The following warning indicates a possible problem in the brake system.
Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place and contact any authorized
Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped profes-
sional.
If a warning light turns on or a warning buzzer
sounds
Calmly perform the following actions if any of the warning lights comes
on or flashes. If a light comes on or flashes, but then goes off, this does
not necessarily indicate a malfunction in the system. However, if this
continues to occur, have the vehicl e inspected by any authorized Lexus
dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional.
Stop the vehicle immediately. Cont inuing to drive the vehicle may
be dangerous.

The following warning indicates the possibility of damage to the vehicle
that may lead to an accident. Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place
and contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qual-
ified and equipped professional.
Failure to investigate the cause of the following warnings may lead to the
system operating abnormally and possibly cause an accident. Have the
vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another
duly qualified and equipped professional immediately.
Stop the vehicle immediately.

Electric power steering system warning light (warning buzzer)
Indicates a malfunction in the EPS (Electric Power Steering)
system
(Flashes)
(If equipped)
Pre-crash safety system warning light
Indicates a malfunction in the pre-crash safety system
The warning light will operate as follows, even when the system
is not malfunctioning:
• The light will flash quickly when the system is operating.
( P. 346)
• The light will turn on when the pre-crash braking is disabled.
( P. 341, 348)
• The light will turn on when the system cannot temporarily be
used.
Slip indicator
Indicates a malfunction in:
•The VSC system;
•The TRC system;
•The ABS; or
• The hill-start assist control system
The light will flash when the VS C, the TRC, the ABS or the hill-
start assist control system is operating. ( P. 340)

CAUTION
■If both the ABS and the brake system warning lights remain on
Stop your vehicle in a safe place immediately and contact any authorized Lexus
dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional. The vehicle
will become extremely unstable during braking, and the ABS system may fail,
which could cause an accident resulting in death or serious injury.
■When the electric power steering system warning light comes on
The steering wheel may become extremely heavy.
If the steering wheel becomes heavier than usual when operating, hold firmly and
operate using more force than usual.
■If the tire pressure warning light comes on
Be sure to observe the following precautions. Failure to do so could cause a loss of
vehicle control and result in death or serious injury.
●As the tire inflation pressure may be low when this warning light is illuminated,
stop your vehicle in a safe place as soon as possible and adjust the tire inflation
pressure immediately.
●If the tire pressure warning light comes on even after tire inflation pressure adjust-
ment, it is probable that you have a flat tire. Check the tires. If a tire is flat, change
it with the spare tire and have the flat tire repaired by the nearest any authorized
Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional.
●Avoid abrupt maneuvering and braking. If the vehicle tires deteriorate, you could
lose control of the steering wheel or the brakes.
■If a blowout or sudden air leakage should occur
The tire pressure warning system may not activate immediately.
NOTICE
■To ensure the tire pressure warning system operates properly
Do not install tires with different specifications or makers, as the tire pressure warn-
ing system may not operate properly.

■Warning message in radar cruise mode (if equipped)
In the following cases, the warning message may not be displayed even if vehicle-to-
vehicle distance decreases:
●When your vehicle and the vehicle ahead are traveling at the same speed or the
vehicle ahead is traveling more quickly than your vehicle
●When the vehicle ahead is traveling at a very low speed
●Immediately after cruise control speed is set
●At the instant the accelerator pedal is depressed
■The LKA (Lane-Keeping Assist) lane de parture warning function (if equipped)
In the following cases, the warning message will not be displayed even if a lane line is
crossed.
●When the vehicle speed deviates from the operating range of the LKA system
functions
●When the lane lines cannot be recognized
●When the steering wheel is turned as far as necessary to cause the vehicle to
change lanes
■System warning lights
The master warning light does not come on or flash in the following cases. Instead, a
separate system warning light will come on or flash along with the message shown
on the multi-information display.
●Malfunction of the brake system
The brake system warning light (red indicator) comes on. ( P. 555)
●Malfunction of the regenerative brake system, electronically controlled brake sys-
tem or electric parking brake
The brake system warning light (yellow indicator) comes on. ( P. 557)
●Malfunction of the ABS
The ABS warning light comes on. ( P. 556)
●Malfunction of the charging system
The charging system warning light comes on. ( P. 556)
●Indicates that a door or the trunk is not fully closed
The open door warning light comes on. ( P. 558)
●High engine coolant temperature
The needle of the engine coolant temperature gauge enters the red zone.
( P. 611)

One of the following may be the cause of the problem:
●One or both of the 12-volt battery terminals may be disconnected.
●The 12-volt battery may be discharged. (P. 607)
Contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and
equipped professional if the problem cannot be repaired, or if repair procedures
are unknown.
When the hybrid system does not start, the following steps can be used as
an interim measure to start the hybrid system if the power switch is func-
tioning normally:
Turn the power switch to ON mode ( P. 248) and check that the
parking brake is set.
Shift the shift lever to P.
Turn the power switch to ACCESSORY mode.
Press and hold the power switch for about 15 seconds while depressing
the brake pedal firmly.
Even if the hybrid system can be star ted using the above steps, the system
may be malfunctioning. Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized
Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped profes-
sional.
The interior lights and headlights do not turn on, or the horn does
not sound.
