If a following message is shown, take appr opriate action and confirm that the message
has disappeared. ( → P. 307)●

“Turn Assist Function Not Available Check System Operation Conditions”●
“Turn Assist Function Not Available Activate Crawl Control”■
If “Maintenance Required Soon” is shown (U.S.A. only)
Indicates that all maintenance according to the driven distance on the maintenance
schedule
* should be performed soon.
Comes on approximately 4500 miles (7200 k m) after the message has been reset.
If necessary, perform maintenance.
* : Refer to the separate “Scheduled Maintenance Guide” or “Owner’s Manual Supple-
ment” for the maintenance interval applicable to your vehicle.■
If “Maintenance Required Visit Your Dealer” is shown (U.S.A. only)

If “Oil Maintenance Required Visit Your Dealer” is shown
Indicates that the engine oil should be ch anged. (The indicator will not work properly
unless the message has been reset.)
Check and change the engine o il, and oil filter by your Lexus dealer. After changing the
engine oil, the messag e should be reset. ( → P. 475)■
If “Visit Your Dealer” is shown
The system or part shown on the multi-info rmation display is malfunctioning. Have the
vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer immediately. ■
Warning buzzer
In some cases, the buzzer ma y not be heard due to being in a noisy location or audio
sound.
NOTICE ■
While the engine oil level warning is displayed
Continued engine operation with low engine oil will damage the engine.

When trouble arises WARNING ■
Using the tire jack
Improper use of the tire jack may lead to death or serious injuries due to the vehicle
suddenly falling off the jack. ●
Do not use the tire jack for any purpose ot her than replacing tires or installing and
removing tire chains. ●
Only use the tire jack that comes with this vehicle for replacing a flat tire.
Do not use it on other vehicles, and do no t use other tire jacks for replacing tires on
this vehicle. ●
Always check that the tire jack is securely set to the jack point.●
Be sure to turn off the 4-Wh eel AHC and stop the engine.●
Do not put any part of your body under the vehicle supported by a jack. ●
Do not start or run the engine while yo ur vehicle is supported by the jack.●
Do not raise the vehicle while someone is in it. ●
When raising the vehicle, do not pu t an object on or under the jack.●
Do not raise the vehicle to a height greater than that required to replace the tire. ●
Use a jack stand if it is necessary to get under the vehicle.
Take particular care when lowering the ve hicle to ensure that no one working on or
near the vehicle will be injured. ■
Using the jack handle
Tighten all the jack handle bo lts securely using a Phillips-he ad screwdriver, to prevent
the extension parts from co ming apart unexpectedly.

When trouble arises Ensure that the shift lever is in P and depress the brake pedal.
Touch the Lexus emblem side of the
electronic key to the engine switch. When the electronic key is detected, a
buzzer sounds and the engine switch
will turn to IGNITION ON mode.
When the smart access system with
push-button start is deactivated in cus-
tomization setting, the engine switch will
turn to ACCESSORY mode.
Firmly depress the brake pedal and check that is shown on the
multi-information display.
Press the engine switch. In the event that the engine still cannot be started, contact your Lexus dealer.■
Stopping the engine
Shift the shift lever to P and press the engine switch as you normally do when stopping
the engine. ■
Replacing the key battery
As the above procedure is a temporary measure, it is recommended that the electronic
key battery be replaced immediately when the battery is depleted. ( → P. 503)■
Changing engine switch modes
Release the brake pedal and press the engine switch in step above. The engine does
not start and modes will be changed e ach time the switch is pressed. ( → P. 206)■
Alarm
Using the mechanical key to lock th e doors will not set the alarm system.
If a door is unlocked using the mechanical ke y when the alarm system is set, the alarm
may be triggered. ( → P. 77)■
When the electronic key does not work properly ●
Make sure that the smart access system wi th push-button start has not been deacti-
vated in the customization setting. If it is off, turn the function on.

Check if battery-saving mode is set. If it is set, cancel the function. ( → P. 134)Starting the engine 1

LX570_OM_OM60Q78U_(U) Start the engine of the second vehicle. Increase the engine speed slightly and
maintain at that level for approximatel y 5 minutes to recharge the battery of
your vehicle.
Open and close any of the doors with the engine switch off.
Maintain the engine speed of the second vehicle and turn the engine switch to
IGNITION ON mode, then start the vehicle’s engine.
Once the vehicle’s engine has started, remove the jumper cables in the exact
reverse order in which they were connected.
Once the engine starts, have the vehicl e checked at your Lexus dealer, as soon
as possible. ■
Starting the engine when the battery is discharged
The engine cannot be started by push-starting. ■
Avoiding a discharged battery ●
Turn off the headlights and the audio system while the engine is off. ●
Turn off any unnecessary electrical componen ts when the vehicle is running at a low
speed for an extended period, such as in heavy traffic, etc. ■
Charging the battery
The electricity stored in the battery will disc harge gradually even when the vehicle is not
in use, due to natural discharge and the draini ng effects of certain electrical appliances. If
the vehicle is left for a long time, the battery may discharge, and the engine may be
unable to start. (The battery recharges automatically during driving.) ■
When the battery is removed or discharged

When trouble arises The coolant level is satisfactory if it is between the “F” and “L” lines on the res-
ervoir.

Radiator cap
Add coolant if necessary. Water can be used in an emergency if
coolant is unavailable.
Start the engine and turn the air conditioning system on to check that the air
conditioning condenser cooling fans op erate and to check for coolant leaks
from the radiator or hoses. The fans operate when the air conditioning system is turned on immediately after a
cold start. Confirm that the fans are operating by checking the fan sound and air flow.
If it is difficult to check these, turn the air conditioning system on and off repeatedly.
(The fans may not operate in freezing temperatures.)
If the fans are not operating:
Stop the engine immediately an d contact your Lexus dealer.
If the fans are operating:
Have the vehicle inspected at the nearest Lexus dealer. 4
