RC350/RCF_U (OM24636U)
Your vehicle is equipped with ADVANCED AIRBAGS designed based on the
US motor vehicle safety standards (FMVSS208). The airbag sensor assembly
(ECU) controls airbag deployment based on information obtained from the sen-
sors etc. shown in the system compon ents diagram above. This information
includes crash severity and occupant information. As the airbags deploy, a
chemical reaction in the inflators quickly fills the airbags with non-toxic gas to
help restrain the moti on of the occupants.

■There is a malfunction in the system
*1: The system judges a person of adult size as an adult. When a smaller adult sits in
the front passenger seat, the system may not recognize him/her as an adult
depending on his/her physique and posture.
*2: In the event the front passenger is wearing a seat belt.
*3: In the event the front passenger does not wear a seat belt
*4: For some children, child in seat, child in booster seat or child in convertible seat,
the system may not recognize him/her as a child. Factors which may affect this can
be the physique or posture.
*5: Never install a rear-facing child restraint system on the front passenger seat. A for- ward-facing child restraint system should only be installed on the front passenger
seat when it is unavoidable. ( P. 5 7 )
*6: In case the indicator light is not illuminated, consult this manual on how to install the
child restraint system properly. ( P. 5 9 )

The warning lights and indicators on th
e instrument cluster, center panel and
outside rear view mirrors inform the driv er of the status of the vehicle’s vari-
ous systems.
For the purpose of explanation, the foll owing illustrations display all warning
lights and indicators illuminated.

●TVD (Torque Vectoring Differential) control mode indicators (RC F)
*1: These lights turn on when the engine switch is turned to IGNITION ON mode toindicate that a system check is being perfor med. They will turn off after the engine is
on, or after a few seconds. There may be a malfunction in a system if a light does not
come on, or turn off. Have the vehi cle inspected by your Lexus dealer.
*2: The light flashes to indicate that the system is operating.
*3: The light comes on when the system is turn ed off. The light will flash quickly when the
system is operating.
*4: In order to confirm operation, the BSM outside rear view mirror indicators illuminate in the following situations:
• When the engine switch is turned to IGNITION ON mode while the BSM main
switch is turned on.
• When the BSM main switch is turned on while the engine swit ch is in IGNITION
ON mode.
If the system is functioning correctly, the BSM outside rear view mirror indicators will
turn off after a few seconds.
If the BSM outside rear view mirror indica tors do not illuminate or do not turn off,
there may be a malfunction in the system.
If this occurs, have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.
*5: When the outside temperature is approximately 37 F (3 C) or lower, the indicator
will flash for approximately 10 seconds, then stay on.
*6: This light illuminates on the outside rear view mirrors.
*7: This light illuminates on the center panel.

The brightness of the instrument panel lights can be adjusted.
Darker
Brighter
■The meters and display illuminate when
The engine switch is in IGNITION ON mode.
■Instrument panel brightness adjustment
The instrument panel brig htness levels when the tail ligh ts are on and off can be adjusted
individually. However, when the surroundings ar e bright (daytime, etc.), turning on the tail
lights will not change the instru ment panel brightness. At this time, any adjustments made
to the instrument panel bright ness levels will be applied to both settings at once.
■Outside temperature display
●In the following situations, the correct outside temperature may not be displayed, or the
display may take longer than normal to change.
• When stopped, or driving at low speeds (less than 12 mph [20 km/h])
• When the outside temperature has change d suddenly (at the entrance/exit of a
garage, tunnel, etc.)
●When “ ” or “E” is displayed, the system may be malfunctioning.
Take your vehicle to your Lexus dealer.
■Pop-up display
●In some situations, such as when a switch operation is pe rformed, a pop-up display will
be temporarily displayed on the multi-info rmation display or the odometer/trip meter
screen (F SPORT models only).
●Some pop-up displays can be set on/off. ( P. 1 0 8 )
■Liquid crystal display
Small spots or light spots may appear on the display. This phenomenon is characteristic
of liquid crystal displays, and there is no problem continuing to use the display.
■Customization
The meter display can be customized on the multi-information display. (P. 1 0 3 )
