In the situations below, the system may not be able to correctly detect the
surrounding brightness levels, and may flash or expose nearby pedestrians
to the high beam. Therefore, you should consider turning the high beams on
or off manually rather than relying on the Automatic High Beam system.
• In bad weather (rain, snow, fog, sandstorms etc.)
• The windshield is obscured by fog, mist, ice, dirt etc.
• The windshield is cracked or damaged.
• The inside rear view mirror or camera sensor is deformed or dirty.
• Surrounding brightness levels are equal to those of headlights, tail lights
or fog lights.
• Vehicles ahead have headlights that are either switched off, dirty, are
changing color, or have are not aimed properly.
• When driving through an area of intermittently changing brightness and
darkness.
• When frequently and repeatedly driving ascending/descending roads, or
roads with rough, bumpy or uneven surfaces (such as stone-paved roads,
gravel tracks etc.).
• When frequently and repeatedly taking curves or driving on a winding
road.
• There is a highly reflective object ahead of the vehicle, such as a sign or
a mirror.
• The vehicle’s headlights are damaged or dirty.
• The vehicle is listing or titling, due to a flat tire, a trailer being towed etc.
• The driver believes that the high beam may be causing problems or dis-
tress to other drivers or pedestrians nearby.
CAUTION
Limitations of the Automatic High Beam
Do not rely on the Automatic High Beam. Always drive safely, taking care
to observe your surroundings and turning high beam on or off manually if
necessary.

Fog lights can be used when
Vehicles with a front and rear fog light switch
Front fog lights: The headlights or the front position lights are turned on.
Rear fog light: The front fog lights are turned on.
Vehicles with a rear fog light switch
The headlights or the front position lights are turned on.

CAUTION
Situations unsuitable for LKA
Do not use LKA in any of the following situations.
Otherwise, the system may not function correctly and could result in an
accident.
When driving with snow tires, tire chains, a spare tire, or similar equip-
ment
When the tires have been excessively worn, or when the tire inflation
pressure is low
When there are objects or structures along the roadside that might be mis-
interpreted as lane markers (such as guardrails, curb, reflector posts, etc.)
When driving on snowy roads
When pavement lane markers are difficult to see due to rain, snow, fog,
etc.
When there are visible lines on the pavement from road repairs, or if the
remains of old lane markers are still visible on the road
When driving on slippery roads, such as those covered with rain, ice or
snow
When driving in a lane other than the driving or passing lanes on a free-
way or highway
When driving on a road with lane closures due to maintenance, or when
driving in a temporary lane
When towing a trailer
NOTICE
To prevent damage to or incorrect operation of the LKA system
Do not modify the headlights or attach stickers to the surface of the lights.
Do not modify the suspension, or replace them with non-genuine parts.
Do not install or place anything on the hood or the grille. Also, do not
install a grille guard (bull bars, kangaroo bar etc.).
Do not modify the sun visor or replace it with anything other than a genu-
ine Lexus product.
If your windshield needs repairs, contact any authorized Lexus dealer or
repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional.

Situations in which the pre-crash safety system does not function properly
The system may not function effectively in situations such as the following:
On roads with sharp bends or uneven surfaces
If a vehicle suddenly moves in front of your vehicle, such as at an intersec-
tion
If a vehicle suddenly cuts in front of your vehicle, such as when overtaking
In inclement weather such as heavy rain, fog, snow or sand storms
When your vehicle is skidding such as the VSC system off
When your vehicle is steeply inclined
Automatic cancelation of the pre-crash safety system
When a malfunction occurs due to sensor contamination, etc. that results in
the sensors being unable to detect obstacles, the pre-crash safety system will
be automatically disabled. In this case, the system will not activate even if
there is a collision possibility.
When there is a malfunction in the system
“PCS” warning light will flash and warning messages will be displayed.

Conditions under which the Blind Spot Monitor system may not function cor-
rectly
The Blind Spot Monitor system may not detect vehicles correctly in the fol-
lowing conditions:
• During bad weather such as heavy rain, fog, snow etc.
• When ice or mud etc. is attached to the rear bumper
• When driving on a road surface that is wet due to rain, standing water
etc.
• When there is a significant difference in speed between your vehicle and
the vehicle that enters the detection area
• When a vehicle is in the detection area from a stop and remains in the
detection area as your vehicle accelerates
• When driving up or down consecutive steep inclines, such as hills, a dip
in the road etc.
• When multiple vehicles approach with only a small gap between each
vehicle
• When vehicle lanes are wide, and the vehicle in the next lane is too far
away from your vehicle
• When the vehicle that enters the detection area is traveling at about the
same speed as your vehicle
• When there is a significant difference in height between your vehicle and
the vehicle that enters the detection area
• Directly after the BSM switch is set to on
• When your vehicle is towing a trailer
Instances of the Blind Spot Monitor unnecessarily detecting a vehicle and/
or object may increase under the following conditions:
• When there is only a short distance between your vehicle and a guardrail,
wall etc.
• When there is only a short distance between your vehicle and a following
vehicle
• When vehicle lanes are narrow and a vehicle driving 2 lanes across from
your vehicle enters the detection area
The outside rear view mirror indicators visibility
When under strong sunlight, the outside rear view mirror indicator may be
difficult to see.
When there is a malfunction in the system
If a system malfunction is detected due to any of the following reasons,
warning messages will be displayed: (P. 762, 768)
There is a malfunction with the sensors
The sensors have become dirty

“nanoe” *1 system
The air conditioning system adopts “nanoe” generator. This helps to pro-
vide clean air and moisture by emitting electrically charged ions coated with
water particles through the front center vent on driver’s side
*2.
When the fan is turned on, the “nanoe” system is automatically activated.
When the fan is operated in the following conditions, system performance
will be maximized. If the following conditions are not met, performance
will be limited.
• The , or air outlets are being used.
• The front center vent on driver’s side is open.
When “nanoe” is generated, a small amount of ozone is emitted and may
be faintly smelled in some situations. However, this is approximately the
same as the amount that already exists in nature, such as in forests, and it
has no affect on the human body.
A slight noise may be heard during operation. This is not a malfunction.

*2: According to temperature and humidity conditions, fan speed and direc-
tion of the air flow, the “nanoe” system may not operate at full capac-
ity.

CAUTION
To prevent the windshield from fogging up
Do not use
during cool air operation in extremely humid weather.
The difference between the temperature of the outside air and that of the
windshield can cause the outer surface of the windshield to fog up, block-
ing your vision.
“nanoe” generator
Do not disassemble or repair the generator because it contains high voltage
parts. Contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly
qualified and equipped professional if the generator needs repair.

NOTICE
Cleaning detergents
Do not use the following types of detergent, as they may discolor the vehi-
cle interior or cause streaks or damage to painted surfaces:
• Non-seat portions: Organic substances such as benzene or gasoline,
alkaline or acidic solutions, dye, and bleach
• Seats: Alkaline or acidic solutions, such as thinner, benzene, and alco-
hol
Do not use polish wax or polish cleaner. The instrument panel’s or other
interior part’s painted surface may be damaged.
Preventing damage to leather surfaces
Observe the following precautions to avoid damage to and deterioration of
leather surfaces:
Remove any dust or dirt from leather surfaces immediately.
Do not expose the vehicle to direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
Park the vehicle in the shade, especially during summer.
Do not place items made of vinyl, plastic, or containing wax on the uphol-
stery, as they may stick to the leather surface if the vehicle interior heats
up significantly.
Water on the floor
Do not wash the vehicle floor with water.
Vehicle systems such as the audio system may be damaged if water comes
into contact with electrical components such as the audio system above or
under the floor of the vehicle. Water may also cause the body to rust.
When cleaning the inside of the windshield (vehicles with LKA [Lane-
Keeping Assist])
Be careful not to touch the camera sensor (P. 274).
If the camera is accidentally scratched or hit, LKA may not operate prop-
erly or may cause a malfunction.
Cleaning the inside of the rear window
Do not use glass cleaner to clean the rear window, as this may cause dam-
age to the rear window defogger heater wires or antenna. Use a cloth
dampened with lukewarm water to gently wipe the window clean. Wipe
the window in strokes running parallel to the heater wires or antenna.
Be careful not to scratch or damage the heater wires or antenna.
