Garage door opener
The garage door opener (HomeLink® Universal Transceiver) is manufactured
under license from HomeLink®.
Programming HomeLink® (for U.S. owners)
The HomeLink
® compatible transceiver in your vehicle has 3 buttons
which can be programmed to operate 3 different devices. Refer to the
programming method below appropriate for the device.
Indicator light
Buttons
The garage door opener can be programmed to operate garage doors,
gates, entry doors, door locks, home lighting systems, and security systems,
and other devices.

Programming an entry gate (for U.S. owners)/Programming a
device in the Canadian market
Place the remote control transmit ter 1 in. (25 mm) away from the
HomeLink
® buttons.
Keep the HomeLink® indicator light in view while programming.
Press and hold the selected HomeLink® button.
Repeatedly press and release (cycle) the remote control trans-
mitter for 2 seconds each until step 4 is completed.
When the HomeLink
® indicator light starts to flash rapidly,
release the buttons.
Test the HomeLink
® operation by pressing the newly pro-
grammed button. Check to see if the gate/device operates cor-
rectly.
Repeat the steps above to program another device for each of
the remaining HomeLink
® buttons.
■ Programming other devices
To program other devices such as home security systems, home door
locks or lighting, contact your Lexus dealer for assistance.
■ Reprogramming a button
The individual HomeLink
® buttons cannot be erased but can be
reprogrammed. To reprogram a button, follow the “Reprogramming a
HomeLink
® button” instructions.

Deviation calibration
Stop the vehicle in a place where it is safe to drive in a circle.
Press and hold “AUTO”.
A number (1 to 15) appears on the
compass display.
Referring to the map above, press “AUTO” to select the number
of the zone you are in.
If the direction is displayed several seconds after adjustment, the cali-
bration is complete.
■ Circling calibration
When “C” appears on the display,
drive the vehicle at 5 mph (8 km/h)
or less in a circle until a direction is
displayed.
If there is not enough space to
drive in a circle, drive around the
block until the direction is dis-
played.

Hood
CAUTION
■Pre-driving check
Check that the hood is fully closed and locked.
If the hood is not locked properly, it may open while the vehicle is in motion and
cause an accident, which may result in death or serious injury.
Release the lock from the inside of the vehicle to open the hood.
Pull the hood lock release lever.
The hood will pop up slightly.
Move the auxiliary catch lever
to side direction and lift the
hood.

Adding engine oil
If the oil level is below or near the
low level mark, add engine oil of
the same type as already in the
engine.
Make sure to check the oil type and prepare the items needed before
adding oil.
Remove the oil filler cap by turning it counterclockwise.
Add engine oil slowly, checking the dipstick.
Install the oil filler cap by turning it clockwise.

Checking the fluid level
Make sure to check the fluid type and prepare the necessary items.
Clean all dirt off the reservoir.
Remove the cap by turning it counterclockwise.
Wipe the dipstick clean.
Reinstall the cap and remove it again.
Check the fluid level.

CAUTION
■When checking the reservoir
Take care as the reservoir may be hot.
NOTICE
■When adding fluid
Avoid overfilling, or the power steering may be damaged.

age.

■Before recharging
When recharging, the battery produces hydrogen gas which is flammable and
explosive. Therefore, observe the following before recharging:
●If recharging with the battery installed on the vehicle, be sure to disconnect the
ground cable.
●Make sure the power switch on the charger is off when connecting and discon-
necting the charger cables to the battery.
■After recharging/reconnecting the battery
●Unlocking the doors using the smart key system may not be possible immedi-
ately after reconnecting the battery. If this happens, use the wireless remote
control or the mechanical key to lock/unlock the doors.
●Start the engine with the “ENGINE START STOP” switch in ACCESSORY
mode. The engine may not start with the “ENGINE START STOP” switch
turned OFF. However, the engine will operate normally from the second
attempt.
●The “ENGINE START STOP” switch mode is recorded by the vehicle. If the bat-
tery is reconnected, the vehicle will return the “ENGINE START STOP” switch
mode to the status it was in before the battery was disconnected. Make sure to
turn off the engine before disconnect the battery. Take extra care when con-
necting the battery if the “ENGINE START STOP” switch mode prior to dis-
charge is unknown.
If the system will not start even after multiple attempts, contact your Lexus dealer.
