SEAT BELTS
Seat belt restraint system
WARNING
•For maximum restraint systemprotection, the seat belts must al‐ways be used whenever the car ismoving.
•Seat belts are most effective whenseatbacks are in the upright posi‐tion.
•Children age 12 and younger mustalways be properly restrained inthe rear seat. Never allow childrento ride in the front passenger seat.If a child over 12 must be seated inthe front seat, he/she must beproperly belted and the seatshould be moved as far back aspossible.
•Never wear the shoulder belt un‐der your arm or behind your back.An improperly positioned shoulderbelt can cause serious injuries in acrash. The shoulder belt should bepositioned midway over yourshoulder across your collarbone.

•Never wear a seat belt over fragileobjects. If there is a sudden stopor impact, the seat belt can dam‐age it.
•Avoid wearing twisted seat belts.A twisted belt can't do its job aswell. In a collision, it could even cutinto you. Be sure the belt webbingis straight and not twisted.
•Be careful not to damage the beltwebbing or hardware. If the beltwebbing or hardware is damaged,replace it.
WARNING
Seat belts are designed to bear uponthe bony structure of the body, andshould be worn low across the frontof the pelvis or the pelvis, chest andshoulders, as applicable; wearing thelap section of the belt across the ab‐dominal area must be avoided.Seat belts should be adjusted asfirmly as possible, consistent withcomfort, to provide the protectionfor which they have been designed.

A slack belt will greatly reduce theprotection afforded to the wearer.Care should be taken to avoid con‐tamination of the webbing with pol‐ishes, oils and chemicals, and partic‐ularly battery acid.Cleaning may safely be carried outusing mild soap and water. The beltshould be replaced if webbing be‐comes frayed, contaminated ordamaged.It is essential to replace the entireassembly after it has been worn in asevere impact even if damage to theassembly is not obvious. Belts shouldnot be worn with straps twisted.Each belt assembly must only beused by one occupant; it is danger‐ous to put a belt around a child beingcarried on the occupant's lap.

•The SRS can function only whenthe ignition switch is in the ON po‐sition. If the SRS "" warning lightdoes not illuminate, or continuous‐ly remains on after illuminating forabout 6 seconds when the ignitionswitch is turned to the ON posi‐tion, or after the engine is started,comes on while driving, the SRS isnot working properly. In this case,have the system inspected by aprofessional workshop. Kia recom‐mends to visit an authorized Kiadealer/service partner.
•Before you replace a fuse or dis‐connect a battery terminal, turnthe ignition switch to the LOCK po‐sition and remove the ignition key.Never remove or replace the airbag related fuse (s) when the igni‐tion switch is in the ON position.Failure to heed this warning willcause the SRS L

Battery replacement

The transmitter uses a 3 volt lithium
battery which will normally last for several years. When replacement is
necessary, use the following procedure. 1. Insert a slim tool into the slot and gently pry open the transmitter
center cover.
2. Replace the battery with a new battery (CR2032). When replacing
the battery, make sure the battery
position.
3. Install the battery in the reverse order of removal.
For transmitter replacement, Kia rec‐
ommends to visit an authorized Kia
dealer/service partner.
CAUTION
•The keyless entry system trans‐mitter is designed to give youyears of trouble-free use, howev‐er it can malfunction if exposed tomoisture or static electricity. Ifyou are unsure how to use or re‐place the battery, Kia recommendsto contact an authorized Kia deal‐er/ service partner.

•Using the wrong battery can causethe transmitter or smart key tomalfunction. Be sure to use thecorrect battery.
•To avoid damaging the transmitteror smart key, don't drop it, get itwet, or expose it to heat or sun‐light.
CAUTION
An inappropriately disposed batterycan be harmful to the environmentand human health.Dispose the battery according toyour local law(s) or regulation.

Sunshade
The sunshade will be opened with the
glass panel automatically when the glass panel is slid. You will have to close
it manually if you want it closed.
Resetting the sunroof
Sunroof needs to be reset if (in the fol‐
lowings)
- Battery is discharged or disconnected
or the related fuse has been replaced
or disconnected.
- The one-touch sliding function of the
sunroof does not normally operate.
1. The ignition switch must be in the ON position. 2. Close the sunroof completely.
3. Release the control lever.
4. Push the control lever forward until
the sunroof tilts and slightly moves
up and down. Then, release lever.
5. Push the control lever forward until the sunroof is operated as follows:
TILT OPEN
SLIDE OPEN SLIDE
CLOSE
Then, release the control lever.
If the sunroof does not operate proper‐
ly after resetting, have the system checked by a professional workshop.
Kia recommends to visit an authorized
Kia dealer/service partner.
CAUTION
If the sunroof is not reset when thevehicle battery is disconnected ordischarged, or related fuse is blown,the sunroof may operate improper‐ly.

Folding the outside rearview mirror
Electric Type (if equipped)
To fold the outside rearview mirror, de‐
press the button.
To unfold it, depress the button again.
CAUTION
The electric type outside rearviewmirror operates even though the ig‐nition switch is in the OFF position.However, to prevent unnecessarybattery discharge, do not adjust themirrors longer than necessary whilethe engine is not running.
CAUTION
In case it is an electric type outsiderearview mirror, don’t fold it byhand. It could cause motor failure.

To fold outside rearview mirror, grasp
the housing of mirror and then fold it toward the rear of the vehicle.
