CAUTION
Use the power outlet only when the
engine is running and remove theaccessory plug after use. Using theaccessory plug for prolonged peri-
ods of time with the engine offcould cause the battery to dis-charge.
Only use 12V electric accessories which are less than 10A in electric
capacity.
Adjust the air-conditioner or heater to the lowest operating level whenusing the power outlet.
Close the cover when not in use. Some electronic devices can cause electronic interference whenplugged into a vehicle’s power out-let. These devices may causeexcessive audio static and malfunc-
tions in other electronic systems ordevices used in your vehicle.WARNING
Do not put a finger or a foreign ele-
ment (pin, etc.) into a power outlet
and do not touch with a wet hand.
You may get an electric shock.

(see the example)
1. CMF60L-BCI : The Kia model name of battery
2. 12V : The nominal voltage
3. 60Ah(20HR) : The nominal capacity
(in Ampere hours)
4. 92RC : The nominal reserve capacity (in min.)
5. 550CCA : The cold-test current in
amperes by SAE
6. 440A : The cold-test current in amperes by EN Battery recharging
Your vehicle has a maintenance-free,
calcium-based battery.
If the battery becomes discharged in a
short time (because, for example, the
headlights or interior lights were left on
while the vehicle was not in use),
recharge it by slow charging (trickle)
for 10 hours.
If the battery gradually discharges because of high electric load while the
vehicle is being used, recharge it at 20-
30A for two hours.

The electrical ignition systemworks with high voltage. Never
touch these components with theengine running or the ignition
switched on.
Failure to follow the above warn-
ings can result in serious bodily
injury or death.
CAUTION - AGM battery (if equipped)
Absorbent Glass Matt (AGM) bat-
teries are maintenance-free andwe recommend that the systembe serviced by an authorized Kia
dealer. For charging your AGMbattery, use only fully automatic battery chargers that are special-ly developed for AGM batteries.
When replacing the AGM battery, we recommend that you use partsfor replacement from an author-ized Kia dealer.

CAUTION
When you don’t use the vehiclefor a long time in the low temper-ature area, separate the battery and keep it indoors.
Always charge the battery fully to prevent battery case damage inlow temperature area.
If you connect unauthorized elec- tric devices to the battery, the bat-tery may be discharged. Neveruse unauthorized devices.
WARNING
Separating the battery from the

FUSES
A vehicle’s electrical system is protected
from electrical overload damage by
fuses. This vehicle has 2 (or 3) fuse panels, one
located in the driver’s side panel bolster,
the other in the engine compartment near
the battery.
If any of your vehicle’s lights, accessories,
or controls do not work, check the appro-
priate circuit fuse. If the fuse is discon-
nected, every electrical system protected
by the fuse will not operate. Therefore,
you must change the fuse.
If the electrical system does not work, first
check the driver’s side fuse panel.
Always replace a blown fuse with one of
the same rating.
Before replacing a blown fuse, disconnect
the negative battery cable.
If the replacement fuse blows, this indi-
cates an electrical problem. Avoid using
the system involved and we recommend
that you consult an authorized Kia dealer.
Three kinds of fuses are used: blade type
for lower amperage rating, cartridge typeand multi fuse for higher amperage rat-ings.
✽✽ NOTICE
According to electronics option of vehi-
cle, some fuse and relays written in bom
label could not be applied.OBK079042

WARNING - Fuse
replacement
Never replace a fuse with any- thing but another fuse of the same rating.
A higher capacity fuse could cause damage and possibly a fire.
Never install a wire or aluminum foil instead of the proper fuse -
even as a temporary repair. It may
cause extensive wiring damage
and a possible fire.
Do not arbitrarily modify or add- on electric wiring of the vehicle.
CAUTION
Do not use a screwdriver or any
other metal object to remove fusesbecause it may cause a short circuit and damage the system.
