When the HI-level setting is selected,
the heater will provide a boosted heat
level during the first four minutes of
operation. Then, the heat output will
drop to the normal HI-level. If the
HI-level setting is selected, the system
will automatically switch to LO-level
after a maximum of 60 minutes of
continuous operation. At that time,
the display will change from HI to LO,
indicating the change. The LO-level
setting will turn OFF automatically
after a maximum of 45 minutes.
Rear Heated Seats
On some models, the two outboard
seats are equipped with heated seats.
The heated seat switches for these
seats are located on the rear of the
center console. There are two heated
seat switches that allow the rear pas-
sengers to operate the seats indepen-
dently.You can choose from HI, LO or OFF
heat settings. Amber indicator lights
in each switch indicate the level of
heat in use. Two indicator lights will
illuminate for HI, one for LO and
none for OFF.
Press the switch once to se-
lect HI-level heating. Press
the switch a second time to
select LO-level heating.
Press the switch a third time to shut
the heating elements OFF.
NOTE:
Once a heat setting is selected, heat will be felt within two to
five minutes.
The engine must be running for the heated seats to operate.
When the HI-level setting is selected,
the heater will provide a boosted heat

changes from two to one, indicating

mum of 45 minutes.
VENTILATED SEATS (for
versions/markets, where
provided)
On some models, both the driver and
passenger seats are ventilated. Lo-
cated in the seat cushion and seatback
are small fans that draw air from the
seat surface through fine perforations
in the seat cover to help keep the
driver and front passenger cooler in
higher ambient temperatures.
The ventilated seats can be operated
using the Uconnect® System.
NOTE: The engine must be run-
ning for the ventilated seats to op-
erate.

Press the “Controls” soft-key located
on the bottom of the Uconnect® dis-
play.

HIGH/LOW BEAM SWITCH
Push the multifunction lever away
from you to switch the headlights to
high beam. Pull the multifunction le-
ver toward you to switch the head-
lights back to low beam.
FLASH-TO-PASS
You can signal another vehicle with
your headlights by lightly pulling the
multifunction lever toward you. This
will turn on the high beams headlights
until the lever is released.
COURTESY LIGHTS
The courtesy lights can be turned on
by pressing the top corner of the lens.
To turn the lights off, press the lens a
second time.
FRONT MAP/READING
LIGHTS
The front map/reading lights are
mounted in the overhead console.
Each light can be turned on by press-
ing a switch on either side of the con-
sole. These switches are backlit for
night time visibility. To turn the lights
off, press the switch a second time.
The lights will also turn on when the
UNLOCK button on the Remote Key-
less Entry (RKE) is pressed.
AMBIENT LIGHT
The overhead console is equipped
with an ambient light feature. This
light casts illumination for improved
visibility of the floor center console
and PRNDL area.
INTERIOR LIGHTS
The interior lights come on when a
door is opened.

ignition switch is turned to the LOCK
position. Opening either front door
will cancel this feature.
NOTE:
For vehicles equipped with theEVIC, the power sunroof switch
will remain active for up to ap-
proximately ten minutes after
the ignition switch is turned to
the LOCK position. Opening ei-
ther front door will cancel this
feature.
The Ignition Off time is pro- grammable using the
Uconnect® System. Refer to
“Uconnect® Settings” in “Un-
derstanding Your Instrument
Panel” for further information.
ELECTRICAL POWER
OUTLETS
There are three 12 Volt (13 Amp)
electrical power outlets on this ve-
hicle. The power outlets are protected
by a fuse. Insert cigar lighter or accessory plug
into the power outlets for use to en-
sure proper operation.
CAUTION!
Do not exceed the maximum
power of 160 Watts (13 Amps) at
12 Volts. If the 160 Watts (13
Amps) power rating is exceeded,
the fuse protecting the system will
need to be replaced.
Power outlets are designed for ac- cessory plugs only. Do not insert
any other object in the power out-
lets as this will damage the outlet
and blow the fuse. Improper use
of the power outlet can cause
damage not covered by your New
Vehicle Limited Warranty.
The front 12 Volt power outlet has
power available only when the igni-
tion is placed in the ACC or RUN
position.
WARNING!
Do not place ashes inside the cubby
bin located on the center console on
vehicle's not equipped with the ash
receiver tray. A fire leading to
bodily injury could result.
The center console outlet is powered
directly from the battery (power
available at all times). Items plugged
into this outlet may discharge the bat-
tery and/or prevent the engine from
starting.

There is also a 12 volt power outlet
located on the back of the center con-
sole for rear passengers. This power
outlet has power available only when
the ignition is placed in the ACC or
RUN position.
WARNING!
To avoid serious injury or death:
Only devices designed for use inthis type of outlet should be in-
serted into any 12 Volt outlet.
Do not touch with wet hands.
Close the lid when not in use and while driving the vehicle.
If this outlet is mishandled, it may cause an electric shock and fail-
ure.
CAUTION!
Many accessories that can beplugged in draw power from the
vehicle's battery even when not in
use (i.e., cellular phones, etc.).
Eventually, if plugged in long
enough, the vehicle's battery will
discharge sufficiently to degrade
battery life and/or prevent the
engine from starting.
Accessories that draw higher power (i.e., coolers, vacuum
cleaners, lights, etc.) will degrade
the battery even more quickly.
Only use these intermittently and
with greater caution.
After the use of high power draw accessories or long periods of the
vehicle not being started (with
accessories still plugged in), the
vehicle must be driven a suffi-
cient length of time to allow the
alternator to recharge the vehi-
cle's battery.

CUPHOLDERS
The cupholders are located in the for-
ward edge of the center console. Heated and Cooled Cupholders
(for versions/markets, where
provided)
Your vehicle may be equipped with
heated and cooled cupholders. The
cupholders are designed to help keep
warm beverages warm and cold bev-
erages cool.Press the “Cold” symbol once to turn
on the cupholder; press the symbol a
second time to turn the cupholder off.
Press the “Hot” symbol once to acti-
vate the cupholder; press the symbol a
second time to turn off the cupholder.
WARNING!
When using the cupholder in the
“Hot” position, avoid contact with
the heated portion of the cupholder
in order to reduce the possibility of
burns. Persons who are unable to
feel pain to the skin because of ad-
vanced age, chronic illness, diabe-
tes, spinal cord injuries, medica-
tion, alcohol use, exhaustion or
other physical condition must exer-
cise particular care in order to pre-
vent serious burn injury. Keep the
cupholder free of debris or stray
objects when operated in the Heat
position.

REAR SEAT CUPHOLDERS
The rear seat cupholders are located
in the center armrest between the rear
seats. The cupholders are positioned
forward in the armrest and side-by-
side to provide convenient access to
beverage cans or bottles while main-
taining a resting place for the rear
occupant's elbows.
Lighted Cupholders
On some vehicles the rear cupholders
are equipped with a light ring that
illuminates the cupholders for the
rear passengers. The light ring is con-
trolled by the Dimmer Control. Refer
to “Lights” in “Understanding The
Features Of Your Vehicle” for further
information.
STORAGE
GLOVEBOX STORAGE
The glovebox storage compartment is
located on the passenger side of the
instrument panel.
CONSOLE FEATURES
There is a cubby bin located forward of
the shift lever. The cubby bin is cov-
ered with a push-push actuated door.
Push inward on the door to open it,
push the door a second time to close it.
Two separate storage compartments
are also located underneath the center

Inside the center console armrest,
there is a removable upper storage
tray that can be slid forward/
rearward on rails for access to the
lower storage area. This tray has an
integrated coin holder, along with ad-
ditional area for small items like an
ipod or phone. Below the upper tray,
the lower storage compartment is
made for larger items, like CDs and
tissue boxes. In addition, the 12 volt
power outlet, USB and Aux jack are
located here.WARNING!
Do not operate this vehicle with a
console compartment lid in the
open position. Cellular phones, mu-
sic players, and other handheld
electronic devices should be stowed
while driving. Use of these devices
while driving can cause an accident
due to distraction, resulting in
death or injury.
DOOR STORAGE
The door panels contain storage ar-
eas.

For rear passengers there is a storage
bin located in the armrest. Lift up-
ward on the latch to open the storage
compartment.

The 60/40 split-folding rear seat pro-
vides cargo-carrying versatility. The
seatbacks fold down easily by pulling
nylon tabs between the seatbacks and

The power sunshade can be operated
using the Uconnect® System.
Press the “Controls” soft-key and
then press the “Sunshade” soft-key to
raise the power sunscreen. Press the
“Sunshade” soft-key a second time to
lower the sunshade.
If the sunshade is in the raised posi-
tion and the vehicle is placed in RE-
VERSE, the sunshade will automati-
cally fully lower. When the
transmission is shifted out of RE-
VERSE the sunshade will automati-
cally return to the fully raised position
after approximately five seconds.
NOTE: The rear sunshade control
switch can be locked out with the
rear passenger window controls
from the driver switch window
lockout switch.The power sunshade can also be oper-
ated by passengers in the rear seats.
The power sunshade switch is located
on the back of the center console be-
tween the heated seat switches. Press
the switch once to raise the sunshade.
Press the switch a second time to
lower the sunshade.
LOAD LEVELING
SYSTEM
The automatic load leveling system
will provide a level-riding vehicle un-
der most passenger and cargo loading
conditions.
A hydraulic pump contained within
the shock absorbers raises the rear of
the vehicle to the correct height. It
takes approximately 1.6 km of driv-
ing for the leveling to complete de-
pending on road surface conditions.
If the leveled vehicle is not moved for
approximately 15 hours, the leveling
system will bleed itself down. The ve-
hicle must be driven to reset the
system.

SHIFT LEVER
OVERRIDE — 5 SPEED
TRANSMISSION
If a malfunction occurs and the shift
lever cannot be moved out of the
PARK position, you can use the fol-
lowing procedure to temporarily
move the shift lever:
1. Turn the engine OFF.
2. Firmly apply the parking brake.
3. Remove the rubber liner from the
storage tray (located next to the
shifter on the center console).
4. Press and maintain firm pressure
on the brake pedal.
5. Insert a screwdriver or similar tool
into the access port (in the left side of
the storage bin), and push and hold
the override release lever in.6. Move the shift lever to the NEU-
TRAL position.
7. The vehicle may then be started in
NEUTRAL.
8. Reinstall the rubber storage bin
liner.
MANUAL PARK
RELEASE — 8 SPEED
TRANSMISSION
WARNING!
Always secure your vehicle by fully
applying the parking brake, before
activating the Manual Park Re-
lease. Activating the Manual Park
Release will allow your vehicle to
roll away if it is not secured by the
parking brake or by proper connec-
tion to a tow vehicle. Activating the
Manual Park Release on an unse-
cured vehicle could lead to serious
injury or death for those in or
around the vehicle.
In order to push or tow the vehicle in
cases where the transmission will not
shift out of PARK (such as a dead
battery), a Manual Park Release is
available.
Shift Lever Override

Follow these steps to use the Manual
Park Release:
1. To prevent the vehicle from rolling
unintentionally, firmly apply the
parking brake.
2. Remove the console storage bin to
access the Manual Park Release lever.
3. Using a small screwdriver or simi-
lar tool, fish the tether strap up
through the opening in the console
base.
4. Insert the screwdriver into the slot
in the center of the lever, and disen-
gage the lever locking tab by pushing
it to the right.5. While holding the locking tab in
the disengaged position, pull the
tether strap to rotate the lever up and
rearward, until it locks in place in the
vertical position. The vehicle is now
out of PARK and can be towed. Re-
lease the parking brake only when the
vehicle is securely connected to a tow
vehicle.To Reset The Manual Park Re-
lease:
1. Push the latch (at the base of the
lever, on the rear side) rearward
(away from the lever) to unlatch the
lever.
2. Rotate the Manual Park Release
lever forward and down, to its original
position, until the locking tab snaps
into place to secure the lever.
3. Pull up gently on the tether strap
to confirm that the lever is locked in
its stowed position.
4. Tuck the tether strap into the base
of the console. Reinstall the console
storage bin.
