■The windshield wiper and washer can be operated when
The engine switch is in “IG-ON” mode.
■Dripping prevention wiper sweep
After washing and wiping operation severa l
times, the wipers operate one more
time after a short delay to prevent dripping.
However, the last sweep will not happen if the vehicle is traveling above 106 mph
(1
70 km/h).
■Effects of vehicle speed on wiper operation
Vehicle speed affects the following even when the wipers are not in “AUTO” mode.
●Intermittent wiper interval (“INT” mode)
●Wiper operation when the washer is bein g used (delay until drip prevention
wiper sweep occurs)
With “LO” selected, wiper operation will be
switched from low speed to intermit-
tent wiper operation only when the vehicle is stationary.
■Rain drop sensor (vehicles equipped with the rain-sensing windshield wipers)
The sensor judges the amount of raindrops.

■If no windshield washer fluid sprays
Check that the washer nozzles are not blocked if there is washer fluid in the wind-
shield washer fluid reservoir.
■In extremely hot or cold weather
The system will turn off if the windshield gets extremely hot (at more than 176°F
[80°C]) or cold (at less than 14°F [-10°C]).
■Customization
Settings (e.g. drip prevention function) can be changed. (P. 5 2 6 )
CAUTION
■Caution regarding the use of windshield wipers in “AUTO” mode
The windshield wipers may operate unexpect edly if the sensor is touched or the
windshield is subject to vibration in “AUTO” mode. Take care that your fingers or
anything else do not become caught in the windshield wipers.
NOTICE
■When the windshield is dry
Do not use the wipers, as they may damage the windshield.
■When there is no washer fluid spray from the nozzle
Damage to the washer fluid pump may be caused if the lever is pulled toward you
and held continually.
■When using an automatic car wash 
(vehicles equipped with the rain-sensing windshield wipers)
Set the wiper switch to “OFF”. 
If the wiper switch is in “AUTO”, the wipers
may operate and the wiper blades may be
damaged.

Headlight cleaner switch

NOTICE
■When the washer fluid tank is empty
Do not use this function when the washer fluid tank is empty. This may cause the
washer fluid pump to overheat.
Washer fluid can be sprayed on the headlights.
Press the switch to clean the
headlights.

Cruise control
Use the cruise control to maintain a set speed without using the accelera-
tor.
■ Set the vehicle speed
Turn the “ON-OFF” button ON.
Push the button once more to
deactivate the cruise control.
Accelerate or decelerate to the
desired speed and press the
lever down to set the cruise
control speed.

■Cruise control can be set when
●The shift lever is in the “D” or “4”, “5”, or “6” range of “S”.
●Vehicle speed is between approximately 25 mph (40 km/h) and 125 mph
(200 km/h).
■Accelerating
The vehicle can be accelerated normally. After acceleration, the set speed
r
esumes.
■Automatic cruise control cancelation
The set speed is automatically canceled in any of the following situations.
●Actual vehicle speed falls more than 10 mph (16 km/h) below the preset vehicle
speed
●Actual vehicle speed is below 25 mph (40 km/h)
●VSC is activated
■If the cruise control indicator light flashes
Turn the “ON-OFF” button off once, and
then reactivate the system. 
If the cruise control speed cannot be set or i
f the cruise control cancels immediately
after being activated, there may be a malfun ction in the cruise control system. Have
the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.
■ Canceling and resuming regular acceleration
Cancel

cancel cruise control.

CAUTION
■To avoid operating the cruise control by mistake
Keep the “ON-OFF” button off when not in use.
■Situations unsuitable for cruise control
Do not use cruise control in any of the following situations.
Doing so may result in control of the vehicle being lost and could cause serious or
fatal accident.
●In heavy traffic
●On roads with sharp bends
●On slippery roads, such as thos e covered with rain, ice or snow
●On steep hills
●On winding roads

Dynamic radar cruise control (if equipped)
Dynamic radar cruise control supplements conventional cruise control
with a vehicle-to-vehicle distance control. In the vehicle-to-vehicle dis
-
tance control mode, the vehicle automa tic
ally accelerates or decelerates
in order to maintain a set following distance from vehicles ahead.
■ Select cruise mode

Cruising in vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode
This mode employs a radar sensor to detect the presence of vehicles
within 400 ft. (120 m) ahead and to judge the distance between your
vehicle and those vehicles.
Note that vehicle-to-vehicle distance will close when traveling on long down -
hill slopes.
Example of constant speed cruising (when there are no vehicles
ahead): When set to 62 mph (100 km/h)
The vehicle travels at the speed set by the driver. The desired vehicle-to-vehi-
cle distance can also be set by oper ating the v
ehicle-to-vehicle distance
switch.
Example of deceleration cruising (wh en the vehicle ahead is driving
slower than the set speed): When fixed speed cruising is set at 6
2 mph
(100 km/h) and the vehicle ahead is driving at 50 mph (80 km/h)
When a vehicle is detected running ahead of you, in the same lane, the sys -
tem automatically decelerates your vehicle. When a greater reduction in
v
ehicle speed is necessary, the system applies the brakes. A warning tone
warns you when the system cannot decelerate sufficiently to prevent your
vehicle from closing on the vehicle ahead.
