5-3. Using the audio system
Press the “AUDIO” button to display the “Source” screen.
If the “Source” screen is not displayed, press the button again.
Select the desired audio source.
The audio source can be selected by pressing the “RADIO” or “MEDIA” button.
Press the “MODE” switch when the audio system is turned on. The audio source
changes each time the “MODE” switch is pressed.
■Rearranging the list
The listing order of the source list can be rearranged.
Move the controller to the left while on the “Source” screen.
Select “Audio source select”.
Select an item you wish to move and then select where to move the item to.

the selected source.

Tune in to the desired station using one of the following methods.
■Seek tuning
Manual screen: Press or press and hold the “ ” or “” button.
Seek tuning can also be operated on the menu screen. ( P. 461)
The radio will begin seeking up or down for a station of the nearest frequency
and will stop when a station is found.
Radio operation
Select “AM”, “FM” or “DAB” on the “Source” screen to begin listening to the
radio.

■iPod functions
●When an iPod is connected and the audio sour ce is changed to iPod mode, the iPod will resume play from the same poin t in which it was last used.
●Depending on the iPod that is connected to the system, certain functions may not be
available. If a function is unavailable due to a malfunction (as opposed to a system spec- ification), disconnecting the device and reconnecting it may resolve the problem.
●Depending on the iPod, while connected to the system, the iPod cannot be operated
with its own controls. It is necessary to use the controls of the vehicle’s audio system instead.
●When the battery level of an iPod is very low, the iPod may not operate. If so, charge the
iPod before use.

Select “Handset mode” to change from a hands-free call to a cellular phone call
or vice versa.
Press the on-hook switch on the steering wheel or select .
When a call is interrupted by a third party while talking, an incoming call mes-
sage will be displayed.
To talk with the other party:
Press the off-hook switch on the steer-
ing wheel or select .
To refuse the call:
Press the on-hook switch on the steer-
ing wheel or select .
Every time you press the off-hook switch on the steering wheel or select during
call waiting, you will be sw itched to the other party.
■Transferring calls
●It is not possible to transfer from hands-free to the cellular phone while driving.
●If you transfer from the cellul ar phone to hands-free, the hands-free screen will be dis-
played, and you can operate the system using the screen.
●Transfer method and operation may vary according to the cellular phone used.
●For operation of the cellular phone in use, see the phone’s manual.
■Call waiting operation
Call waiting operation may differ dependin g on your phone company and cellular
phone.

■Change the airflow mode
To change the air outlets, press .
■S-FLOW mode
In S-FLOW mode, priority for the airflow is given to the front seats, reducing
the airflow and air conditioning effect on the rear seats.
If a passenger is not detected in the front passenger seat, priority for the air-
flow will be given to the driver's seat only.
In this case, the temperature indicator for the front passenger side will turn off.
S-FLOW mode will be activated automatically according to the set tempera-
ture, outside temperature, etc. ( P. 545)
The indicator comes on when S-FLOW mode is on.

■Windshield wiper de-icer (if equipped)
This feature is used to prevent ice from building up on the windshield and
wiper blades.
Select on the option control screen.
When the windshield wiper de-icer is on , is displayed on the air condition-
ing control screen.
The windshield wiper de-icer will automatically turn off after a period of time.
■Heated Windshield Defroster (if equipped)
This feature is used to prevent ice
from building up on the windshield
and wiper blades.
Press the switch to turn the system
on/off.
The Heated Windshield Defroster
will automatically turn off in 4 min-
utes. The Heated Windshield
Defroster will not operate if the out-
side temperature is 5 C (41 F) or
higher.
■Blower customization
Fan speed setting during the automatic mode operation can be customized.
To change the fan speed setting mode, select “FAST/ECO” on the air condi-
tioning control screen.
Each time “FAST/ECO” is selected, the fan speed setting mode changes as fol-
lows.
“NORMAL”  “ECO”  “FAST”  “NORMAL”

■Registering air conditioning settings to electronic keys (vehicles with driving position
memory)
●Unlocking the vehicle using an electronic ke y and turning the engine switch to IGNI- TION ON mode will recall that key’s registered air conditioning settings.
●When the engine switch is turned off, the current air conditioning settings will automat- ically be registered to the electronic key that was used to unlock the vehicle.
●The system may not operate correctly if more than one electronic key is in the vicinity or
if the smart entry & start system is used to unlock a passenger door.
●The doors that can recall the air conditioni ng setting when unlocked using the smart entry & start system can be changed.* For details, contact any authorized Lexus dealer
or repairer, or another duly qu alified and equipped professional.
*: The doors that can recall the driving position memory are changed at the same time.
■Using automatic mode
Fan speed is adjusted automatically according to the temperature setting and the ambi-
ent conditions. Therefore, the fan may stop for a while until wa rm or cool air is ready to flow immediately after the “AUTO” button is pressed or “AUTO” is selected.
■Operation of S-FLOW mode
In automatic mode, S-FLOW mode will be turned off if a rear door has been opened and
closed. To activate S-FLOW mode again, press .
■Automatic mode for air intake control (if equipped)
In automatic mode, the system detects exhaust gas and other pollutants and automati-
cally switches between outside air and recirculated air modes.
When the dehumidification function is off, and the fan is operating, turning automatic mode on will activate the dehumidification function.
■Fogging up of the windows
●The windows will easily fog up when the humidi ty in the vehicle is high. Selecting “A/C” will dehumidify the air from the outlets and defog the windshield effectively.
●If you turn “A/C” off, the windows may fog up more easily.
●The windows may fog up if the recirculated air mode is used.

■Operation condition
The heated steering wheel can be used when the engine switch is in IGNITION ON mode.
■Timer
The heated steering wheel will automatically turn off after about 30 minutes.
■When the heated steering wheel is operating
If the Heated Windshield Defroster is operated, operation of the heated steering wheel
will be suspended. Turn off the Heated Windsh ield Defroster to enable the heated steer- ing wheel. ( P. 543)
Vehicles without seat ventilators
Each time the switch is pressed, the
operation condition changes as follows.

The level indicator (amber) lights up during operation.

■When the front passenger seat heater is operating
If the Heated Windshield Defroster is operated, operation of the front passenger seat heater will be suspended. Turn off the Heated Windshield Defroster enable the front pas-
senger seat heater. ( P. 543)
