Air conditioning
Use the air conditioning only when necessary. Doing so can help
control excessive gasoline consumption.
In summer: In high temperatures, use the recirculated air mode.
Doing so will help to reduce the burden on the air conditioner and
reduce fuel consumption as well.
In winter: Because the gasoline engine will not automatically cut
out until the gasoline engine and the interior of the vehicle are
warm, it will consume fuel. Also, fuel consumption can be
improved by avoiding overuse of the heater.
Checking tire inflation pressure
Make sure to check the tire inflation pressure frequently. Improper
tire inflation pressure can cause poor fuel consumption.
Also, as snow tires can cause large amounts of friction, their use on
dry roads can lead to poor fuel consumption. Use a tire that is
appropriate for the season.
Luggage
Carrying heavy luggage can lead to poor fuel consumption. Avoid
carrying unnecessary luggage. Installing a large roof rack can also
cause poor fuel consumption.
Warming up before driving
Since the gasoline engine starts up and cuts out automatically when
cold, warming up the engine is unnecessary. Moreover, frequently
driving short distances will cause the engine to repeatedly warm up,
which can lead to poor fuel consumption.

Card key
The mechanical key that is stored inside the card key should be used
only if a problem arises, such as when the card key does not operate
properly.
If it is difficult to take out the mechanical key, push down the lock
release button using a pen tip etc. If it is still difficult to pull it out, use a
coin etc.
The card key is not waterproof.
To store the mechanical key in the
card key, insert it while pressing the
lock release button.
If the battery cover is not installed
and the battery falls out or if the bat-
tery was removed because the key
got wet, reinstall the battery with
the positive terminal facing the
Lexus emblem.

Power windows
The power windows can be opened and closed using the switches.
Operating the switch moves the windows as follows:
Closing
One-touch closing

Opening
One-touch opening

: To stop the window part-
way, operate the switch in
the opposite direction.

Window lock switch
Press the switch down to lock
the passenger window.
Use this switch to prevent chil-
dren from accidentally opening
or closing a passenger window.
The power windows can be operated when
The “POWER” switch is in ON mode.
Operating the power windows after turning the hybrid system off
The power windows can be operated for approximately 43 seconds even
after the “POWER” switch is turned to ACCESSORY mode or turned off.
They cannot, however, be operated once either front door is opened.
Jam protection function
If an object becomes caught between the window and the window frame,
window travel is stopped and the window is opened slightly.

When the power window does not close normally
If the jam protection function is operating abnormally and a window cannot
be closed, perform the following operations using the power window switch
on the relevant door.
After stopping the vehicle, the window can be closed by holding the
power window switch in the one-touch closing position while the
“POWER” switch is turned to ON mode.
If the window still cannot be closed even by carrying out the operation
explained above, initialize the function by performing the following pro-
cedure.
Hold the power window switch in the one-touch closing position.
Continue holding the switch for a further 6 seconds after the win-
dow has closed.
Hold the power window switch in the one-touch opening position.
Continue holding the switch for a further 2 seconds after the win-
dow has opened completely.
Hold the power window switch in the one-touch closing position
once again. Continue holding the switch for a further 2 seconds
after the window has closed.
If you release the switch while the window is moving, start again from the
beginning.
If the window continues to close but then re-open slightly even after per-
forming the above procedure correctly, have the vehicle inspected by any
authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped
professional.
