Warning message in radar cruise mode
In the following cases, the warning message may not be displayed even if
vehicle-to-vehicle distance decreases:
When your vehicle and the vehicle ahead are traveling at the same speed
or the vehicle ahead is traveling more quickly than your vehicle
When the vehicle ahead is traveling at a very low speed
Immediately after cruise control speed is set
At the instant the accelerator pedal is depressed

Emergency start function
When the hybrid system does not start, the following steps can be
used as an interim measure to start the hybrid system if the
“POWER” switch is functioning normally:
Set the parking brake.
Turn the “POWER” switch to ACCESSORY mode.
Press and hold the “POWER” switch for about 15 seconds
while depressing the brake pedal firmly.
Even if the hybrid system can be started using the above steps, the
system may be malfunctioning. Have the vehicle inspected by any
authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and
equipped professional.
The interior lights and headlights do not turn on, or the horn
does not sound.
One of the following may be the cause of the problem:
One or both of the 12-volt battery terminals may be discon-
nected.
The 12-volt battery may be discharged. (P. 508)
Contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly
qualified and equipped professional if the problem cannot be
repaired, or if repair procedures are unknown.

Stopping the hybrid system
Set the parking brake, shift the shift position to P and press the “POWER”
switch as you normally do when stopping the hybrid system.
Replacing the key battery
As the above procedure is a temporary measure, it is recommended that the
electronic key battery be replaced immediately when the battery is depleted.
(P. 527)
Alarm (if equipped)
Using the mechanical key to lock the doors will not set the alarm system.
If a door is unlocked using the mechanical key when the alarm system is set,
the alarm may be triggered. (P. 142)
Changing “POWER” switch modes
Within 10 seconds of the buzzer sounding, release the brake pedal and press
the “POWER” switch.
The hybrid system does not start and modes will be changed each time the
switch is pressed.(P. 200)

Start the engine of the second vehicle. Increase the
engine speed slightly and maintain at that level for
approximately 5 minutes to recharge the battery of your
vehicle.
Open and close any of the doors of your vehicle with the
“POWER” switch off.
Maintain the engine speed of the second vehicle and start
the hybrid system of your vehicle by turning the
“POWER” switch to ON mode.
Make sure the “READY” indicator light comes on. If the
indicator light does not come on, contact any authorized
Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and
equipped professional.
Once the hybrid system has started, remove the jumper
cables in the exact reverse order from which they were
connected.
To install the engine cover, conduct the removal proce-
dure in reverse. After installing, check that the fixed pins
are inserted securely.
Once the hybrid system starts, have the vehicle inspected at any

Customizable features
Customizing vehicle features
It is possible to customize certain vehicle features using the
“DISP” switch.
When customizing vehicle features, ensure that the vehicle is
parked in a safe place with the shift position in P and the parking
brake set.
Press the “DISP” switch to dis-
play the “SETTINGS” screen
while the vehicle is stopped,
and then press and hold the
“DISP” switch to display the
customize mode screen.
Your vehicle includes a variety of electronic features that can be per-
sonalized to suit your preferences. Programming these preferences
requires specialized equipment and may be performed by any autho-
rized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped
professional.
It is also possible to customize certain vehicle features yourself using
the “DISP” switch and the navigation system screen.
For instructions on customizing vehicle features using the navigation
system screen, refer to the “Navigation System Owner’s Manual”.
Some function settings are changed simultaneously with other func-
tions being customized. Contact any authorized Lexus dealer or
