Dynamic radar cruise control with full-speed range can be set when ●
The shift lever is in D or range 4 or higher of S has been selected.●
Vehicle speed is above approximately 30 mph (50 km/h). ■
Accelerating after setting the vehicle speed
The vehicle can accelerate by operating the accelerator pedal. After accelerating, the
set speed resumes. However, during vehicle- to-vehicle distance control mode, the vehi-
cle speed may decrease below the set speed in order to maintain the distance to the pre-
ceding vehicle. ■
Automatic cancelation of vehicle- to-vehicle distance control mode
Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode is automatically canceled in the following situ-
ations. “Radar Cruise Control Unavailable” will be displayed on the multi-information
display: ●
Actual vehicle speed falls below approximately 25 mph (40 km/h) when there are no
vehicles ahead. ●
The preceding vehicle leaves the lane when your vehicle is following at a vehicle speed
below 25 mph (40 km/h). Otherwise, the se nsor can not properly detect the vehicle.●
VSC is activated. ●
TRAC is activated for a period of time. ●
When the VSC or TRAC system is turned off by pressing the VSC OFF switch. ●
The sensor cannot detect correctly because it is covered in some way. ●
The windshield wipers are oper ating at high speed (when the wiper switch is set to the
“AUTO” mode or the high speed wiper operation position). ●
The parking brake is operated. ●
The vehicle is stopped by system control on a steep incline. ●
Pre-collision braking is activated. ●
The following are detected when the vehicle has been stopped by system control:
• The driver is not wearing a seat belt.
• The driver’s door is opened.
• The back door or hood is opened.
If vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode is automatically canceled for any other rea-
son, there may be a malfunction in the system. Contact your Lexus dealer.

Automatic cancelation of constant speed control mode
Constant speed control mode is automatica lly canceled in the following situations:●
Actual vehicle speed is more than approximately 10 mph (16 km/h) below the set vehi-
cle speed. ●
Actual vehicle speed falls below approximately 25 mph (40 km/h). ●
VSC is activated. ●
TRAC is activated for a period of time. ●
When the VSC or TRAC system is turned off by pressing the VSC OFF switch. ●
Pre-collision braking is activated. ■
Radar sensor and grille cover
Always keep the sensor and grille cover clean to ensure that the vehicle-to-vehicle dis-
tance control mode operates properly. (Some obstructions, such as snow, ice and plastic
objects, cannot be detected by the obstruction sensor.)
Dynamic radar cruise control with full-speed range is canceled if an obstruction is
detected.

Warning messages and buzzers for dynamic ra dar cruise control with full-speed range
Warning messages and buzzers are used to indicate a system malfunction or to inform
the driver of the need for caution while driv ing. If a warning message is shown on the
multi-information display, read the message and follow the instructions.■

Before using dynamic radar cruise control with full-speed range
Do not overly rely on vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode.
Be aware of the set speed. If automatic deceleration/acceleration is not appropriate,
adjust the vehicle speed, as well as the distance between your vehicle and vehicles
ahead by applying the brakes, etc. ■
Cautions regarding the driving assist systems
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may cause an accident resulting in death or serious injury. ●
Assisting the driver to measure following distance
The dynamic radar cruise control with full-sp eed range is only intended to help the
driver in determining the following distan ce between the driver’s own vehicle and a
designated vehicle traveling ahead. It is no t a mechanism that allows careless or inat-
tentive driving, and it is not a system that can assist the driver in low-visibility condi-
tions. It is still necessary for driver to pay close attention to the vehicle’s surroundings. ●
Assisting the driver to judge proper following distance
The dynamic radar cruise control with full-speed range determines whether the fol-
lowing distance between the driver’s own vehicle and a designated vehicle traveling
ahead is appropriate or not. It is not ca pable of making any othe r type of judgement.
Therefore, it is absolutely necessary for the driver to remain vigilant and to determine
whether or not there is a possibilit y of danger in any given situation.●
Assisting the driver to operate the vehicle
The dynamic radar cruise control with full -speed range has no capability to prevent or
avoid a collision with a vehicle traveling ahea d. Therefore, if there is ever any danger,
the driver must take immediate and direct control of the vehicle and act appropriately
in order to ensure the safety of all involved. ■
To avoid inadvertent dynamic radar cruise control with full-speed range activation
Switch the dynamic radar cruise control wi th full-speed range off using the “ON/OFF”
button when not in use.

Situations unsuitable for dynamic rada r cruise control with full-speed range
Do not use dynamic radar cruise control wi th full-speed range in any of the following
situations.
Doing so may result in inappropriate speed control and could cause an accident result-
ing in death or serious injury. ●
Roads where there are pede strians, cyclers, etc.●
In heavy traffic ●
On roads with sharp bends ●
On winding roads ●
On slippery roads, such as thos e covered with rain, ice or snow●
On sharp inclines or declines
Vehicle speed may exceed the set speed when driving down a steep hill. ●
Roads with continuous inclines and declines ●
At entrances to freeways and highways ●
When weather conditions are bad enough that they may prevent the sensors from
detecting correctly (fog, snow, sandstorm, heavy rain, etc.)●
When an approach warning buzzer is heard often ●
When your vehicle is towing a trailer or during emergency towing ■
When the sensor may not be correctly detecting the vehicle ahead
In the case of the following and depending on the conditions, operate the brake pedal
when deceleration of the system is insuff icient or operate the accelerator pedal when
acceleration is required.
As the sensor may not be able to correctly detect these types of vehicles, the approach
warning (  P. 259) will not be activated, which ma y lead to an accident resulting in
death or serious injury. ●
Vehicles that cut in suddenly ●
Vehicles traveling at low speeds ●
Vehicles that are not moving in the same lane ●
Vehicles with small rear ends (traile rs with no load on board, etc.)
●
Motorcycles traveling in the same lane ●
When water or snow thrown up by the surrounding vehicles hinders the detecting of
the sensor

Conditions under which the vehicle-to-vehic le distance control mode may not func-
tion correctly
Operate the brake pedal (or accelerator pe dal operation depending on the situation)
as necessary in the following conditions as the radar sensor may not be able to cor-
rectly detect vehicles ahead, which may lead to an accident resulting in death or seri-
ous injury.
●
When the vehicle ahead of you decelerates suddenly ●
When your vehicle is pointing upwards
(caused by a heavy load in the luggage com-
partment, etc.)
●
When the road curves or when the lanes are
narrow
●
When steering wheel operation or your posi-
tion in the lane is unstable Accelerate Accelerate Decelerate

Handling the radar sensor
Observe the following to ensure the dyna mic radar cruise control with full-speed
range can function effectively.
Otherwise, the radar sensor may not detect correctly and could result in an accident. ●
Keep the sensor and grille cover clean at all times.
Clean the sensor and grille cover with a soft cloth so you do not mark or damage
them. ●
Do not subject the sensor or surr ounding area to a strong impact.
If the sensor moves even slightly off positi on, the system may malfunction. If the sen-
sor or surrounding area is subject to a stro ng impact, always have the area inspected
and adjusted by your Lexus dealer. ●
Do not disassemble the sensor. ●
Do not attach accessories or stickers to the sensor, grille cover or surrounding area.●
Do not modify or paint the sensor and grille cover. ●
Do not replace them with non-genuine parts. ●
If the radar sensor needs to be re placed, contact your Lexus dealer.

pedal.
Use the cruise control on freeways and highways.
Indicators
Cruise control switch
Press the “ON/OFF” button to acti-
vate the cruise control. Cruise control indicator will come on.
Press the button again to deactivate the
cruise control.
Accelerate or decelerate, with
accelerator pedal operation, to the
desired vehicle speed (above
approximately 25 mph [40 km/h])
and push the lever down to set the
speed. Cruise control “SET” indicator will come
on.

Increases the speed
Decreases the speed
Fine adjustment: Momentarily move
the lever in the desired direction.
Large adjustment: Hold the lever in the
desired direction.
The set speed will be increase d or decreased as follows:Fine adjustment: By approximately 1 mph (1.6 km/h) each time the lever is operated
Large adjustment: The set speed can be incr eased or decreased co ntinually until the
lever is released.
Pulling the lever toward you cancels
the constant speed control. The speed setting is also canceled when
the brake pedal is depressed.
Pushing the lever up resumes the
constant speed control. However, resuming is available when
the vehicle speed is more than approxi-

Cruise control can be set when ●
The shift lever is in D or range 4 or higher of S has been selected.●
Vehicle speed is above approximately 25 mph (40 km/h). ■
Accelerating after setting the vehicle speed ●
The vehicle can be accelerated by operating accelerator pedal. After accelerating, the
set speed resumes. ●
Even without canceling the cruise control, the set speed can be increased by first accel-
erating the vehicle to the desired speed and then pushing the lever down to set the new
speed. ■
Automatic cancelation of cruise control
Cruise control is automatically canceled in any of the fo llowing situations.●
Actual vehicle speed falls more than approximately 10 mph (16 km/h) below the set
speed. ●
Actual vehicle speed is below approximately 25 mph (40km/h). ●
VSC is activated. ●
TRAC is activated for a period of time. ●
When the VSC or TRAC system is turned off by pressing the VSC OFF switch. ■
If “Cruise Control Malfunction Visit Your De aler” is displayed on the multi-information
display
Press the “ON/OFF” button once to deactivate the system, and then press the button
again to reactivate the system.
If the cruise control speed cannot be set or if the cruise control cancels immediately after
being activated, there may be a malfunction in the cruise control system. Have the vehi-
cle inspected by your Lexus dealer.

To avoid operating the cruise control by mistake
Switch the cruise control off using th e “ON/OFF” button when not in use.■
Situations unsuitable for cruise control

NX300h_U_OM78007ULDA (Lane Departure Alert with steering control) While driving on a highway or freeway that has white (or yellow) lane markers
and few curves, a camera, which is located on the upper part of the windshield,
uses this system to recognize the white (yellow) lane markers and when the
driver has deviated from the lane. If the system judges that the vehicle has devi-
ated from the current traffic lane, along with alerting the driver with a buzzer and
indications in the multi-information display, it will provide assistance by operating
the steering wheel to avoid further deviation from the marker lines.
