Fuel Tank Cap
■Before refueling the vehicle
Turn the “ENGINE START STOP” switch off and ensure that all the doors and windows are
closed.
■Opening the fuel tank cap
Press the opener to open the fuel filler
door.
Turn the fuel tank cap slowly to open.
Hang the fuel tank cap on the back of the
fuel filler door.

If the electronic key does not operate properly
■Unlocking and locking the doors
Use the mechanical key ( P.10) in order to
perform the following operations (driver’s
door only):
Locks all the doors
Closes the windows and moon roof (turn
and hold)*
Unlocks the door
Turning the key rearward unlocks the
driver’s door. Turning the key once again
unlocks the other doors.
Opens the windows and moon roof (turn
and hold)*
*: This setting must be customized at your Lexus dealer.
■Starting the engine
Ensure that the shift lever is in P and
depress the brake pedal.
Touch the Lexus emblem side of the
electronic key to the “ENGINE START
STOP” switch.
If any of the doors is opened or
closed while the key is being touched
to the switch, an alarm will sound to
indicate that the start function cannot
detect the electronic key.
Press the “ENGINE START STOP”
switch within 10 se conds of the buzzer
sounding, keeping the brake pedal
depressed.
In the event that the “ENGINE START STOP” switch still cannot be operated, contact your
Lexus dealer.
If the electronic key battery becomes depleted , replace it with a new battery. For instruc-
tions on replacing the battery, refer to the Ow ner’s Manual. If you need further assistance,
contact your Lexus dealer.

If the engine does not start
Make sure that the correct operating procedures have been followed.Make sure that the brake pedal is firmly
depressed when attempting to start the
engine. (P.1 4 )
Make sure that the steering lock is released.
To release the steering lock, gently turn the
wheel left or right while pressing the
“ENGINE START STOP” switch. ( P.1 3 )
