Before driving
LX570_OM_OM60L96U_(U) Locking the driver’s door from the outside without a key
Move the inside lock button to the lock position.
Close the door.
The door cannot be locked if th e “ENGINE START STOP” switch is in
ACCESSORY or IGNITION ON mode , or the electronic key is left
inside the vehicle. Depending on the position of the electronic key, the key may not be
detected correctly and the door may be locked.
Rear door child-protector lock
The door cannot be opened from
inside the vehicle when the locks
are set.
Unlock
Lock These locks can be set to prevent
children from opening the rear
doors. Push down on each rear
door switch to lock both rear

The following functions can be set or canceled: For instructions on custom izing, refer to P. 912
Function Operation
Shift position linked door
locking function Shifting the shift lever out of “P” locks all doors.
Shift position linked door
unlocking function Shifting the shift lever to “P” unlocks all doors.
Speed linked door lock-
ing function All doors are locked when the vehicle speed is
approximately 12 mph (20 km/h) or higher.
Driver’s door linked door
unlocking function All doors are unlocked when the driver’s door is
opened within 45 seconds after turning the
“ENGINE START STOP” switch OFF.■
Impact detection door lock release system
In the event that the vehicle is subject to a strong impact, all the doors are unlocked.
Depending on the force of the impact or the type of accident, however, the system
may not operate. ■
Using the mechanical key
The doors can also be locked and unlocked with the mechanical key. (  P. 872)■
Customization
Settings (e.g. unlocking function using a key) can be changed.

Carry only the key (including the ca rd key) to which you want to link
the driving position. If 2 or more ke ys are in the vehicle, the driving
position cannot be linked properly.
Turn the “ENGINE START STOP ” switch to OFF after closing
the driver’s door.
While pressing the desired button
(“1”, “2” or “3”), press the lock or
unlock side on the door lock
switch (either the driver or passen-
ger side) until the signal beeps. The driving position is recalled
when the driver’s door is unlocked
using the entry function or wireless
remote control and the driver’s
door is opened.STEP 1

Canceling the linked door unlock operation
Turn the “ENGINE START STOP” sw itch to OFF after closing the
driver’s door.
Using the wireless remote control: While pressing “SET” button, press
button on the wireless remote control until the signal beeps.
Using the door lock switch: While pre ssing “SET” button, press the lock or
unlock side on the door lock switch until the signal beeps.STEP 1

CAUTION■
Closing the windows
Observe the following precautions.
Failing to do so may result in death or serious injury. ●
The driver is responsible for all the powe r window operations, including the oper-
ation for the passengers. In order to preven t accidental operation, especially by a
child, do not let a child op erate the power windows. It is possible for children and
other passengers to have body parts caught in the power window. Also, when
riding with a child, it is recommended to use the window lock switch. (  P. 108)●
Check to make sure that all passengers do not have any part of their body in a
position where it could be caught when a window is being operated. ●
When using the smart access system, wireless remote co ntrol or mechanical key
and operating the power windows, operat e the power window after checking to
make sure that there is no possibility of any passenger having any of their body
parts caught in the window. Also, do not let a child operate window by the smart
access system, wireless remote control or me chanical key. It is possible for chil-
dren and other passengers to get caught in the power window. ●
When exiting the vehicle, turn the “ENG INE START STOP” switch off, carry the
key and exit the vehicle along with the child. There may be accidental operation,
due to mischief, etc., that may possibly lead to an accident.■
Jam protection function ●
Never try jamming any part of your body to activate the jam protection function
intentionally. ●
The jam protection function may not work if something gets caught just before
the window fully closes.

The moon roof can be operated when
The “ENGINE START STOP” switch is in IGNITION ON mode. ■
Door lock linked moon roof operation
The following functions can be used if customized at your Lexus dealer. ●
The moon roof can be opened and cl osed using the mechanical key. (  P. 872)●
The moon roof can be opened usin g the wireless remo te control. (  P. 49)●
The moon roof can be closed using the entry function. (  P. 36)■
Operating the moon roof after turning the “ENGINE START STOP” switch OFF
The moon roof can be operated for approximately 45 seconds even after the
“ENGINE START STOP” switch is turned to ACCESSORY mode or turned OFF.
It cannot, however, be operated on ce either front door is opened.■
Jam protection function
If an object is detected between the moon roof and the frame while closing or tilting
down, travel is stopped and the moon roof opens slightly. ■
If the moon roof cannot be closed automatically
Keep the switch depressed. ■
To reduce moon roof wind noise
When the moon roof is opened automaticall y, it will stop slightly before the fully
open position. Driving with the moon roof in this position can help reduce wind
noise. ■
Sunshade
The sunshade can be opened and closed manually. However, the sunshade will
open automatically when th e moon roof is opened.

Engine immobilizer system

System maintenance
The vehicle has a maintenance-free type engine immobilizer system. ■
Conditions that may cause the system to malfunction ●
If the key is in contact with a metallic object ●
If the key is in close proximity to or to uching a key to the security system (key
with a built-in transponde r chip) of another vehicleThe vehicle’s keys have built-in tran sponder chips that prevent the engine
from starting if a key has not been prev iously registered in the vehicle’s on-
board computer.
Never leave the keys inside the ve hicle when you leave the vehicle.
This system is designed to help prev ent vehicle theft but does not guar-
antee absolute security aga inst all vehicle thefts.
The indicator light flashes after
the “ENGINE START STOP”
switch has been turned off to
indicate that th e system is oper-
ating.

LX570_OM_OM60L96U_(U) Alarm The system sounds the al arm and flashes lights when forcible entry is
detected.
■ Triggering of the alarm
The alarm is triggered in the following situations wh en the alarm is
set:
● A locked door is unlock ed or opened in any way other than using
the entry function, wireless remo te control or using mechanical
key. (The doors will lock again automatically.)
● The hood is opened.
■ Setting the alarm system
Close the doors and hood, and
lock all doors.
The system will be set automati-
cally after 30 seconds. The indicator light changes from
being on to flashing when the
system is set.
■ Deactivating or stopping the alarm
Do one of the following to deactivate or stop the alarm.
● Unlock the doors.
● Turn the “ENGINE START STOP” switch to ACCESSORY or
IGNITION ON mode, or start the engine. (The alarm will be
deactivated or stopped after a few seconds.)
