ODOMETER AND TRIP METER
SV13015
This meter displays the odometer and two trip meters. To
change the mode indication, push the ºODO/TRIPº knob
briefly. Each time you push the knob, the mode changes
in order from the odometer to trip meter A to trip meter B,
then back to the odometer, etc.
The odometer records the total distance the vehicle has
been driven. The twin trip meter records two different
distances independently.
For example, you can use one meter to calculate the fuel
economy and the other to measure the distance on each trip.
To set A trip meter to zero, display the A meter reading,
push the knob and hold it. The same applies for the B trip
meter.
The data of trip meters will be cancelled if the electrical power
source is disconnected.

The digital clock indicates the time with the ignition key at
the ºACCº or ºONº position. To reset the hour, press the
ºHº button. To reset the minutes, press the ºMº button.
To adjust the time to the nearest hour, press the º:00º
button.
For example, if the º:00º button is pressed when the time is
between 9:30 - 9:59 or between 10:01 - 10:29, the time will
change to 10:00.
If the electrical power source has been disconnected from the
clock, the time display will automatically be set to 1:00 (one
o'clock).
When the headlight switch is in the first or second click stop,
you can also adjust the brightness of the display using the
instrument panel light control dial.

This display shows the outside temperature when the
ignition switch is on.

INTERIOR EQUIPMENT
64The displayed temperature ranges from -30C (-22F) up to
50 C (122 F). The display flashes for 10 seconds when the
outside temperature goes down below 3 C (37F) or less and
informs you that the outside temperature is low. The warning
is repeated whenever the temperature rises to at least +5 C
(+41 F) and then sinks again to +3C (37F). If the
temperature does not appear on the display or it shows º- -º,
take your vehicle to your Lexus dealer.
CAUTION
The outside air temperature indicator is designed to
inform you when the air temperature is near freezing.
This indicator does not detect the presence of ice on the
road. Drivers must exercise great caution in driving on
roads which are wet, slippery or icy.

The compass indicates the direction in which the vehicle
is heading. The illustration shown above indicates the
vehicle is heading north.Displays

Pushing the ºAUTOº button for longer than 3 seconds
turns on or off the compass display.
The compass may not show the correct direction in the
following conditions:
The vehicle is stopped immediately after turning.
The compass does not adjust while the vehicle is stopped.
 The ignition switch is turned off immediately after turning.
 The vehicle is on an inclined surface.
 The vehicle is in a place where the earth's magnetic field is
subject to interference by artificial magnetic fields
(underground parking, under a steel tower, between
buildings, roof parking, near a crossing, near a large
vehicle, etc.).
 The vehicle is magnetized. (There is an magnet or a metal
object on or near the inside rear view mirror.)
 The battery has been disconnected.
 Any door is open.
The compass works to calibrate the direction automatically
while the vehicle is in motion, if deviation is small.
For obtaining additional precision or for complete calibrating,
see ºCALIBRATING THE COMPASSº below.

Do not put magnets or a metal object near the inside rearview mirror. Doing this may cause malfunction of thecompass sensor.
CALIBRATING THE COMPASS (deviation calibration)
The direction display on the compass deviates from the true
direction determined by the earth's magnetic field. The
amount of deviation varies according to the geographic
position of the vehicle.
To adjust for this deviation, stop the vehicle and push the
button for longer than about 6 seconds until the number (1-15)
appears on the display. Then push the button again, referring
to the following map to select the number of the zone where the
vehicle is.

CAUTION
Do not adjust the display while the vehicle is moving.
Be sure to adjust the display only when the vehicle is
stopped.
CALIBRATING THE COMPASS (circling calibration)
SV16139
ºCº appears on the display in case the circling calibration is
required due to a drastic change in the magnetic field. To
rectify this, follow the calibration procedure below.

Drive the vehicle slowly (at 8 km/h (5 mph) or lower) in a circle
until the direction is displayed. If there is not enough space to
drive in a circle, drive around the block until the direction is
displayed.
After driving in 1 to 3 circles in the above method, calibration
is complete with the direction shown on the display.
If calibration cannot be performed because of the magnetized
vehicle, etc., take your vehicle to Lexus dealer.
 Do not perform circling calibration of the compass in a place
where the earth's magnetic field is subject to interference by
artificial magnetic fields (underground parking, under a
steel tower, between buildings, roof parking, near a crossing, near a large vehicle, etc.).
 During calibration, do not operate electric systems (moon
roof, power windows, etc.) as they may interfere with the calibration.

CAUTION
When doing the circling calibration, be sure to secure
a wide space, and watch out for people and vehicles
in the neighborhood. Do not violate any local traffic
rules while performing circling calibration.
 Do not adjust the display while the vehicle is moving.
Be sure to adjust the display only when the vehicle is
stopped.

AIR CONDITIONING

AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONING CONTROLS

You can adjust the brightness of the display. See
ºInstrument panel light controlº on page 58 for details.
The automatic air conditioning automatically maintains
the set temperature.
In the automatic operation mode, the air conditioning selects
the most suitable fan speed, air flow, air intake and on-off of
the air conditioning according to the temperature.
The ignition key must be in the ºONº position.
NOTICE
To prevent the battery from being discharged, do not leave the air conditioning on longer than necessarywhen the engine is not running.
