Do not attach a microphone or any other device or
object around the area where the curtain shield air-
bag activates such as on the windshield glass, side
door glass, front and side pillars, roof side rail and
assist grips. When the curtain shield airbag inflates,
the microphone or other device or object will be
thrown away with great force or the curtain shield
airbag may not activate correctly, resulting in death
or serious injury.
Do not use seat accessories which cover the parts
where the side air bags inflate. Such accessories may
prevent the side airbags from activating correctly,
causing death or serious injury.
 Do not modify or replace the seats or upholstery of
the seats with side airbags. Such changes may
prevent the side airbag system from activating
correctly, disable the system or cause the side
airbags to inflate accidentally, resulting in death or
serious injury.
 Do not disassemble or repair the front and side pillars
and roof side rails containing the curtain shield
airbags. Such changes may disable the system or
cause the curtain shield airbags to inflate
accidentally, resulting in death or serious injury.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death
or serious injury. Consult your Lexus dealer about any
repair and modification.

(h) If the player malfunctions
If the player or another unit equipped with the player
malfunctions, your audio system will display one of the four
following error messages.
If ªERR 1º appears on the display:
It indicates that the CD
is dirty, damaged, or it was inserted up±side down. Clean the
CD or insert it correctly.
If ªERR 3º or ªERR 4º appears on the display: It indicates
there is a trouble inside the system. Eject the CD.
If the malfunction is not rectified: Take your vehicle to your
Lexus dealer.
Audio system operating hints
NOTICE
To ensure correct audio system operations:
Be careful not to spill beverages over the audio system.
Do not put anything other than a cassette tape or CDinto the cassette tape slot or CD slot.
The use of a cellular phone inside or near the vehiclemay cause a noise from the speakers of the audio
system which you are listening to. However, thisdoes not indicate a malfunction.
Radio reception
Usually, the problem with radio reception does not mean there
is a problem with your radio ± it is just the normal result of
conditions outside the vehicle.
For example, nearby buildings and terrain can interfere with
FM reception. Power lines or telephone wires can interfere with
AM signals. And of course, radio signals have a limited range.
The farther you are from a station, the weaker its signal will be.
In addition, reception conditions change constantly as your
vehicle moves.
Here are some common reception problems that probably do
not indicate a problem with your radio:
