WARNING
Observe the following precautions. Failure to do so may cause the driver’s floor mat to slip, possibly interfering with the ped-als while driving. An unexpect edly high speed may result or it may become difficult to
stop the vehicle. This could lead to an acci dent, resulting in death or serious injury.
■When installing the driver’s floor mat
●Do not use floor mats designed for other models or different model year vehicles,
even if they are Lexus Genuine floor mats.
●Only use floor mats designed for the driver’s seat.
●Always install the floor mat securely us ing the retaining hooks (clips) provided.
●Do not use two or more floor mats on top of each other.
●Do not place the floor mat bottom-side up or upside-down.
■Before driving
●Check that the floor mat is securely fixed in the correct place with all the provided retain-
ing hooks (clips). Be especially careful to per- form this check after cleaning the floor.
●With the engine stopped and the shift lever in
P, fully depress each pedal to the floor to make sure it does not interfere with the floormat.

“PASSENGER AIR BAG” indicator
The “ON” indicator light turns on when the airbag system is on (only when theengine switch is in IGNITION ON
mode).
Airbag manual on-off switch
Insert the mechanical key into the cylin-
der and rotate to the “OFF” position.
The “OFF” indicator light turns on (only when the engine switch is in IGNITIONON mode).
Airbag manual on-off system
This system deactivates the front passenger airbag and front passenger knee
airbag.
Only deactivate the airbags when using a child restraint system on the front
passenger seat.

When the sensors located at the back of the front bumper detect an impact with
a body, such as a pedestrian, which meet s or exceeds the threshold level while
the vehicle is being driven within the operational speed range, the system
becomes operational and raises the rear portion of the hood.

In the event of a frontal collision with a body, such as a pedestrian, the Pop Up
Hood system raises the rear portion of the hood to reduce the possibility of a
serious impact to the pedestrian’s he ad area by adding clearance to the
engine compartment.
