■After a fuse is replaced
●If the lights do not turn on even after the fuse has been replaced, a bulb may need
replacement. ( P. 541)
●If the replaced fuse blows again, have the vehicle inspected by any authorized
Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional.
■If there is an overload in a circuit
The fuses are designed to blow, protect ing the wiring harness from damage.
CAUTION
■To prevent system breakdowns and vehicle fire
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may cause damage to the vehicle, and possibly a fire or injury.
●Never use a fuse of a higher amperage rating than that indicated, or use any
other object in place of a fuse.
●Always use a genuine Lexus fuse or equivalent.
Never replace a fuse with a wire, even as a temporary fix.
●Do not modify the fuses or fuse boxes.
■Fuse box near the power control unit
Never check or replace the fuses as there are high voltage parts and wiring near
the fuse box.
Doing so may cause electric shock, resulting in death or serious injury.
NOTICE
■Before replacing fuses
Have the cause of electrical overload determined and repaired by any authorized
Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional as
soon as possible.

Check the wattage of the light bulb to be replaced. (P. 631)
Rear fog lights
Light bulbs
You may replace the following bulbs by yourself. The difficulty level of
replacement varies depending on the bulb. As there is a danger that
components may be damaged, we recommend that replacement is
carried out by any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly
qualified and equipped professional.

■Rear fog lights
Open the trunk lid and remove
the cover.
Turn the bulb base counter-
clockwise.
Remove the light bulb.
When installing, reverse the steps listed.

■Replacing the following bulbs
If any of the lights listed below has burnt out, have it replaced by any
authorized Lexus dealer or repair er, or another duly qualified and
equipped professional.
●Headlight low beams
●Headlight low/high beams
●Headlight high beams (vehicles without near-infrared ray transmit-
ters)
●Front position lights and daytime running lights
●Front turn signal lights
●Front fog lights
●Side turn signal lights
●Outer foot lights
●Tail lights
●Stop lights
●Back-up lights
●Rear turn signal lights
●High mounted stoplight
●License plate lights
■LED Lights
The lights other than the rear fog lights each consist of a number of LEDs. If any of
the LEDs burn out, take your vehicle to any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or
another duly qualified and equipped professional to have the light replaced.
■Condensation build-up on the inside of the lens
Temporary condensation build-up on the inside of the headlight lens does not indi-
cate a malfunction. Contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly
qualified and equipped professional for more information in the following situations:
●Large drops of water have built up on the inside of the lens.
●Water has built up inside the headlight.

CAUTION
■Replacing light bulbs
●Turn off the lights. Do not attempt to replace the bulb immediately after turning
off the lights.
The bulbs become very hot and may cause burns.
●Do not touch the glass portion of the light bulb with bare hands. When it is
unavoidable to hold the glass portion, use and hold with a clean dry cloth to avoid
getting moisture and oils on the bulb.
Also, if the bulb is scratched or dropped, it may blow out or crack.
●Fully install light bulbs and any parts used to secure them. Failure to do so may
result in heat damage, fire, or water entering the headlight unit. This may damage
the headlights or cause condensation to build up on the lens.
■To prevent damage or fire
●Make sure bulbs are fully seated and locked.
●Check the wattage of the bulb before installing to prevent heat damage.

The following warning indicates a possible problem in the brake system.
Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place and contact any authorized
Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped profes-
sional.
If a warning light turns on or a warning buzzer
sounds
Calmly perform the following actions if any of the warning lights comes
on or flashes. If a light comes on or flashes, but then goes off, this does
not necessarily indicate a malfunction in the system. However, if this
continues to occur, have the vehicl e inspected by any authorized Lexus
dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional.
Stop the vehicle immediately. Cont inuing to drive the vehicle may
be dangerous.

The following warning indicates the possibility of damage to the vehicle
that may lead to an accident. Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place
and contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qual-
ified and equipped professional.
Failure to investigate the cause of the following warnings may lead to the
system operating abnormally and possibly cause an accident. Have the
vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another
duly qualified and equipped professional immediately.
Stop the vehicle immediately.

• The emission control system (on some models);

• The seat belt pretensioner system; or
• The active head restraints system (if equipped)
ABS warning light
Indicates a malfunction in:
•The ABS; or
• The brake assist system

Electric power steering system warning light (warning buzzer)
Indicates a malfunction in the EPS (Electric Power Steering)
system
(Flashes)
(If equipped)
Pre-crash safety system warning light
Indicates a malfunction in the pre-crash safety system
The warning light will operate as follows, even when the system
is not malfunctioning:
• The light will flash quickly when the system is operating.
( P. 346)
• The light will turn on when the pre-crash braking is disabled.
( P. 341, 348)
• The light will turn on when the system cannot temporarily be
used.
Slip indicator
Indicates a malfunction in:
•The VSC system;
•The TRC system;
•The ABS; or
• The hill-start assist control system
The light will flash when the VS C, the TRC, the ABS or the hill-
start assist control system is operating. ( P. 340)

Brake hold operated indicator
Indicates a malfunction in the brake hold system

Parking brake indicator
Indicates a malfunction in the electric parking brake

After taking the specified steps to correct the suspected problem, check
that the warning light goes off.
