When the vehicle-to-vehicle distance mode of the radar cruise
control is on, and the set vehicle speed is approximately 72
km/h (45 mph) or more (the function will not operate when the
radar cruise control is in set speed mode)
When the lane width is between approximately 2.8 and 4.0 m
(9.1 and 13.1 ft.)
When driving on a straight road or through a curve with a
radius of more than approximately 230 m (755 ft.)

Screen description
Vehicle width extension guide line
The line indicates a guide path when the vehicle is being backed
straight up.
The displayed width is wider than the actual vehicle width.
The line aligns with the estimated course lines when the steering wheel
is straight.
Estimated course lines
The lines show an estimated course when the steering wheel is turned.
Distance guide line
The line moves, together with the estimated course lines, in sync with
the steering wheel. The line shows points approximately 0.5 m (1.5 ft.)
(red) and approximately 1 m (3 ft.) (yellow) from the center of the edge
of the bumper.
Distance guide line
The line shows distance behind the vehicle, a point approximately 0.5
m (1.5 ft.) (blue) from the edge of the bumper.

Parking operation
When parking in a space which is in the reverse direction to the
space described in the procedure below, the steering directions
will be reversed.
Shift the shift lever to the R position.
Turn the steering wheel so
that the estimated course
lines are within the parking
space, and back up slowly.

space lines are parallel, straighten the steering wheel and back
up slowly until the vehicle has completely entered the parking
space.
Stop the vehicle in an appropriate place, and finish parking.
Screen description
Vehicle width extension guide lines
These lines indicate a guide path when the vehicle is being
backed straight up. The displayed width is wider than the
actual vehicle width.
Parking assist guide lines
These lines indicate the path of the smallest turn possible
behind the vehicle.
These lines also indicate the approximate position of the steer-
ing wheel when parking.
Distance guide line
This line (red) indicates points approximately 0.5 m (1.5 ft.)
behind the rear bumper of your vehicle.

Lexus parking assist monitor camera
The camera for the parking
assist monitor is located above
the license plate.
Using the camera
If the camera lens becomes dirty, it cannot transmit a clear
image. If water droplets, snow or mud adhere to the lens, rinse
with water and wipe with a soft cloth. If the lens is extremely
dirty, wash it with a mild cleanser and rinse.
Differences between the screen and the actual road
The distance guide lines and the vehicle width extension guide
lines may not actually be parallel with the dividing lines of the
parking space, even when they appear to be so. Be sure to check
visually.
The distances between the vehicle width extension guide lines
and the left and right dividing lines of the parking space may not
be equal, even when they appear to be so. Be sure to check visu-
ally.
The distance guide lines give a distance guide for flat road sur-
faces. In any of the following situations, there is a margin of

CAUTION
In low temperatures, the screen may darken or the image may become
faint. The image could distort when the vehicle is moving, or you may
become unable to see the image on the screen. Be sure to check direct
visually and with mirror all around the vehicle before proceeding.
If the tire sizes are changed, the position of the guide lines displayed on
the screen may change.
The camera uses a special lens. The distances between objects and pedes-
trians that appear in the image displayed on the screen will differ from the
actual distances. (P. 316)
When using the perpendicular parking assist screen
The position of the guide lines displayed on the screen may change in
accordance with the number of passengers, the amount of cargo etc. Be
sure to check behind and all around the vehicle direct visually and with
mirror before proceeding.
Estimated course line display mode: If the steering wheel is straight and
the vehicle width extension guide lines and the estimated course lines are
not in alignment, have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus
dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional.
The vehicle width extension guide lines are wider than the actual width of
the vehicle. When backing up, be sure to check behind and all around the
vehicle direct visually and with mirror before proceeding.
When using the parallel parking assist screen
Do not use the system if the display is incorrect due to an uneven (curvy/
hilly) road or a non-straight road.
Make sure to operate the steering wheel only when the vehicle is stopped.
Be sure to check that there are no obstacles inside the blue outline.
If there are any obstacles inside the blue outline, do not use the parallel
parking assist.
When positioning the blue outline over the parking space, be sure to posi-
tion it so that the extended blue line may not cross the tire of the vehicle
parked in front of the empty space.

Wheels
When replacing wheels, care should be taken to ensure that they are
equivalent to those removed in load capacity, diameter, rim width
and inset

Replacement wheels are available at any authorized Lexus dealer
or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional.

set”.
Lexus does not recommend using the following:
Wheels of different sizes or types
Used wheels
Bent wheels that have been straightened
Use only Lexus wheel nuts and wrenches designed for use with
your aluminum wheels.
When rotating, repairing or changing your tires, check that the
wheel nuts are still tight after driving 1600 km (1000 miles).
Be careful not to damage the aluminum wheels when using tire
chains.
Use only Lexus genuine balance weights or equivalent and a
plastic or rubber hammer when balancing your wheels.
If a wheel is bent, cracked or heavily corroded, it should be
replaced. Otherwise, the tire may separate from the wheel or cause
a loss of handling control.
