■Automatic cancelation of vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode
Vehicle-to-vehicle distance co ntrol driving is automatically canceled in the following situ- ations:
●Actual vehicle speed falls below approximately 40 km/h (25 mph).
●VSC is activated.
●TRC is activated for a period of time.
●When the VSC or TRC system is turned off by pressing the VSC OFF switch.
●The sensor cannot detect correctly because it is covered in some way.
●The windshield wipers are operating at high speed (when the wipers are in AUTO
mode or the high speed wiper operation).
●When snow mode is set.
●Pre-crash braking is activated.
If vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode is automatically canceled for any other rea- son, there may be a malfunction in the syst em. Contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qua lified and equipped professional.
■Automatic cancelation of constant speed control mode
Constant speed control mode is automatically canceled in the following situations:
●Actual vehicle speed is more than approximately 16 km/h (10 mph) below the set vehi-
cle speed.
●Actual vehicle speed falls below approximately 40 km/h (25 mph).
●VSC is activated.
●TRC is activated for a period of time.
●When the VSC or TRC system is turned off by pressing the VSC OFF switch.
●Pre-crash braking is activated.

WARNING
■When washing the vehicle
Do not apply water to the inside of the engine compartment. Doing so may cause the electrical components etc. to catch fire.
■When cleaning the windshield (vehicles with rain-sensing windshield wipers)
●When the upper part of the windshield where the raindrop sensor is located is touched by hand
●When a wet rag or similar is held close to the raindrop sensor
●If something bumps against the windshield
●If you directly touch the raindrop sensor body or if something bumps into the raindrop
sensor
■Precautions regarding the exhaust pipes
As exhaust gases cause the exhaust pipes to become quite hot, do not touch the
exhaust pipes while the engine is running or immediately after the engine is turned off.
When washing the vehicle, be careful not to touch the exhaust pipes until they have cooled sufficiently, as touching hot exhaust pipes can cause burns.
■Precaution regarding the rear bumper with Blind Spot Monitor (if equipped)
If the paint of the rear bumper is chipped or scratched, the system may malfunction. If this occurs, consult any authorized Lexus deal er or repairer, or another duly qualified
and equipped professional.
Set the wipers to the intermittent windshield
wipers. ( P. 276) If AUTO mode is selected, the wipers mayoperate unexpectedly in the following situa-
tions, and may result in hands being caught or other serious injuries and cause damage to thewiper blades.

NOTICE
■Application of coatings to the vehicle body (vehicles with CFRP parts)
Do not apply any kind of coating to the vehicle body as doing so may damage the paint or reduce its durability.
■To prevent paint deterioration and corrosion on the body and components (aluminumwheels etc.)
●Wash the vehicle immediately in the following cases:
• After driving near the sea coast • After driving on salted roads• If coal tar or tree sap is present on the paint surface
• If dead insects, insect droppings or bird droppings are present on the paint surface • After driving in an area contaminated wi th soot, oily smoke, mine dust, iron pow- der or chemical substances
• If the vehicle becomes heavily soiled with dust or mud • If liquids such as benzene and gaso line are spilled on the paint surface
●If the paint is chipped or scratched, have it repaired immediately.
●To prevent the wheels from corroding, remove any dirt and store in a place with low humidity when storing the wheels.
■Cleaning the exterior lights
●Wash carefully. Do not use organic subs tances or scrub with a hard brush. This may damage the surfaces of the lights.
●Do not apply wax to the surfaces of the lights.Wax may cause damage to the lenses.
■To prevent damage to the windshield wiper arms
When lifting the wiper arms away from the windshield, pull the driver side wiper arm upward first, and repeat for the passenger side. When returning the wipers to theiroriginal position, do so from the passenger side first.
■When using an automatic car wash (vehicle s with rain-sensing windshield wipers)
Set the wipers to the intermittent windshield wipers. ( P. 276) If AUTO mode is selected, the wipers may operate and the wiper blades may be dam-
aged.

(If equipped)
Indicates that the dynamic radar cruise control system is
unable to judge vehicle-to-vehicle distance A buzzer also sounds. Turn off snow mode.
If the windshield wipers are on, turn them off or set them to a mode other than AUTO or high speedwiper operation.
(If equipped)
Indicates that the LDA (Lane Departure Alert) system issuspended (The camera sensor temperature is higher
than the operation temperature range) A buzzer also sounds. Restart the LDA after driving for a while.
(If equipped)
Indicates that a Blind Spot Monitor sensor or the sur- rounding area on the rear bumper is dirty or covered
with snow, ice, etc. or that a sensor is misaligned A buzzer also sounds. Clean off the dirt, snow, ice, etc. and drive the vehi-
cle with the operation conditions of the BSM func- tion ( P. 372) satisfied for approximately 10
minutes. If the warning message does not disappear, the sensor may be misaligned. Have the vehicleinspected by any authorized Lexus dealer or
repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional.
Indicates a malfunction in:• The cruise control system; or
• The dynamic radar cruise control system (if equipped) Press the “ON/OFF” button once to deactivate thesystem, and then press the button again to reactivate
the system. A buzzer also sounds. Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus
dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional.
