When trouble arises
IS350/300/200t_U (OM53D18U)
Indicates a malfunction in the tire pressure warning sys-
tem
 Stop the vehicle in a safe place and turn the engine
switch off then on again.
If the tire pressure warning indicator flashes for 1
minute then illuminates, there is a malfunction in the
system. Have the vehicle inspected at your Lexus
dealer.
Indicates that the tire position information cannot be rec-
ognized
Drive for a short while an d check if the display
updates.
If the radio wave conditions improve, the display
may return to normal. If th e tire pressure is still not
displayed after driving for several minutes, stop the
vehicle in a safe place, turn the engine switch off
then on again, and start driving.
If the tire pressure is still not displayed even after
repeating this process several times, have the vehi-
cle inspected at your Lexus dealer.
Indicates that the wash er fluid level is low
 Add washer fluid.
Indicates that remaining fuel is approximately 2.6 gal.
(10 L, 2.2 Imp. gal.) or less
 Refuel the vehicle.
Indicates that the TRAC (Tra ction Control) system has
been deactivated

(If equipped)
Indicates that the engine oil is scheduled to be changed.
(The indicator will not work properly unless the message
has been reset.)
 Check the engine oil, and change if necessary.
After changing the engine oil, the message should
be reset.

Indicates that the engine oil should be changed. (After
the engine oil is changed and the message has been
reset.)
Check and change the engine oil, and oil filter by
your Lexus dealer. After changing the engine oil, the
message should be reset. ( P. 4 1 3 )
(U.S.A. only)
Indicates that all maintenance according to the driven
distance on the maintenance schedule
* should be per-
formed soon.
 Comes on approximately 4500 miles (7200 km)
after the message has been reset.
If necessary, perform maintenance. Please reset
the message after the maintenance is performed.

(U.S.A. only)
Indicates that all maintenance is required to correspond
to the driven distance on the maintenance schedule*.
 Comes on approximately 5000 miles (8000 km)
after the message has been reset. (The indicator will
not work properly unless the message has been
reset.)
Perform the necessary maintenance. Please reset
the message after the maintenance is performed.

Indicates that the Automatic High Beam switch is
pressed while the headlights are in low beam.
 Turn the high beam on and press the Automatic
High Beam switch again.

Indicates that, since the VSC (Vehicle Stability Control)
system was turned off, the pre-collision brake system
operation is stopped
 Turn the VSC on. ( P. 2 5 1 )

Indicates that the PCS (Pre-Collision System) is not cur-
rently functional because the grille cover or the sensor is
dirty
 Check the grille cover and the sensor and clean
them if they are dirty.

The warning message illustrations used are intended as examples, and may differ from
the image that is actua lly displayed on the multi-information display.
■Warning message in radar cruise mode (if equipped)
In the following situations, the warning messag e may not be displayed even if vehicle-to-
vehicle distance decreases:
●When the speed of the preceding vehicle matches or exceeds your vehicle speed
●When the preceding vehicle is traveling at an extremely slow speed
●Immediately after the cruise control speed was set
●When depressing the accelerator pedal
■The LDA (Lane Departure Alert) lane departure warning function (if equipped)
In the following situations, the warning messag e will not be displayed even if a lane line is
crossed.
●When the vehicle speed deviates from the operating range of the LDA system func-
tions
●When the lane lines cannot be recognized
■Resetting the message indicating maintenance is required (U.S.A. only)
Make sure to reset the oil change system. ( P. 4 1 3 )

Indicates that operation of large electricity consuming
systems such as the air conditioning system are sus-
pended
 Stop using unnecessary electric components to
reduce electricity consumption. Wait a while until
the electric power supply is restored.

Indicates that the LDA (Lane Departure Alert) system
cannot be used because the vehicle speed is lower than
approximately 32 mph (50 km/h)
Drive the vehicle at 32 mph (50 km/h) or higher.

Raise the vehicle until the tire is
slightly raised off the ground.
Remove all the wheel nuts and the
tire.
When resting the tire on the ground,
place the tire so that the wheel design
faces up to avoid scratching the wheel
surface.

CAUTION
■Replacing a flat tire
●Do not touch the disc wheels or the area around the brakes immediately after the
vehicle has been driven.
After the vehicle has been driven the disc wheels and the area around the brakes will
be extremely hot. Touching these areas with hands, feet or other body parts while
changing a tire, etc. may result in burns.
●Failure to follow these precautions could cause the wheel nuts to loosen and the tire
to fall off, resulting in death or serious injury.
• Never use oil or grease on the wheel bolts or wheel nuts. Oil and grease may cause the wheel nuts to be excessively tightened, leading to
bolt or disc wheel damage. In addition, the oil or grease can cause the wheel nuts
to loosen and the wheel may fall off, caus ing a serious accident. Remove any oil or
grease from the wheel bolts or wheel nuts.
• Have the wheel nuts tightened with a torque wrench to 76 ft•lbf (103 N•m,
10.5 kgf•m) as soon as possible after changing wheels.
• Do not attach a heavily damaged wheel ornament, as it may fly off the wheel while
the vehicle is moving.
• When installing a tire, only use wheel nuts that have been specifically designed for
that wheel.
• If there are any cracks or deformations in the bolt screws, nut threads or bolt holes
of the wheel, have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.

■Engine oil selection (IS350/IS300)
“Toyota Genuine Motor Oil” is used in your Lexus vehicle. Use Lexus
approved “Toyota Genuine Motor Oil” or equivalent to satisfy the following
grade and viscosity.
Oil grade: ILSAC GF-5 multigrade engine oil
Recommended viscosity: SAE 0W-20
SAE 0W-20 is the best choice for
good fuel economy and good start-
ing in cold weather.
If SAE 0W-20 is not available, SAE
5W-20 oil may be used. However, it
must be replaced with SAE 0W-20
at the next oil change.
Oil viscosity (0W-20 is explained here as an example): • The 0W in 0W-20 indicates the characteristic of the oil which allows cold startability. Oils with a lower value before the W allow for easier starting of
the engine in cold weather.
• The 20 in 0W-20 indicates the viscos ity characteristic of the oil when the
oil is at high temperature. An oil with a higher viscosity (one with a higher
value) may be better suited if the vehicle is operated at high speeds, or
under extreme load conditions.
