Transporting your Lexus on a flat bed truck
If your Lexus is transported by a
flat bed, it should be tied down at
locations A and B as shown.
If you use chains or cables to tie

wn your vehicle, the angles
shaded black must be at 45 .

wns or vehicle damage
may occur.
NOTICE
■To prevent damaging the vehicle
●Do not tow with the key removed or in the LOCK position. The steering lock
mechanism is not strong enough to hold the front wheels straight.
●When raising the vehicle, ensure adequate ground clearance for towing at the
opposite end of the raised vehicle. Wi thout adequate clearance, the vehicle
could be damaged while being towed.
■To prevent causing serious damage to the transmission
Never tow a vehicle from the rear with four wheels on the ground. 
This may cause serious dama g
e to the transmission.

Fuel pump shut off system
NOTICE
■Before starting the engine
Inspect the ground under the vehicle.
If you find that fuel has leaked on to the ground, the fuel system has been damaged
and it is in
need of repair. Do not restart the engine.
The fuel pump shut off system stops suppl ying fuel to the engine to minimize
the risk of fuel leakage when the en gine stalls or an airbag inflates.
■To restart the engine after the system activates
Turn the ignition switch to ACC or LOCK once.
Restart it.

immediately.
Failing to investigate the cause of the following warnings may lead to a
system operating abnormally and possibly cause an accident. 

If the transmission selector lever cannot be shifted from P
If the transmission selector lever cannot be shifted with your foot on the
brake, there may be a problem with the shift lock system (a system to prevent
accidental operation of the selector lever). Have the vehicle inspected by
your Lexus dealer immediately.

The following steps may be used as an
emergency measure to ensure the
selector lever can be shifted.
Set the parking brake.
Turn the ignition switch to ACC.
Depress the brake pedal.
