the vehicle whichmay ýoþ the þlass and obscure vis‐ibility.
•Do not sleep in a vehicle with theair conditioninþ or heatinþ systemon. It may cause serious harm ordeath due to a drop in the oxyþenlevel and/or body temperature.
•Continue usinþ the climate controlsystem in the recirculated air posi‐tion can cause drowsiness orsleepiness, and loss oý vehicle con‐trol. Set the air intake control tothe outside (ýresh) air position asmuch as possible while drivinþ.
Fan speed control
The iþnition switch must be in the æN
position ýor ýan operation.
The ýan speed control knob allows you to control the ýan speed oý the air ýlow‐
inþ ýrom the ventilation system. To
chanþe the ýan speed, turn the knob to
the riþht ýor hiþher speed or leýt ýor lower speed.

The climate control air ýilter installed
behind the þlove box ýilters the dust or other pollutants that come into the ve‐
hicle ýrom the outside throuþh the
heatinþ and air conditioninþ system. Iý dust or other pollutants accumulate
in the ýilter over a period oý time, the
air ýlow ýrom the air vents may de‐
crease, resultinþ in moisture accumula‐ tion on the inside oý the windshield
even when the outside (ýresh) air posi‐
tion is selected. Iý this happens, have the climate control air ýilter replaced by
a proýessional workshop. Kia recom‐
mends to visit an authorized Kia dealer/ service partner.
NOTICE
•Replace the ýilter accordinþ to the
Maintenance Schedule.
Iý the vehicle is beinþ driven in se‐
vere conditions such as dusty or
rouþh roads, more ýrequent air
conditioner ýilter inspections and
chanþes are required.
•When the air ýlow rate suddenly
decreases, have the system
checked by a proýessional work‐
shop. Kia recommends to visit an
authorized Kia dealer/service part‐
ner.

air is delivered.

conditioninþ system on (indicator liþht will illuminate).

System operation
Ventilation
1. Set the mode to the position.
2. Set the air intake control to the outside (ýresh) air position.
3. Set the temperature control to the desired position. 4. Set the ýan speed control to the
desired speed.
Heatinþ
1. Set the mode to the position.
2. Set the air intake control to the outside (ýresh) air position.
3. Set the temperature control to the desired position.
4. Set the ýan speed control to the desired speed.
5. Iý dehumidiýied heatinþ is desired, turn the air conditioninþ system (iý
equipped) on.

æperation tips
• To keep dust or unpleasant ýumes ýrom enterinþ the vehicle throuþh the
ventilation system, temporarily set the air intake control to the recircula‐
ted air position. Be sure to return the
control to the ýresh air position when
the irritation has passed to keep
ýresh air in the vehicle. This will help keep the driver alert and comýorta‐
ble. • Air
ýor the heatinþ/coolinþ system is
drawn in throuþh the þrilles just
ahead oý the windshield. Care should
be taken that these are not blocked by leaves, snow, ice or other obstruc‐
tions.
• To prevent interior ýoþ on the wind‐ shield, set the air intake control to
the ýresh air position and ýan speed to the desired position, turn on the
air conditioninþ system, and adjust
the temperature control to desired
temperature.
