Before driving
CAUTION
■When replacing the fuel tank cap
Do not use anything but a genuine Lexus fuel tank cap designed for your vehicle.
Failure to do so may cause a fire or other incident which may result in death or seri-
ous injury.
NOTICE
■Refueling
●Finish refueling within 30 minutes. If more than 30 minutes passes, the internal
valve closes. In this condition, fuel may overflow during the refueling process.
Press the fuel filler d oor opener switch again.
●Do not spill fuel during refueling. 
Failing to do so may damage the vehicle, such as causing the exhaust systems to
operate abnormally or damaging fuel system components or the vehicle's
painted surface.

Hybrid vehicle immobilizer system

●If the grip portion of the key is in contact with a metallic object.
●If the key is in close proximity to or touching a key to the security system (key

Alarm
Deactivating or stopping the alarm
Do one of the following:
●Unlock the doors or trunk using the smar
t access system with push-
button start or the wireless remote control.
● St
art the hybrid system. (The alarm wi ll be deactivated or stopped after
a few seconds.)
■Items to check before locking the vehicle
To prevent unintended triggering of the alar m
, check that there is no one in the vehi-
cle, and that all windows and moon roof ar
e closed before locking the vehicle.
The alarm warns of forcible entry using the horn and lights.
To arm the alarm, exit the vehi-
cle, make sure that the doors,
trunk and hood ar
e closed, and
lock all the doors. 
The system will operate auto -
matically once the indicator
changes fr
om lit to flashing.

■When the 12 volt battery is disconnected
Be sure to cancel the alarm system. 
If the 12 volt battery is discharged before canceling the alarm, the system may be
triggered when the battery is reconnected.
■Pa n i c m o d e
When is pushed for longer than about
one second, the headlights/tail lights/emer-
gency flashers will flash, the front and rear
interior lights will come on, and an alarm will
sound for about 60 seconds to deter any
person from trying to break into or damage
your vehicle.
To stop the alarm, push any button on the
wireless remote control.

CAUTION
■Caution while driving
●Do not adjust the position of the driver’s seat.
Doing so could cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
●Do not place a cushion between the driver or passenger and the seatback. 
A cushion may prevent correct posture from being achieved, and reduce the
effectiveness of the seat belt and head re straint, increasing the risk of death or
serious injury to the driver or passenger.
●Do not place anything under the front seats.
Objects placed under the front seats may become jammed in the seat tracks and
stop the seat from locking in place. This may lead to an accident. The adjustment
mechanism may also be damaged.
■Adjusting the seat position
●Do not recline the seat more than necessary when the vehicle is in motion, to
reduce the risk of slid ing under the lap belt. 
If the seat is too reclined during an accident, the lap belt may slide past the hips
and apply restraint forces directly to th e abdomen or your neck may contact the
shoulder belt, increasing the ri sk of death or serious injury.
●Take care when adjusting the seat position to ensure that other passengers are
not injured by the moving seat.
●Do not put your hands under the seat or near the moving parts to avoid injury. 
Fingers or hands may become jammed in the seat mechanism.

SRS airbags
The SRS airbags inflate when the vehicle is subjected to certain types of
severe impacts that may cause signific ant injury to the occupants. They
work together with the seat belts to he lp reduce the risk of death or serious
injury.
