Installation of a mobile two-way radio system
As the installation of a mobile two-way radio system in your vehicle could affect
electronic systems such as the hybrid system, multiport fuel injection system/
sequential multiport fuel injection system, dynamic radar cruise control system,
cruise control system, anti-lock brake system, vehicle dynamics integrated manage-
ment, SRS airbag system and seat belt pretensioner system, be sure to check with
your Lexus dealer for precautionary measures or special instructions regarding
installation.
High voltage parts and cables on the hybrid vehicles emit approximately the same
amount of electromagnetic waves as the conventional gasoline powered vehicles or
home electronic appliances despite of their electromagnetic shielding.
Unwanted noise may occur in the reception of the mobile two-way radio.
Scrapping of your Lexus
The SRS airbag and seat belt pretensioner devices in your Lexus contain explosive
chemicals. If the vehicle is scrapped with the airbags and seat belt pretensioners left
as they are, this may cause an accident such as fire. Be sure to have the systems of
the SRS airbag and seat belt pretensioner removed and disposed of by a qualified
service shop or by your Lexus dealer before you scrap your vehicle.
Perchlorate Material
Special handling may apply, See www.dtsc.ca.gov/hazardouswaste/perchlorate.
Your vehicle has components that may contain perchlorate. These components may
include airbag, seat belt pretensioners, and wireless remote control batteries.

CAUTION
■Reclining adjustment
Do not recline the seat more than necessary when the vehicle is in motion, to
reduce the risk of sliding under the lap belt.
If the seat is too reclined, during an accident the lap belt may slide past the hips and
apply restraint forces directly to the abdomen or your neck may contact the shoul-
der belt, increasing the risk of death or serious injury.
Adjustments should not be made while driving as the seat may unexpectedly move
and cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

Seat belt comfort guide (outboard rear seats)If the shoulder belt fits close to a
person’s neck, slide the seat belt
comfort guide forward.
Seat belt pretensioners (front and outboard rear seats)The pretensioner helps the seat
belt to quickly restrain the occu-
pant by retracting the seat belt
when the vehicle is subjected to
certain types of severe frontal colli-
sion.
The pretensioner may not activate
in the event of a minor frontal
impact, a side impact or a rear
impact.
■Adjusting the height of the belt (front seats)
