ADJUSTING THE EXTERIOR
MIRRORS
WARNING: Do not adjust the mirrorswhen your vehicle is moving. This couldresult in the loss of control of your vehicle,serious personal injury or death.

To adjust the mirrors, switch your vehicle onand place the ignition in accessory or start.
1.Select the mirror you want to adjust. Thecontrol light turns on.
2.Use the adjustment control to adjust theposition of the mirror.
3.Press the mirror control again. Thecontrol light turns off.
FOLDING THE EXTERIOR MIRRORS
With the auto-fold feature enabled, theexterior mirrors fold in toward the glass afteryou place the transmission into park (P), turnoff the vehicle, open and close the driverside door and lock the vehicle. The exteriormirrors unfold and return to their drivingposition after you unlock the vehicle andopen and close the driver side door.
For tight parking conditions, pressthe control to fold the mirrors.
Press the control again to unfold the mirrors.
If you press the control to fold in the mirrorswith auto-fold on, the mirrors do not unfoldwhen you unlock your vehicle.
Note:The power folding mirrors operate withthe ignition on, and for several minutes afteryou switch the ignition off.
Note:If you fold and unfold the mirrorsseveral times within one minute, the powerfold function may turn off to protect themotors from overheating.
Switching Auto-fold On and Off
1.Press Settings on the touchscreen.
2.Press Vehicle Settings.
3.Press Mirrors.
4.Switch Autofold on or off.

Note:The low fuel reminder can appear atdifferent fuel gauge positions depending onfuel economy conditions. This variation isnormal.
WHAT IS DISTANCE TO EMPTY
Indicates the approximate distance yourvehicle can travel on the fuel remaining inthe tank. Changes in driving pattern cancause the value to not only decrease but alsoincrease or stay constant for periods of time.
ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE
GAUGE
Indicates the engine coolant temperature.
WHAT ARE THE INSTRUMENT
CLUSTER WARNING LAMPS
Warning lamps alert you to a vehiclecondition that could become serious. Somelamps illuminate when you start your vehicleto make sure they work. If any lamps remainon after starting your vehicle, refer to therespective system warning lamp for furtherinformation.

Anti-Lock Brake System

If it illuminates when the engine isrunning, this indicates your vehicle requiresservice. Have your vehicle checked as soonas possible.

Brake System
Illuminates red when you apply theparking brake and the ignition ison. If it illuminates when yourvehicle is moving, make sure theparking brake is released. If theparking brake is released, this indicates lowbrake fluid level or the brake system requiresservice. Have your vehicle checked as soonas possible.
Note:Indicators may vary depending onregion.
Door Ajar
Illuminates when you switch theignition on and remains on if anydoor is open.
Electric Parking Brake
Illuminates yellow or flashes whenthe electric parking brake requiresservice.
Note:Indicators may vary depending onregion.
Engine Coolant Temperature
If it illuminates, safely stop yourvehicle and switch it off.
Fasten Seatbelt
Illuminates and a tone sounds untilyou fasten the seatbelts.
Fasten Rear Seatbelt
Illuminates and a tone sounds tosignal the rear seatbelts are notfastened.
Hood Ajar
Illuminates when the ignition is onand the hood is not completelyclosed.
Liftgate Ajar
Illuminates when the liftgate is notcompletely closed.
Low Beam Warning
Illuminates when there is amalfunction with the LED low beamheadlamp.

Illuminates when the fuel level islow.
Low Tire Pressure

Low Washer Fluid Level
Illuminates when the washer fluidis low.
Malfunction Indicator Lamp
Illuminates when the ignition is onand the engine is off, this is normal.If it illuminates when the engine ison, this indicates the emission control systemrequires service. If it flashes, have yourvehicle checked immediately. See Startingand Stopping the Engine – Warning Lamps(page 210). See Emission Law (page 651).
Oil Pressure
WARNING: If it illuminates when youare driving do not continue your journey,even if the oil level is correct. Have yourvehicle checked.
Illuminates when the engine oilpressure is low.
Powertrain Fault
Illuminates when the systemdetects a powertrain or a4WD/AWD fault. Have your vehiclechecked as soon as possible.

WHAT IS REMOTE START
The system allows you to remotely start yourvehicle and therefore to heat or cool theinterior to a predetermined temperature.
REMOTE START PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: Do not start the enginein a closed garage or in other enclosedareas. Exhaust fumes are toxic. Alwaysopen the garage door before you start theengine. Failure to follow this instructioncould result in personal injury or death.
REMOTE START LIMITATIONS
Remote start does not work if:
•The alarm horn is sounding.
•The hood is open.
•The transmission is not in park (P).
•Remote start is not enabled.
•The ignition is on.
Note:Do not use remote start if your fuellevel is low.
ENABLING REMOTE START
1.Press Settings on the touchscreen.
2.Press Vehicle Settings.
3.Press Remote Start Setup.
4.Switch System on or off.
Note:To use remote start, make sure thatthe modem is enabled. See Enabling andDisabling the Modem (page 514).
REMOTELY STARTING AND
STOPPING THE VEHICLE
Remotely Starting the Vehicle
Press the button on the remotecontrol.
Within three seconds, press thebutton on the remote control.
Within three seconds, press thebutton again.
Note:You can also use the Lincoln Way appto start the vehicle.
Note:The turn signals flash twice.
Note:The parking lamps turn on when thevehicle is running.
Note:The horn sounds if the system fails tostart.
Note:All other vehicle systems remain offwhen you have remotely started the vehicle.
Note:The vehicle remains secured whenyou have remotely started the vehicle. Avalid key must be inside your vehicle toswitch your vehicle on and drive yourvehicle.
Remotely Stopping the Vehicle
Within three seconds, press thebutton on the remote control.

WHAT IS THE REAR OCCUPANT
ALERT SYSTEM
The rear occupant alert system monitors thevehicle conditions and notifies you to checkfor rear seat occupants when you switch theignition off. The notifications can be in theform of warnings inside the vehicle orsounding of the horn for a short period oftime. There are also notifications from theLincoln Way app if your vehicle is equippedto send rear occupant alerts to the app.
HOW DOES THE REAR OCCUPANT
ALERT SYSTEM WORK
The system monitors the activity of thebuckle on the rear seatbelt and the openingand closing of the rear doors to indicate thepotential presence of an occupant in the rearseat.
When a child seat is installed, the systemmonitors only the opening and closing of therear doors to indicate the potential presenceof an occupant in the rear seat.
When a child seat is not installed, the systemmonitors the rear seatbelt buckle activity andthe opening and closing of the rear doors toindicate the potential presence of anoccupant in the rear seat.
A message displays in the touchscreen andan audible warning sounds when you switchthe ignition off after any of the followingconditions have been met:
•A rear door is opened or closed whilethe ignition is on.
•You switch the ignition on within 15minutes of a rear door opening andclosing.
•You switch the ignition on within 15minutes of the alert having displayed orsounded.
If you do not open a rear door within a shortperiod of time of closing the driver door afteryou switch the ignition off, the horn soundsfor a short period of time.
Note:Horn sounds only when the RearOccupant Alert is set to Alert & Horn. If youchange the setting, then there will be nohorn.
Lincoln Way App Notifications (If Equipped)
If you do not open a rear door within fiveminutes of closing the driver door after youswitch the ignition off, an alert is sent to yourLincoln Way App. Additional alerts are sentevery five minutes or until a rear door isopened. You have the option to snooze ordismiss these alerts within the app.
Note:The Lincoln Way alert repeats up tofour times.
Note:You must be logged into the LincolnWay app to be able to receive thenotifications.

•Forward facing child restraints.
•Rear facing child restraints.
•Child restraints using the LATCH system.
Child Seat Installed should be switched offwhen the child is using any of the following:
•Seatbelt.
•Booster seat.
Semiannual Reminder
When you switch the system off, a messageappears every six months as a reminder thatthe system is off. You can switch the systemback on or leave it off.

AUDIBLE WARNINGS
The first audible warning is an alert tonewithin the vehicle, which sounds when youswitch your vehicle off after the alertconditions are met. The warning sounds fora short period of time.
The second audible warning is from the horn.It sounds when you do not open a rear doorwithin a short period of time of closing thedriver door after you switch the ignition off.The warning sounds for a short period oftime.

HOW DOES THE MEMORY
FUNCTION WORK
The memory function recalls the position ofthese features:
•Driver seat.
•Power mirrors.
•Optional power steering column.

WARNING: Before activating thememory seat, make sure that the areaimmediately surrounding the seat is clearof obstructions and that all occupants areclear of moving parts.
WARNING: Do not use the memoryfunction when your vehicle is moving.
LOCATING THE MEMORY
FUNCTION BUTTONS
The memory control is on the driver door.
SAVING A PRESET POSITION
1.Switch the ignition on.
2.Adjust the memory features to yourpreferred position.
3.Press and hold the preferred presetbutton until you hear a single tone.
A confirmation message appears in theinformation cluster display.
You can save up to three preset memorypositions at any time.
RECALLING A PRESET POSITION
Press and release a preset button.
Note:You can only recall a preset memoryposition when the ignition is off, or when youplace the transmission in park (P) or neutral(N) if the ignition is on and the vehicle is notmoving.
Note:Pressing any of the memory featurecontrols during a memory recall cancels theoperation.
You can also recall a preset memory positionby:
•Pressing the unlock button on yourremote control if you linked it to a presetposition.
•Unlocking the intelligent driver doorhandle if a linked remote control ispresent.
